1 day after Republic

January 27th, 2009

Hi,
I was just writing on a non indian website. Once i had written the title, it hit me, its sutiable for here alone. - 1 day after republic.

We are a republic. A country. INDIA. I love this land.

How does it feel to be a part of India.  Since childhood, i have been given the distinction to see the part of real world. I was fortunate to not to be there during the floods of bihar. I was not so lucky to know how the country was growing in banglore or mumbai. But i do could see that things were changing, meeting my cousins who were  fluent in english, while i was still learning to stabilize my pace of speaking. But yes, india was changing, this i could understand.

As per MLK’s words, yes, we have been fortunate to be born on this land at this time, we have had the fortune of knowing a world which are undreamt ever. I know, the real world, the real pleasures of life are still  a cloud for us all. For some even food is a far away cloud.

This question has always spanked me- if everything is going great, why is not everybody doing the same way. For years, i have heard the explanations, i still get to hear the same, when i interect with the same kind of people. It is because they are lazy, it is because they are not ready, it is because someone is not working right, somebody up the ladder is not doing correct. Some say this is the way capitalism works.  I doubted there words then. Today, i don’t even pay attension. I want to write, they are wrong.

Those who keep on saying that the world went wrong due to capitalism, let me remind them of the india that was, ultra rich verses bonded labour. Godly Bhramins verses untouchables. It was us not some US.  If the same was the case: how many of us could imagine a cheap way to speak with the daughter a 1000 kilometers away.

I don’t say what has happened around is great, sweat shops in indonesia, the genocides in Darfur, Uganda, Bolivia, Dead economies of zimbabwe, liberia, sudan. Cultural and natural depletion of great amazon cultures,  DR congo, egypt. All have also been a part of  the regime.
” Don’t spend your life counting the weeds, sow the seeds, grow the grains. a land with crop is alway better then a barren land without weeds.”

That is a message which i dare to spread, don’t just count the weeds, grow on your land. Dont use the medicines which will not let the bad grow, but feed it with fruits which will help us grow more, grow the eatables.

It has been proved again-n-again, india does not grow less, it does not have less man power, it does not have no drinking water, it does not suffer with lack of resources. It has everything, but it’s people lack everything. I do not have the answers, i don’t even indent to do so. I intend to do my job. I intend to do my work, my machines, my equipments and my words. Answers- we have produces several, remember your school, college- anything that has the key words earns marks, anything that gets you the final answe is correct. There are marks even if you just get the answers. Write long answers, write useful only at starting and at the end, highlight was is correct and right anything anywhere. I remember, i don’t know if all were taught the same, but i was. I dare to not to believe them. I dare to change. I have lost a lot doing so. But i have found a world better always, i do have been allowed by god to know some man who beleive like me, work not like it was taught in school. I have met people and they are the happiest men i have seen till this time.

Times will change for us all, they will for me. But i dream a new world,  a world, where i will have a better look at myself, where i can dare to smile and say good morning to anybody i meet on a street without fear. And i am asured that one day we will live in a world where people will have the right to love and and the right to freedom. I love my machines and love my country.

Jai Hind.

Homework! A Torture of its kind 2

January 20th, 2009

Hi,
So, i am being asked, what’s the difference. Well, lets take the same kid to higher classes or to college else to external life. Since his childhood, he has been doing the same things and nothing else all the time in his world. Now when he is given any freedom first thing that gets embedded in his mind is a blockage. Even if i do it correct, i will be doing it again at the other place. your need of tution is born from here. A child who is not grown up- now you get busy. But his mind is still the same in concepts. He learns something in school, now it needs a confermation, it needs a repeat in a different enviorment, even if the lesson is simple to make it accepted, he now needs to get back to the full, at a place which is different than school. Since you will not help, HE HAS GROWN UP. He needs to manage himself. Which his mind rejects- only and the possible alternative is tution. And thus it becomes a compulsion.

Amazing- a child leaning one thing at school, repeating it at a tution, rerepeating it at a tution. The same thing.( Which i personally believe is garbage from the starting) and the same thing all the time.
What good is that guy for a good and real life- what the hell are you making him. And let me tell you one thing with the development of faster computers and robots- first thing that is going to deplete will be us- INDIANS, because that is what we and our damn education and social systems is building, biological computers, robots which can calculate the data. Can do mind labour work.

Choose.
If you find me wrong, pls communicate.

Homework! A Torture of its kind

January 14th, 2009

Hi,

Had a training yesterday. A man who transformed the way i worked and thought of work.

” Safety begins at home” that’s the message that has always been conveyed throught his meetings.

Currently i am also in tip toe condition, but as i am beginning to realize there is too much more in life then just living it. There is a lot of fun that we all miss, there is a lot of fun that we never think of, always busy in doing things. Doing something that if not done doesn’t make much of difference but if not done leave a lot of blank space in  terms of time and life.

It’s bad, it’s wrong - it is embedded in our education system, and slowly has become a part of our daily life and society. Just think about it! what in the world does a child get by doing homework. You say- practice! a method of revision! Think again- a child’s brain is developing, it does not have an independent data storage system. It learns by associating data to events. In simple words, It learns ABCD by associating it with the classroom it is sitting in, it learns the same by sitting with his mates. You give him home work, well now he is relearning it reassoiciating with the family he is sitting with. So you have not reenforsing the data: we are creating a new data with family in backgroud.

Imagine the confusion we are putting a small vulnarable brain by making him store same information at varied locations and whole day long. It is like i am copying and recopying same forder again n again. What else will he learn, where will he learn, how will he learn.

Ever thought about it, why do we speak and think the same thing differently at different place. Don’t believe me?? …Try to write a letter in english addressing your closest person. Once when you are sitting in office canteen with a subject, once you are done, close the page and put it in your bag. Now go back to home and write the same thing just when you are with your family, then next day read both. Now make your child do the same- once at a playground/ carnival/school and then at home.

…you will see what i mean.

Stop torturing your own child. Let him grow: He is your own blood.

Dreams and reality

January 6th, 2009

Hi,

First of all, wishing you all a great new year ahead. Wishing you all a great day ahead too.

I am writing after a month or so. Expressions take time with me. I feel haunted by the last speech by Mr. Marthin Luther King Jr. “ I have seen the promised Land”. It is not that i read it sometime nearby. I read it a several months back. It is now that i understand the meaning of the same.

I hold no peace. Never means that i am at distress. It just means it is not I, not a person alone who holds the truth.

Read an article on Mr Adani.- When the situations was so that he could not choose out of the two, it was intution that helped to choose.

I rose is still pending- never means that it has not been accepted. but no love can be completed, untill it is given.

Change the dream:  Anyone out with me, blaming the world out there for anything, read the words- it is what you dreamt for. The world is what you wanted it to be. The world is what you and i wanted it to be.

Next time I go to sleep, i am not dreaming for guns, massacre, blood, i am wishing for any war to take place. I am dreaming for the kid next doors to smile and get an education. I am dreaming for the lady near by to be happy with her family. I am dreaming for not an india which defeats its rivals, I am dreaming for an India which grows with everyman who has been born on this sacred land.
