Pak`s melodrama

Hi,

It`s been two weeks to my last post….no sweat, here`s a new one…this one  pertains to the intriguing yet irritating situation in Pakistan that has seen Hafeez Mohammed Sayeed, the mastermind of the 26/11 attacks, almost out of jail….why almost??cuz technically he has been kept under detention yet since he couldn`t be prosecuted properly, the court couldn`t convict him….as soon as this developement was announced, the Indian media went into hyper-drive,not over-drive in slamming Pak for this act….the Government`s response was more measured and they upped the ante on Pak by intimating Washington of their innate displeasure at Sayeed`s release….

What happened was something diplomats were long expecting….you see, there exist in Pakistan, the muslim version of the RSS i.e.to say,as we have Hindu hardliners here in India,Pakistan has a powerful lobby of Muslim hardliners….the operations in the SWAT valley against the Taliban had increased the angst of the Hardliners so much so that Zardari&Gilani started sweating….this act of releasing Sayeed was immediately followed up by raising the kashmir issue once again….A deliberat&calculated move by Islamabad to put India on the backfoot….Sorry to say but they will fail in this kiddish attempt of theirs….India is sick&tired of the melodrama played out by the Pakistani establishment and if they do not show tangible results in the mumbai attacks probe then we need to put our foot down immediately and warn them that things could get ugly…..

I would like to end this post here with the hope that Indo-Pak relations improve fast…….false hope??It is for Gilani&co to back up my hope……..

HURRAY!!!!!

Hi!!!!

I am utterly joyous today!!!!why???cuz the U.P.A. has won the 14th general elections!!!!more importantly, the Congress party has won 203 outta 543 seats….it is the single largest party in india and rightly so…..

This is the first time since 1991 that the INC has done so well…..the party and all its supporters(including yours truly!!)are overjoyed…..

One good trend that has come out of this election is that the national parties i.e.INC+BJP have polled 326 seats between them….it was 274 last time….what this has indicated is that the national parties are again re-emerging and trying hard to make their personal presence felt across the country…

For the past two decades, regional parties had been ruling the roosts quite comfortably which had given them unnecessary wielding power at the centre….this resulted in nervous coalitions where out of duress, the main party had to bow before the wishes of the regional chieftains….not anymore…..

Parties like the Left,AIADMK,BSP,LJP,RJD have suffered ignominous defeats which they`d not have imagined in the wildest of their dreams….what has actually happened is that in the UPA`s 264 tally, INC has 203 hence this will now ensure that the Congress is relatively free to propound and firmly push-up people friendly policies….the country has shown faith in Dr.Manmohan Singh`s govt.&now it is time that the Congress does two MAJOR things:a)Govern ruddy well&b)raise the party`s image&consolidat its base still further so that come general elections 2014, the INC can dream of touching 275 realistically…..

The UPA has worked well in the these 5 years and is reaping the rewards….it should not get complacent cuz it will be butted out the next time….for now, hurrrrrrrraaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!

3-in-a-row…….

Hi….

Three in a row…yup,u heard it right…but who am I talkin of??well,it is Man United none else….for the matter-of-fact,they`ve won their third EPL title in a row today with a 0-0 home draw against Arsenal….

It was exactly three years back that people had well&truly written off Man Utd as a respectable force after 3 seasons without winning the EPL….

How times have changed….Utd have proved their critics to be absolutely wrong!!!!for ardent fans like me,no sweet tastes better than that of seein Utd dominate english football for 3 years….

This season was tough to begin with…Utd weren`t doin very well and were lagging behind the likes of pool and chelski…

Yet,they came back in true Utd style….startin with the CWC championship in Japan, they built up steam and came roaring back to take the lead in the EPL standings….

In march, they had a big blip with 4-1 and 2-0  back-to-back defeats which ended the team`s 22-hr goalless streak….we were shattered i say….a bit worried but confident that they`ll bounce back….

Next game,88 min they were 2-1 down at home against Villa….Ronaldo equalized…93rd min..Giggs fed a 17-year old fella called Federico Macheda…he turned his marker and let in a stunner which resulted in wild and joyous celebrations all round!!!!!

From then on,it was no lookin back and today it was all over!!!!!now barca remain to be conquered and Utd will become the first team to successfully defent their UCL title as well…..

GLORY GLORY MAN UTD…GLORY GLORY MAN UTD….GLORY GLORY MAN UTD….AS THE REDS GO MARCHIN ON ON ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MY teams…….

HI….

