a point- II

February 26th, 2011

Hi,

What was it that I was thinking while I was crossing the street. I was thinking of the world. I was thinking of what this country gave the billions for free. Freedom.
I too doubt, a few times, did we get our independence for free.

Here is a point for the economists who wish to pursue the American way of economics, the Keynesian economics. The history, the people. They had more then 200 years of independence and struggles, making of country behind them. When they decided to inflate the economy for permanent. they had, by God’s will or effort, a sound society, a culture with them. Money and off course, knowledge that does not have a character base behind it bring in evil. You want to bring in lot of money, fine! You want to
let people make a lot of money, fine!
But character of nation, character of people, character of society should receive a lot of importance too. Do not forget what happened out there in Latinos, Do not overlook the state the African nations are in. Do not act blind to the state CIS nations are
rising from, do not over look the pain Asia-Pacific people have risen from. We may be large but we are made of people. And if you do not pay attention on letting people know of their joint responsibility towards the social. There is no bottom to the hole.

Economic development has never bothered me. When I talked of greed in last few articles, it was a try to quick fix. To let people know that there is something going wrong.
But it won’t work for permanent. And there is no surety that someone will speak.
You need a social structure that understands, that loves it soil. a society that must understand that soil loves back. What you receive today was planted by our fore fathers. You, we, have to plant too. That character has to be given impotence.

One fine example is the CWG games. Was it only one man? was it only a small no of greed driven people? Or was it all a foreign affair? It had us in it. It had people,
who knew they were about to blow away the reputation of this country. They have families too. Did the men who built those sub-standard structures not Indian?
were those who supervised or checked not us? A lot many of them were learned people.
Why did none objected? Can I not say- they did not care?

And that is the truth, CARE. and that does not come from UP there. It comes from IN there. And that is what has to be built first, or at least along with. Building character is not a matter of money, it is a matter of choice. And it needs efforts. And certainly, if you are not pumping up your children with character, if you are not pumping up your students with character. Then it is you who is responsible. If your or your neighbor’s girl is teased over in the bus.

And I repeat, it can’t be pushed in, it is built inside. Government is a new concept, building character was there even there was none. That makes it our responsibility.
Our choice & our job.

a point

February 26th, 2011

Hi,

Started late today. woke up in the evening. decided to have a bit of food and took my way to here. Was just thinking about what to write?
Before sleeping, was going through economic survey reports. Also had a bit about Libya,
thought about punching in a poem about that, while on my way in the bus heading towards station found the crowd interesting. Well it was, so many people heading back to meet their family or simply end the day. Was thing a bit about the survey reports and trying to connect them both. to find something to write about.
Then suddenly, i saw a young lady getting up feeling a bit uneasy. She had to climb up crossing a young chap. and I could understand when i could feel the blood in her eyes, once she had completed the ordeal.

By chance that guy and me both got down at the same stop. Yeah! I asked that guy, why the hell was he thing. . and he was adamant that there is nothing wrong in what he did.
I mean he was too sure what he did- nothing was wrong. I look around and their was the third guy who also got down. And he asked me back- what problem do I have, if it happened. A bit amazed- i tried to get clear. Asked him bluntly- do you say that feeling a woman who is just trying to get past is correct?
Well, he was sure- with his reply. “bilkul sahi hai”. Bloody, did I not miss having strength to nail him down. I missed it big. I did not know should i take him to the nearby police men and discuss with them. I just was not too sure. I am stranger myself.

I surely missed a world while growing. I surely missed a lot. Is it sure that we are all growing right. Were the ragging classes, whose lessons, I did not accept in college correct?
was I a fool? I thought for a few second until I had to prioritize crossing through the traffic.

Economics! you stand a step back please, Because, right now, I have something more important in my head.

a term

February 17th, 2011

Courage that is the word.
I can’t write more, but that is the word- courage. Everything can and does goes wrong.
Things never turning out to be what you planned. But that is what plans are for. to know that things are going out of control. A successful plan is a seldom occurrence in my life.
I disliked myself for failing, but as i learned it is normal.
Courage is not something I can write about. It is one thing I need to practice.

they mean a bit to everyone

February 16th, 2011

I wonder what should I write.
there is a silence around me. Silence I can not understand but I do feel it.
Cloud filled skies, sunshine breathing through. When i woke up today, I wanted to write poems
with theme ‘time”. Left my house in hurry to reach here. Then i thought about writing an article
about character. By the time, i reached here, to the cafe. I held no words with me.
They all disappeared into the sky. Returned, leaving me with my old friend, silence.

This is what I call as entrapment. The daily life, you are so busy living through each day,
what goes out there in the world is no longer what you care about. I mean, the little time you have, you wish to spend it living. How cares? what happens in a village 1000 km away, or what goes on over those mountains, or the green valleys. Sometimes this daily life is so much encapsulating, that you can’t even think about what goes out in your neighborhood. The Trees, that won’t even say hello! there is no way they pass into our mind. There they were, there they are not. Country!! I pay taxes right. Government! Hey I said I paid taxes right.
It’s nobody’s fault. Nobodies. The silence is encapsulating. I can listen to my own breath.

