Mumbai in Distress again

There is a hard felt anguish and anger which at the present moment should be channelized into something constructive by the impotent leaders of our country. Being an Indian, I would like to question the media who is hyping “Mumbaikar” (Is it just the concern of Mumbai or Mumbaikaars) —– Why are we talking about attack on Mumbai or just the Mumbaikar being affected? Isn’t it an attack on the sovereignity of India and all the Indians? Aren’t we people, living in other parts of India equally  disgusted with whatever is happening to our motherland? Don’t these ghastly and dastardly attacks repeatedly undermine the democratic value of our country as a whole?

It is a shame that we are considered to be such soft targets throughout the world. At this point, I would like all the people of the nation to stand united and reject all the political parties which are engaged in the slangwhang match be it Mulayam Singh, Raj Thackrey, Narendra Modi, Vilas Rao Deshmukh etc. Shouldn’t every body rise above the petty politics and religion, and think about the country as their prime responsibility? Instead of accumulating land acquisitions and money shouldn’t they pay more attention to the cost of a human life?

This anger should be reaped and its flame should keep burning in our heart and not snuffed out with the passage of time. Isn’t it high time that Pakistan should be asked to either take strict action against the perpetrators of this attack or else our armed forces will step in destroy them? We have no grudges against the citizens of Pakistan but we will not spare the terrorists or let them live anywhere in the world…

All the countries in the world consider India to be a joke, though having one of the largest armies in the world but lame politicial leadership with no guts at all!

Today we are talking about Mumbai, but what about Delhi, Jaipur, Guhawati, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad? Hasn’t the time come for the political leadership to be held accountable? Shouldn’t there be a process by which the a new referendum is taken and these politicians be voted out ?

We Indians are compelled to have captive power generation, captive water supply, private schools, costly healthcare, rampant bribery and now should we keep our private commandos for our security? Has our nation stooped to this level?

P.S. This blog holds angry statements of my husband, who is equally disturbed by the recent events.

Mumbai in distress

As I tune into my television set, I feel jostled by the happenings in Mumbai!

Lot of thoughts come streaming in my mind, is our security system so weak that we cannot combat a few terrorist? Our weapons and machineries are so obsolete that they cannot compete the weapons of the terrrorists? Is there any law and order? Is our country so feeble that it cannot effeciently retaliate to the attack of terrorists? Where is Raj Thakery now? Would he mind if the non-marathis poured in to save Mumbai? Why didn’t he, a pure marathi, be the first one to take the first bullet on his body when the rest of his fellowmates sustained the attack?

I strongly feel like a fool sitting at home and watching it all happen there, whereas we all should be there in action… I feel a strong need to learn to handle the weapons and fight back with the army men out there. How can we let all this happen to our country! Even if I strongly desire to retaliate, I would be held back for the sake of my kids… but what about all those innocent lives being a prey to the terrorists? What about all my relatives, friends and countrymen in Mumbai?

At times I feel like a perfect fool asking God to set everything right instead of confronting the situation with valor! But we cannot deny that God is watching and each terrorist will be deemed for his doing! Oh God, crush terrorism and long live goodness!

A salute to all the security forces, soldiers and commandos who gave their lives for the sake of our Mumbai waasi! May the souls of all those who lost their lives in this entire episode, rest in peace. May peace prevail…always.

A sweet note and a hearty laugh

Hi friends

I am back after a long time to share a good and a  funny experience with you…

Last night my husband’s friend Mrs. and Mr. XYZ came to invite us for their relative’s wedding party. Surprisingly , I met them for the first time and discovered something really interesting.

This lively couple still sends each other love letters and mails, even though they are living together!!!!!!!!! Mr. X writes limmericks for his dear wife and the wifey in turn leaves love notes in crazy places like trouser pockets, briefcase,  in  between the hanky, in the newspaper, in the wallet, shirt pocket etc etc… When I asked why they did this even after 10 years of their married life… their answer was… to keep the zing in their married life!

Wow, wasn’t that a great idea!

AND NOW COMES ANOTHER EXPERIENCE (Funny) THAT HAPPENED FEW WEEKS AGO

My neighbour Mrs. TQS bought a new cell phone and was literally flaunting the new gizmo. Next day when I went to visit her, she was busy scanning for something. When I asked she said, “Oh, I have forgotten where I kept the mobile!”

I tried to calm her and suggested her to send a missed call at the cell no.

“Hope you haven’t put that on the silence mode?” I asked.

“Na na don’t worry, it rings loudly,” she said.

She called her 19 year old servant and ordered him ” Phone bell ki awaz sunte hi  dekhna aawaaz kahan se aa rahi hai aur phone la kar mujhe de dena.”