After mahesh babu,I would like to talk a bit about my teams…wazzat???well, that basically is a reference to Manchester United,Real Madrid,Mumbai Indians…

These are three teams I am simply mad about…simply.I have followed them from a long time and am mentally a manc,a madridista and a mumbaikar(i live in mumbai)…

I am a passionate guy…and it shows…I do not like to hear anything against my teams and when their matches come,it is like i leave my home and be with them for the time-being…

I have already talked in my previous post about my love for manchester united so I would now talk about Real Madrid and Mumbai Indians….

I have been in mumbai for 7 years now….in this time,I have learnt fat loads from the city and have spent my teenage there…For those who have frequently visited of are inhabitants of the city, what I will say now will be a common thing…for ohters, please read on….

Mumbai is a city which welcomes everyone and upgrades the life of every inhabitant of the city…people who come to stay here never want to leave…I had heard this and when i spent a year I fully believed it….the city is way too close to my heart and so whien the I.P.L.came about, it was but natural that every mumbaikar worth his salt would give unabridged support to the Mumbai Indians, the franchise representing the great city of mumbai….Fittingly,it was Mukesh Ambani,a pride of Mumbai who bought the franchise for a whopping $119,000,000….Last year mumbai indians came fifth yet we were proud of it since after losing the first 4 games,it`d bounced back in true mumbai style to wint the next 6 games….It took a heart-braking 1 run defeat by kings11 punjab to end the hopes of the mumbai based outfit…this year, the I.P.L.is staged in south africa and after 7 games, M.I. have 7 points and are 6th out of a total of 8 teams….the performances so far have been erratic and mumbai maestro Sachin Tendulkar has alluded to the lack of consistency….however,i have very strong reasons+sentiments to believe that mumbai have a very capable team and can win the i.p.l.this time….this has led to some skirmishes with my friends….most of them are primarily fans of delhi, hyderabad and so back their team to the hilt…whenever mumbai loses, they start on me and I do not lose the opportunity to take their mickey whenever their team loses….the banter is truly amazing and sometimes it does get heated…I have been in one when my friends were teasing mumbai`s dismal defeat to bangalore and i snapped….we heatedly argued…twas nice…..my passion stands out in the banter and I guarantee to all that come what may, like a true mumbaikar I will back mumbai to go all the way….

Same goes for Real Madrid…they are not the most attractive team to watch in the Spanish football league but it ain`t that makes me a merengues fan….

Real Madrid till 2003 had a very simple footballing philosophy…if the opposition scores 3, we score 5!!they played swashbuckling football and had the world at their feet…the team comprised Beckham,Figo,Zidane, ronaldo and was well known all over the world….after 2004,this team got disbanded and in 2006 a certain Italian called Fabio Capello took charge of a madrid team which hadn`t won the league in 3 years….

What Don Fabio(as he is nicknamed)did was to transform the lazy and carefree madrid side into a grafter….this was typified in Gonzalo Higuian,an Argentine striker whom Fabio had gotten from Boca Juniors of Argentina….In 2007-08 and 2008-09,Real Madrid stormed back form their trophy drought to win back-to-back la liga titles….

It is this spirit in the madrid team which has seen me be a staunch madridista for the past 7 years……..

In conclusion, all i would like to say is that these teams are something I closely relate to and would always back them…..come what may….I take ur leave now……bbye!!!

MAHESH BABU……

Hi….

I thought i`d return to my pensieve and pour out some thoughts in it….

I have been in contact with andhraites in my college here a lot and one of my friends is a big fan of a particular telugu actor known as MAHESH BABU….

That guy is a close friend of mine and he asked me to sit with him and go through a movie of Mahesh Babu`s….I acquiesed…So,we sat down to watch atthadu i.e.the one….

The movie was a nice one with a decent script and emotive and endearing acting…But that was about the movie…Mahesh Babu with his performance here simply blew me away…I became an instant fan of the guy…Boy,is he cool or what!!!the guy has got good looks,a decent body,he acts well, dances well and his action sequences are really nice…I was taken in and became the latest addition to the Mahesh Babu fan list….Today, I saw okkadui.e.ONE…This role was very much different from the one in atthadu but yet again Mahesh Babu managed to mesmerize me…As you`d have guessed by now,I am a true-blood Mahesh Babu fan and can`t wait to devour his new movie…He has this appeal which is soooo hard to ignore….Ah, i am gushin, ain`t i??Well, before brickbats come my way, lemme change track:-D

Hinduism and Islam-two beautiful religions

Hi!!!

