On leave

Dear friends

Within this short span of time I have been fortunate to come across so many wonderful people on this iland. It seems like a part of family. I have enjoyed reading each one’s blog and comments. Thanks a lot for encouraging me to write. I have been keeping quite busy for past a month, so not been able to comment on some of my friends blogs esp. Samiran Sarkar’s short story, which I promised to read but couldn’t . I still owe it to you Samiran. And many thanks to Ranjit for adding my fav devotional song on his blog (you tube). Those interested , please do hear it by visiting Ranjit’s iland or click on the link below

Mumbai in distress

As I tune into my television set, I feel jostled by the happenings in Mumbai!

Lot of thoughts come streaming in my mind, is our security system so weak that we cannot combat a few terrorist? Our weapons and machineries are so obsolete that they cannot compete the weapons of the terrrorists? Is there any law and order? Is our country so feeble that it cannot effeciently retaliate to the attack of terrorists? Where is Raj Thakery now? Would he mind if the non-marathis poured in to save Mumbai? Why didn’t he, a pure marathi, be the first one to take the first bullet on his body when the rest of his fellowmates sustained the attack?

I strongly feel like a fool sitting at home and watching it all happen there, whereas we all should be there in action… I feel a strong need to learn to handle the weapons and fight back with the army men out there. How can we let all this happen to our country! Even if I strongly desire to retaliate, I would be held back for the sake of my kids… but what about all those innocent lives being a prey to the terrorists? What about all my relatives, friends and countrymen in Mumbai?

At times I feel like a perfect fool asking God to set everything right instead of confronting the situation with valor! But we cannot deny that God is watching and each terrorist will be deemed for his doing! Oh God, crush terrorism and long live goodness!

A salute to all the security forces, soldiers and commandos who gave their lives for the sake of our Mumbai waasi! May the souls of all those who lost their lives in this entire episode, rest in peace. May peace prevail…always.
