I am against extortion, and for "baksheesh". My argument was that most people confuse the two and club them as bribery. Many people in India say, "we should kill both the bribe giver and taker". I am not saying these are "necessary evils"; I am just pointing out the impossiblity of survival without corruption in politics, and the financial suffering associated with it in conventional society. As for me being immature and simplistic, well thats a personal opinion, and I have not much to say about it. I was just trying to come up workable solutions. As you point out, selling my car (or destroying it for that matter) won’t solve the global problem of CO2 emissions.

Or to a guy who needs to inhale oxygen direct from a tube several times a day just to feel normal.

I have all sorts of dependencies… I can’t even start naming them clearly because it is so much an inseparable part of me!