So the three of us were all set to trace the cellphone with the strike of the bell. I typed the number and actually it buzzed loudly. The servant and myself looked around because the ring was clearly audible and  seeing Mrs. TQS scream and then laugh and then going all red, as the phone rang, we all understood… she placed it in her oversized upper compartment (her blouse), which vibrated and rang like a church bell  LOL.

It was such an embarassing moment for Mrs. TQS, myself and the servant ofcourse! The servant immediately left the room only to leave me laughing my gut out.

Mrs. TQS’s expression was such as if she would just bury herself in the ground out of embarassment but then she generously laughed aloud  joining me till our eyes  filled with tears of laughter!

We had a hearty laugh of our lifetime!

Next day Mrs. TQS came to my house and the moment I opened the door she showed me her new jazzy mobile case and I began laughing again, “Good, so now you have ultimately learnt which case is meant for what!”

And we ended our conversation laughing again, like crazy…

Great Human beings

Hello friends

I just scribbled this piece, pardon me if I went off track. I know most of you will doze off but there may be a few who might go through it and comment or add their own philosophy to it. The topic is such that I my pen wouldn’t stop or say, my hands and the bubbling thoughts would go on and on…

I am sure you would like to add to what I wrote, go ahead do so… and if someone really finds it good enough please edit it for me plzzzzzzzzzz. I think it needs to be properly organized…

So here it goes…………………………………………………………………

What Beautiful creatures are we

What beautiful creatures are we- The Human Beings!

We have the power of vivid imagination, of love, passion and compassion

We have the power to make others happy, gloomy and sad

We can be someone's inspiration, victory or just a sweet dream!

We can sense the pathos, shed tears in sorrow and also laugh aloud

We can resist, we can yield

What wonderful beings are we!

We can use our limbs and body fantastically for gentle and strong emotions

And also for good and bad deeds

We can touch the sky, while on ground, our feet we keep

We nag, we brag, we complain for so many things we lack

We can hurt others still nothing can soothe us better than human beings

What amazing creatures are we!

A gentle touch, a sweet nuzzle, a bear hug or a little peck

Can brighten us all

Some us of have the power to do wonderful things in a quickie

Some may lag behind and choose to go slow and steady!

Though we are same skin, bones and blood

But still, we all are unique in our own special way!

Some seek perfection, some compromise

Some leave it on destiny

And wait for a magical wand to make their future shine

What marvellous creatures are we!

We can be humorous, we can be witty, and we can be intelligent

But at times also dumb as we can ever be!

We can appreciate, we can criticize

We can spit fire and also be kind

We can love the invisible and also

Love the virtual

And of course all that what's real

Oh my God, what fascinating beings are we!

We can trust, we can betray

We can fight and also make peace

We can forgive and forget

We have the power to vividly imagine

 Anything that can be

We can experience spirituality

In certain bonding and also in simplicity!

Wow, what spiritual creatures are we!

We are always kids at heart

Whatever age may be

We love to love and be loved

At any age we be!

We bite, we sting, we fight, we kill we also show love

We all have animal instincts

We blossom like a flower

We patiently endure like a tree

We bear fruit, we attract butterflies and bees

We provide shelter and comfort

We love nature

And Mother Nature says

What loving creatures are thee!

Our emotions are like seasons

We are warm like summers

Cold like winters

We cry like the rain

Rejoice like spring

And like the thunder we show our fury

Satan amazingly looks at us and says:

Eh God! What an artistry!!!!!!

The Ripples

The Ripples

A ripple in the still waters, the waters though calm runs deep. It's the ripples that animate the surface of the water with joy, sorrow, excitement or grief.

The ripples indicate the turmoil on earth; they also signify the victory of the kingfisher that dexterously dives to catch its prey.

It's an awesome sight when waters dance whenever someone tosses a stone in the river. An amateur may form just one ripple but a maestro may form several such ripples in a row that too with a single throw!

How wonderful are these ephemeral ripples, each ring forming a face happy, gloomy, angry, ugly, beautiful or smiling, the way the onlooker perceives!

The good and bad times in our life are just like these short lived ripples see how beautifully the water balances them both and maintains its tranquillity and when again the wind does softly blow, the water again enjoys the ballet of these small and big ripples.

What a lovely sight it is to see a dried leaf bid farewell to the tree and ultimately caress the river that flowed down its tree. Its undying romance for the water, which it always ogled at when on the tree Now is the time to finally find solace in the arms of the water, which humbly offers her the coffin (ripple) on which it will gently float its last journey