Outside, it is shaded with clouds. The day for lovebirds. For a few, it is just a normal day.
For a few there is economy to ponder upon (hope they took a break and enjoyed the simple things)

Now I got sun peaking through and the wall in front is bathing with yellow. What difference does it make, I can listen to a few giggles next to me. A song, a few guys chatting next to me.
As i said, a day carries different meaning for different people…

It is life.. it is just a day.

with cheers,

Wishing love

February 13th, 2011

I will be frank.
I really don’t know what love means. What I know a bit is pain. Tomorrow being a lover’s day, i won’t express pain.
My wishes to all those who have been blessed with the divine touch of love.
while tomorrow I will be living my normal day, i hope you all find the joy & passion
that makes love so intimate, so holy.
Glow like a rose tomorrow. Glow with a smile. Glow looking at those eyes who remind
of your own infinite. Or simply to feel that touch what makes you shiver.

Happy valentine’s day.
with love

one step at a time

February 12th, 2011

Hi,

It’s been a  week since  I wrote something. It feels odd to not to write. I never was satisfied with a life,
which included going to office, returning back  eating, sleeping then again eating than back to work.
But that is what I do, that is I think is called a test, doing what you don’t like, still doing it. Until you find a way out

A very old friend of mine, Colin, taught me this is what is life. it is not settling, it is about the waves. It is about the living not the daily stuff. What goes in your books as an experience, as joy, as contribution is
what life is about. It is about this challenge. Though I kept on failing him. But then again he  used to     write- that is good.

I am no longer troubled with what I have right now. This is called learning. To loose then earn back.
Not what you had, but better.  Fall but rise.

The Price Game: a new game in town

February 6th, 2011

Hi,
To  those who matter  & who have the muscles The whole post is summarized with the following points-
1. Instability creates blankness.
2. Cycling creates money from blankness.
4. It is foolish to fill the blankness with money, because
3. blankness never defines the end, it results from cycling. that means blankness returns.

If you have understood, no need to read ahead. you will only get more confused.
—————————————————————————————————————————————

My full post would have looked different
But yesterday I got to read Honorable Prime Minister’s latest address-
We need to concentrate on Agriculture. And  I could feel he meant business.
—————————————————————————————————————————————

Let me move ahead step by step
While and after the Greed series of posts. I read a lot many articles which attended to inflation issue.
Most of the articles seem to highlight one thing only-
1. the inflation is global. We have to face it.
2. There have been failed crops, we have to face it.
3. It will take time, we have to face it.

In short, i read none saying why we have to face it? Why did it come to it? what could have been done to stop it? what could be done for it not to happen again.?  I respect all their views.  They are all correct. But the analysis was based on the figures available out in open. They did a good job analyzing the figures.
But one thing that did hurt was ” we have to face it”. I mean if people like me, who have no
say in banking, no do in banking or the systems. Who can only pay and then purchase whatever market tells us to. say ” we have to face it”. I would have accepted it. But the people whose signature, whose voice, orders speak like that- It hurts. It makes us people who pay for them feel stupid. (why are they writing, if they won’t write that “we have to face it” we will still pay, why to make us more aware of our misery)

A few points for the people with data to consider-
1. Can u really control inflation? If there is a upward fluctuation in prices, by applying
control measures, can we bring the upward swing to zero? I mean by applying control measures, can the upward swing be nullified?
2. If the inflation was solely based on supply, demand of the respective goods. why did the inflation
reduce for two consecutive weeks, then increased again, even though  the imported goods were
arriving in the market?
3. Are the farmers about to be hit by too lower selling prices in relation with the relief received by the consumer?
4. Why is global price index increasing, nearly, in all the developing countries. Even though they are doing better?
5. Why are prices of Other “Non- Food” products increasing? They were not hit by rain? And if you say
that Higher food inflation is going to increase inflation index of “non- food” material
Why can’t the reverse be true?

———–

A very important question which arises from point no. 4. If high food inflation can increase the inflation
of other commodities,  why can’t we use the inflation of these other commodities to reduce food inflation. (Until it diminishes with higher supplies)

—————-

Honorable Prime Minister’s vision of paying attention on agriculture is deeper then we all imagine.
It is not only about increasing supplies, it also focuses on long term, in controlling prices.

with new shoes(sort of)

February 6th, 2011

HI,

Well, finally got my paycheck. That means that I have got some bucks to access net at a cyber cafe,  until & off course till the time, it hits my daily bread-butter expenses.
It it tough, but well that is the way it. is.  while I was writing(january) I had a day or two to smile as prices had fallen to about 50%( of increased prices). Yup!  I was smiling, until my phone went missing. and left me with  the option of watching the game. And well the prices went up again(very soon). :)

to be frank my last post was  on 20th Jan. the 25th january post was a rescheduled post.. written well before 20th January. (other two were just a two liners written while I jumped up and down in my job schedule, stolen from my sweet sleep)

Well there will again be a few posts on economics. and then back to my favorite- poetry.

I won’ promise that I would be writing regularly, but on my week offs I do will write.  (hard to steal minutes, when even I don’t find them)

with love and smiles,
