Tara’s Oblivion

Tara’s oblivion

It has been ages since I blogged…decades since I read anyone’s blog…I apologize dear friends for being away and not reading and commenting on your blogs….how I wish Iland was the way it was earlier…sometimes change is not all that welcome but we have to adjust to changes…somehow i always prefer the older version better, full of warmth and so much personalized.

Here typing few lines just to get the hang of blogging…dunno whether i will ever be able to write again the way I used to in full swing but we all bounce back, so here is an effort to write something imaginative, read on and let me know if you like what i wrote at the spur of the moment…

Tara sat by the river and kept looking at the azure sky, no lover to think of, no dreams  to dream, no aspirations, no desires, she kept gazing at the sky till it turned dark…She could not feel the sunset, the twilight, the stars that twinkled to make her eyes blink, nor could she see or hear or see the birds returning to their nests….she just gazed and gazed into the nothingness of the sky till a drop from nowhere fell on her right eyelid to wake her from her deep oblivion.
“Ah! Its night, what did I do all this while?”
She looked around, the stillness scared her, the buzzing of the insects , the cry of the wolves, the sound of the dried foliage being crushed by footsteps unnerved her and she didn’t know the way back home. The forest nearby was never so scary. She heard footsteps from the forest, her heart thumped as the sound of horse’s gallop was more clear and neared her…her body numb, feet refused to budge and tearing the forests like a storm, a man sitting on a dark brown horse appeared  and stopped straight in front of her…
Tara screamed aloud but the man gagged her mouth with his palm.
“Shh, the police are following me, save me please” pleaded the man.
Tara’s eyes darted, first to realize that he was a convict and then that his hand pressed her mouth too hard. She was sweating out of fear but was relieved when he asked for help.
“You are asking help from a girl who knows no place to hide, I am lost myself.”
They could hear several gallops from the forest nearing them.
Without wasting a second, the man carried Tara on the horseback and dashed ahead, away, far away…