You might be wondering why sudenly I wanna comment on religion but it is something that I have wanted to do in a long time…

Hinduism and Islam are two religions that I am most in contact with and these are two religions which I have discovered to be two very very beautiful and soothing religions which one can follow…

Both these religions are very very old and have ably sustained themselves over the course of the times…There have been additiond and deletions but by and large they have held their own…

I`d like to state that I am a devout Hindu but I follow what all religions preach:we should respect one and all,no religion is superior or inferior and all paths lead to the same:Khuda,Bhagwan,Almighty are but names for the same fella…

The beauty of Hinduism lies in its multi-functionality and Identity…Hindus all over India are different from each other widely and you can`t easily tell whether two persons from delhi and kerala are belonging to the same religion…why??Cuz hinduism is a highly highly flexible religion that allows its followers to be themselves yet to be Hindu simultaneously i.e.it does not impose restrictions on its followers in any respect…that is really a nice thing about it ..i am 20 years old now and have begun to appreciate hinduism…it started way back in history and has been a religion which has always striven to be a learner…it has its faults the biggest of them being the caste system yet its plusses are glaringly more than its minuses…it has not one but loadsa languages…sanskrit in olden times, hindi, marathi, bhojpuri, bengali, oriya, rajasthani and a lot more in present climes…a truly amazing religion…proud to be a Hindu!!

Now to Islam…it is a religion which is widely different in structure and outlook from hinduism yet is a beautiful religion which the earth,I consider was lucky to see on its face…It has arabic, persian, urdu as its languages and the holy Quran as its book…the languages are a level unto themselves…Urdu beng an integral part of India since the 15th century…those who know and understand urdu will agree when I say that it is a stunning language which one is lucky to know…I personally do not know how to read it but I would be happy to..Islam has been a religion widely followed nad will continue to be followed…

Both Hinduism and Islam have in the past few years given rise to extremism which is a shame since thses religions hardly deserve to be stained with the tag of having extremists porfessing their faith to these…Both religions have for long co-existed and impressively complimented each other but sadly hardliners from both religions who have smarted at the synthesis of these two religions have striven to drive these as far apart as possible but it is my firm belief that these two religions who were like twins before will become and will continue to stay as loving and understanding twins who appreciate each other and have no place for malice at all towards one another…I sign off with the hope that people of both religions will jointly kick out those anti-social elements who do not want them to peacefully co-exist…bbye!!!!

MAN UTD::MY BEST CLUB!!!

Hi!!!

Manchester United…ah!!The name itself is enough to bring smiles and a bout of happiness to me(and I suspect to every die-hard supporter of the club)…I do not know how exactly I got to support the club but what I do know is that this club I shall support till my name vanishes from the face of the earth…

It has been around 7 years since I started supporting United and to be honest i have enjoyed every moment of it never ever regretting why I chose this club…

The club has done every good thing in good measure…It has allowed the manager the legendary Sir Alex Ferguson a reign of 22 years in which he has built 3 brilliant teams who have worked ever so hard to make sure Man utd`s trophy cabinet has something to display year after year…Every footballer who has come to the club has fallen in love with the history of the club, the brilliant structure at the club and the quality of the free-flowing,expansive football that Man Utd have played since the 1950s…

The club has always believed in blooding youngsters in the side and Beckham, the Nevilles,Giggs,Scholes,Nicky Butt are prime examples of this…all of these were Utd graduates who went on to help Utd go the treble in 1999 by winning the English league title, the UEFA Champions League, the FA cup…Now again, Fergie has built a young side comprising Rooney,Ronaldo,Fletcher,Johnny Evans,Danny Welbeck who all can easily stay on for 6-7 years and build another all-conquering side.Already this season Utd have won 2 trophies and are well on course to win 3 more thereby doing the quintuple which no club in world football has EVER done…

Well, now that I have given u all a glimpse of Man utd,I am sure some of you shall surely think of being supporters(if you aren`t already!!)..BBYE!!!

MY LIFE AT V.I.T

Hi!!

V.I.T. or Vellore Institute Of Technology is the college in which I am currently studying. This wasn`t my first choice college as I had hopes of getting into IIT and also to an NIT through AIEEE.But as fate was to have it, I landed up here…

The results of VITEEE were declared on 9\5\08 and I had secured 7194 rank meaning I was eligible for the second round of couselling to be held on the 26th of june…

I came with papa and chose EEE(Electronix+Electrical) as my preferred  branch…I had taken electronics in the 12th and so wanted to continue it…

I liked the college the moment I saw it…Vellore was a small town similar to my fav.place Jamshedpur…The college looked nice and plush..

