HI….
After mahesh babu,I would like to talk a bit about my teams…wazzat???well, that basically is a reference to Manchester United,Real Madrid,Mumbai Indians…
These are three teams I am simply mad about…simply.I have followed them from a long time and am mentally a manc,a madridista and a mumbaikar(i live in mumbai)…
I am a passionate guy…and it shows…I do not like to hear anything against my teams and when their matches come,it is like i leave my home and be with them for the time-being…
I have already talked in my previous post about my love for manchester united so I would now talk about Real Madrid and Mumbai Indians….
I have been in mumbai for 7 years now….in this time,I have learnt fat loads from the city and have spent my teenage there…For those who have frequently visited of are inhabitants of the city, what I will say now will be a common thing…for ohters, please read on….
Mumbai is a city which welcomes everyone and upgrades the life of every inhabitant of the city…people who come to stay here never want to leave…I had heard this and when i spent a year I fully believed it….the city is way too close to my heart and so whien the I.P.L.came about, it was but natural that every mumbaikar worth his salt would give unabridged support to the Mumbai Indians, the franchise representing the great city of mumbai….Fittingly,it was Mukesh Ambani,a pride of Mumbai who bought the franchise for a whopping $119,000,000….Last year mumbai indians came fifth yet we were proud of it since after losing the first 4 games,it`d bounced back in true mumbai style to wint the next 6 games….It took a heart-braking 1 run defeat by kings11 punjab to end the hopes of the mumbai based outfit…this year, the I.P.L.is staged in south africa and after 7 games, M.I. have 7 points and are 6th out of a total of 8 teams….the performances so far have been erratic and mumbai maestro Sachin Tendulkar has alluded to the lack of consistency….however,i have very strong reasons+sentiments to believe that mumbai have a very capable team and can win the i.p.l.this time….this has led to some skirmishes with my friends….most of them are primarily fans of delhi, hyderabad and so back their team to the hilt…whenever mumbai loses, they start on me and I do not lose the opportunity to take their mickey whenever their team loses….the banter is truly amazing and sometimes it does get heated…I have been in one when my friends were teasing mumbai`s dismal defeat to bangalore and i snapped….we heatedly argued…twas nice…..my passion stands out in the banter and I guarantee to all that come what may, like a true mumbaikar I will back mumbai to go all the way….
Same goes for Real Madrid…they are not the most attractive team to watch in the Spanish football league but it ain`t that makes me a merengues fan….
Real Madrid till 2003 had a very simple footballing philosophy…if the opposition scores 3, we score 5!!they played swashbuckling football and had the world at their feet…the team comprised Beckham,Figo,Zidane, ronaldo and was well known all over the world….after 2004,this team got disbanded and in 2006 a certain Italian called Fabio Capello took charge of a madrid team which hadn`t won the league in 3 years….
What Don Fabio(as he is nicknamed)did was to transform the lazy and carefree madrid side into a grafter….this was typified in Gonzalo Higuian,an Argentine striker whom Fabio had gotten from Boca Juniors of Argentina….In 2007-08 and 2008-09,Real Madrid stormed back form their trophy drought to win back-to-back la liga titles….
It is this spirit in the madrid team which has seen me be a staunch madridista for the past 7 years……..
In conclusion, all i would like to say is that these teams are something I closely relate to and would always back them…..come what may….I take ur leave now……bbye!!!
