Almost all heroes in fiction have been described to be tall, dark and handsome, and only then have they been able to woo the fairer sex and attract attention. This applies to the real world as well. Most men in this world are depressed and suffer a huge inferiority complex because they have shorter heights. Undersized females too envy their counterparts, as they can see the clear discrimination and the favors being doled out on the better ones, while they sulk and suffer in silence. To make things worse, certain lucrative industries clearly quote a particular height as a prerequisite for placements, and this leaves the others feeling as losers for no fault of theirs.
While there is nothing magical one can do or could have done in the past, as this physical characteristic is sometimes genetic, one can still understand the importance of a right diet and exercise, and change one’s lifestyle to find some results.
It is neither necessary to workout at an expensive gym, nor necessary to spend huge amounts to have a gym-like infrastructure at home. The right kind of exercises carried out under supervision or by consulting an expert, can be done at home, and can contribute towards increase in height and correction of posture. Right food combined with right exercise, followed by sufficient hours of sleep and relaxation strengthens the muscles over time and helps in increasing the height.
The food consumed has to be rich in amino acids, calcium and vitamins. Fresh fruits and vegetables, white meat and dairy products are very essential for body growth and building up of bones. Staying active is very essential, as lazy and lethargic people who never sit or walk upright are likely to keep drooping all their lives, and can never hope to become taller.
Stretching exercises strengthen the muscles and straighten the spine, thus increasing the height. Regular exercise keeps the spine stretched and makes one taller.
Both aerobic and anaerobic exercises strengthen the back and abdominal muscles, and are important in stretching the muscles in their own way. They lengthen the spinal column, thus stretching the height. Anaerobic exercises like weight lifting, release height growth hormones that help in steady and proportionate increase in the body. Strong muscles help the cartilage in the body to thicken.
Aerobic exercises like cycling, jogging, swimming and brisk walking too help in releasing height growth hormones steadily and constantly throughout life, giving a tall body and increasing longevity.
The easiest exercise to grow taller is to stretch on a high horizontal bar. One should then relax and hang on to the bar and keep the palms away from oneself while the thumbs of the feet should be touching at all times. It is very important to be relaxed in this manner and not keep one’s body stretched. Wearing weights on one’s ankles stretches the body even further.
It is good to avoid junk food, when trying to aim for increase in height, as it provides no nutrition to the body and adds to unnecessary calories as well.