ON the 11th of July, I came here…Alone,I got intimated by the sheer size of the college when I arrived here. But as time wore on, I got used to things and felt happily at home…

The U.S.P.of V.I.T. is its library…It is jus too good..Well-structured,organized,maintained and with great facilities of internet and a wide variety of books, it is a delight for the students…

The other admirable thing here is the maintainance of the place…the outfields are lush and the greenery gets to you…It is a pleasure to roam around such a place where there are trees everywhere and pure air to take in…

The number of students inhabiting the college is immense…For eg. the electrical  branch itself has around 740 students in a year so one can guess aptly that the place is teeming with students…

The population is nicely split wherein North Indians and Andhraites are in an absolute majority…Tamilian students are rare…55%,38%,7% is the split put %age wise…

Personally, I have been quite impressed by the college…The teachers are quite regular and classes take place on time…there are millions of activities that take place regularly in the college but that does not disrupt the flow of teaching at all…

Each branch here has its specific building where all the activities take place…inter-linking is also available…Besides engineering,V.I.T. also offers courses on MBA,Commerce…MBA here is quite decent with the division being the recipient of some noteworthy prizes…

I`d like to stop the post here…..BBYE!!!

The group stages were great to see with some amazing matches on offer. In group A,Portugal were the overwhelming favourites to top.The Czechs and the Turks would battle for the 2nd place. What a game that was!Turkey 3-2 Czech Republic was an amazing game which was ever so exciting. The Turks looked to be going out till Czech goalie Cech Czekmated(:-D)his own team and handed the turks the eqaulizer. They took the momentum and scored another goal to send 6th ranked czechs out!

Group B saw Germanyand England thrashers Croatia battle for 1st place. The Germans lost 2-1.Croatia advanced to the quarters.Germany beat Austria,co-hosts with Switzerland,1-0 to go through.

Group C was the BEST of the lot!!Holland,Italy,France,Romania!Oh man!The Dutch were exhilaratingly amazing!they thrashed Italy 3-0 and France 4-1 comfortably with `Total Football`.They beat Romania 2-0 to easily top the group.France and Romania crashed out and boring Italy went forward.

Group D had Spain,Russia as the best 2 alongside holders Greece and Sweden.Spain played the best football in the group stages alongside the Dutch and easily they topped their group.Russia beat Sweden 2-0 to advance with Spain.

The quarters saw Holland inexplicably lose 3-1 to Russia,Germany outsmart Portugal 3-2,Turkey stage another comeback to beat Croatia 3-1 on penalties and Spain beat Italy 4-2 on penalties.

The semis saw Russia get swept aside by the raging Spaniards,Germany beat turkey 3-2 with the winning goal coming in the 90th minute!!

So came the final.Germany vs.Spain in Vienna.Torres was the star as Spain comfortably beat Germany 1-0 to lift the Henri Delauney trophy for the first time since 1964.They played the best football and won well.

The Euros were great and provided us with amazing football, great goals and exciting games. They rocked!!bye!

Some Musings……….

Hiiiii,

Hello there!!I am back!I have not been blogging since a year!Got a bit busy.Anyways I am back with some musings. This is essentially a collection of my views on a variety of things…

I start this with a post on Kota.It was last year when after not doing so well in my entrance exams,I decided to go to Kota so that I could study well under good teachers and get into IIT.The place by itself is decent but the sheer volume of students is an amazing facet of the city.

Kota thrives on the fact that it is the premier coaching city for IIT-JEE,AIEEE,CPMT etc…Bansal,Resonance,Allen,Career Point etc.are coaching classes which by the dint of their hard work, planning make the students work very hard. The competition amongst the students is very much there and if one tops a test in his batch, one is considered good enough to clear JEE.The lifestyle varies according to the thoughtline of the students. If the student is serious then he will not do too much of masti, outings,Fashion etc.But for those who go there to do timepass for a year, the place offers decent enough chances and places where one can go and enjoy oneself.Food, clothes, mobiles,Net etc.are in abundance there.

Now on to Manchester United. It is a football club based in England. It is very old.It was established in 1878.People mostly know the name because it is one of the biggest, richest clubs in the world. It has a massive fan base across the world with people from Africa,USA,Asia,Europe,South America aware of it.THis is because it does well on two fronts:Marketing and its brand of football. It is the latter which made me into a die-hard supporter of the club. The players, the football style is just stupendous. You`ll never get bored when you watch them play!!They play rich, attacking football and entertain 70,000+people at their home stadium OLD TRAFFORD every week which is an unmatched feat. They have an amazing manager Sir Alex Ferguson who is the heart and soul of the club.I like millions of other Utd supporters watch them play and follow their news because I love the club, the way they play, the players, the stadium and most of all the frenzy that surrounds every match of theirs!

Getting tired:-D.Bbye!!!
