Think Before You Talk

Once upon a time an old man spread rumors that his neighbor was a thief. As a result, the young man was arrested. Days later the young man was proven innocent. After been released he sued the old man for wrongly accusing him

In court the old man told the Judge: ‘They were just comments, didn’t harm anyone..’

The judge, before passing sentence on the case, told the old man:
‘Write all the things you said about him on a piece of paper. Cut them up and on the way home, throw the pieces of paper out. Tomorrow, come back to hear the sentence.’

The next day, the judge told the old man: ‘Before receiving the sentence, you will have to go out and gather all the pieces of paper that you threw out yesterday.’

The old man said: ‘I can’t do that! The wind spread them and I won’t know where to find them.’

The judge then replied: ‘The same way, simple comments may destroy the honor of a man to such an extent that one is not able to fix it. If you can’t speak well of someone, rather don’t say anything.
.

‘Let’s all be masters of our mouths, so that we won’t be slaves of our words.’

So Think Before You Talk.

PROBLEM SOLVING…

A new manager spends a week at his new office with the manager he is replacing. On the last day the departing manager tells him, “I have left three numbered envelopes in the desk drawer. Open an envelope if you encounter a crisis you can’t solve.”

Three months down the track there is a major drama, everything goes wrong - the usual stuff - and the manager feels very threatened by it all. He remembers the parting words of his predecessor and opens the first envelope. The message inside says “Blame your predecessor!” He does this and gets off the hook.

About half a year later, the company is experiencing a dip in sales, combined with serious product problems. The manager quickly opens the second envelope. The message read, “Reorganize!” This he does, and the company quickly rebounds.
Three months later, at his next crisis, he opens the third envelope. The message inside says

“Prepare three envelopes“.

USED VS LOVED

While a man was polishing his new car,
his 4 yr old son picked up a stone
and scratched lines on the side of the car.

In anger, the man took the child’s hand

and hit it many times not realizing
he was using a wrench.

At the hospital, the child lost all his fingers

due to multiple fractures.

When the child saw his father…..

with painful eyes he asked, ‘Dad when will my fingers grow back?’

The man was so hurt and speechless;

he went back to his car and kicked it a lot of times.

Devastated by his own actions……

sitting in front of that car he looked at the scratches;

the child had written ‘LOVE YOU DAD’.
The next day that man committed suicide. . .

Anger and Love have no limits;

choose the latter to have a beautiful, lovely
life & remember this:

Things are to be used and people are to be loved.
The problem in today’s world is

that people are used while things are loved.

Let’s try always to keep this thought in mind:

Things are to be used,
People are to be loved.

Watch your thoughts; they become words.
Watch your words; they become actions.
Watch your actions; they become habits.
Watch your habits; they become character;
Watch your character; it becomes your destiny.

I’m glad a friend forwarded this to me as a reminder..

I hope you have a good day no matter what problems you may face

it’s the only day you’ll have before it’s over

GOOD neighbors

There was a farmer who grew superior quality and award-winning corn.
Each year he entered his corn in the state fair where it won honor and prizes.

One year a newspaper reporter interviewed him and learnt something interesting about how he grew it. The reporter discovered that the farmer shared his seed corn with his neighbors.

“How can you afford to share your best seed corn with your neighbors when they are entering corn in competition with yours each year?” the reporter asked.

“Why sir,” said the farmer, “didn’t you know? The wind picks up pollen from the ripening corn and swirls it from field to field. If my neighbors grow inferior, sub-standard and poor quality corn, cross-pollination will steadily degrade the quality of my corn.

If I am to grow good corn, I must help my neighbors grow good corn.”

The farmer gave a superb insight into the connectedness of life. His corn cannot improve unless his neighbor’s corn also improves. So it is in the other dimensions! Those who choose to be at harmony must help their neighbors and colleagues to be at peace. Those who choose to live well must help others to live well. The value of a life is measured by the lives it touches.

Success does not happen in isolation. It is very often a participative and collective process. So share the good quality corn…..

Live with no excuse & Love with no regrets, when life gives u a hundred reasons to cry, show life that u have thousand reasons to smile.
