Kommon Maan. Tell me R K Laxman’s Kommon Man made him richi and continue to make him richier while K Man become porer and porer. Anyway, I appreciate your highlighting “Common Man” and “Indian Kulture” at a time where all the gospels appearing in various blogs sound like a poor sister of the Western Gospels and Western Morality packaged in an Indian style. Amidst love..luv…we have forgotten that the most rare species going to become extinct on earth is a Kommon man with the innocense and sensitivity and strong Kommon sense as ToI’s common man.

I am not exicited about your article on common man. Please give some very interesting anecdotes, or some thing new which is not revealed by laxman. one question : once he says he got married at the age of 27, in 1951. Who is this kamala laxman ? A classical dancer ? or a mere house wife ? why she is never shown her photo ? This is the real mistery of R.K.Laxman

A great Island and it has been a real pleasure dropping by. As regards your comments on a K series, you should remember that TV and films depict a world of make believe. In today’s fast and furious world of the DINK (Double income no kids) and DISK( Double income single kid), the modern generation does not even have the memories of pickle and papad making at home, joint families and nana/nani ki kahaniyan. Our memories are full of dominating mothers in law, interfering fathers or cometitive siblings. In a life dominated by the daily commute and a constant strife to make the monthly pay cheque greater than the instalment, the magic reel stories of the business magnates and the happy families in the Kserials give an elixir and a dose of escapism to a greedy viewrship struck down by the monotony of their daily life.

Do a river remember all the drop of the water flows through it?
Does a tree remember all the leaves that fall?
Can a mountain remember all the stones fallen from its top?
Can the sun remember all the rays gone out of him?
Can you my dear friend remember me from out of your many friends? Joy
