To my reckoning, that will be the approximate price of Petrol in Mumbai if government decides to roll back all taxes. How much more goes the government need in taxes from a common man?
Petrol is priced at about Rs. 20 in Malaysia or about Rs. 32 in USA. Wonder where are we heading - are we trying to maintain the prices of petrol to the global benchmark or are we trying to fill government’s pockets which huge revenues it earns in taxes or are we trying to keep the PSUs most profitable companies in the country on expense of the common man.
Why is this information not available upfront on the Ministry of Petroleum website irrespective of citizen’s rights to information? Why has media focused on notifying users on price increases and not on the tax structures on petroleum products?
Would any one want to answer to the common man?
Yes ,You are correct. If Customs/excise and state service taxes are withdrawn ,the fuel prices in chennai would be 19.50 Rs.This data has been come to know to the general public thru the loud cry given by the LEFT.They are the ony one in politics (not our oppsition)giving their voice for the sake of comman man.
We are supposed to be the most democratic country in the world but little do we know that petrol is available in the other parts equivalent to 12-15 ruppes also as i do drive the car on the same petrol so i still do not find why and whom are we taking for a ride. Better call it auto—–cratic to drive a car. All personal car owners good news there will be a day so that new inventions and discoveries make todays cars petrol free so therefore no taxes to be payed also all the best to the car owners forum find alternatives for your cars do not wait for the Demo- cratic rulers to make the fuels tax free. a word of caution
hiya…in the UK, the price of fuel is 90 Rs per litre……! The USA and other countries have it cheap indeed….the govt here taxes to the hilt…and then some…!
Thanks for the info. I really had no idea about the price of petrol in other countries. I think I will migrate to Malaysia if i want to drive a car
I think this s a burning issue…ther was some sort of a campaign thru email last yr, and also this yr, exhorting people not to buy petrol on one day, ie, sept 22(i hope i am correct) in order to attract the govt” s attention…wonder if it will succeed in its goal. But definitely warrants a serious thought!
Well, if the things wud have been so transparent then no problem wud have been here………
