We used to be very innovative in how we utilize our free time (if any) in our insti. All of us firmly believed that these days won't be back ever.

After grueling round of placements, when all of us got placed at least somewhere or the other, some very happy and some not so happy, we decided to utilize our vellaa time hitting the Brahmaputra beach. Just to give you a brief back ground, IITG is situated almost on the banks of the river. The massive expanse of the river leads to the fact that it is the only male river in India. And when I say massive, I actually define the term "massive" by the span of the Brahmaputra.

During winters, being a snow fed river, Brahmaputra recedes dramatically creating a wide beach, almost like those of the seas with waves.

We picked our bicycles and cameras (Mandi, Kataria, Me and Deep Singh) and zip zap zoom! Traversing along the river finding the best location for our so called "time pass" we managed a place where the expanse of the white sand was the most beautiful and the water too was very clear.

Got down there, parked our cycles. Yeah cycles heheheh these are the long forgotten creatures. We used cycles in our first year only. The day we became seniors, cycles were left and forgotten in the stores as lift from a junior was the most practiced habit to go to the academic complex. And all of us used to sit on the carrier rather than the front rod. It was considered as cool! Anyways..lemme come to the story .

Yeah, so finally we settled down with the packets of wafers and drinks we had yeah Coke ON THE ROCKS!!!

Suddenly, it struck to me ki yaar, we won't get this moment back ever, just few months and it will be all over. Mandi and me used to ponder a lot on this, however, kataria used to run, saying ki jo kal hona hai use aaj kyun soche khush raho na. He used to pretend that he is the strongest of all and it won't affect him as we will find new friends. But both me and mandi knew that he will be the one who will miss us the most! I remember we took a lift on a "topless sumo" (as defined by dear lanka) as we missed the last bus to the insti and were discussing this while the wind ruffled our hair.

It struck me that day that life gives us so many chances to behave both wisely and stupidly and we do it the opposite, behave stupidly when we have to be wise and vice-versa. However, we had our chances of being stupid and utilized it really well!! It was a day when we wanted to literally ACT stupid! And we did what our heart said!

It immediately made me remember the Dil Chahata Hai scene of the three frends. I told mandi and kataria lets make a spoof and imitate that scene. They were game for it! I was the director of the spoof and an actor as well J While all this was happening, I told deep to catch it in the camera.

I am posting one of the two videos we recorded, as the first video is censored however can be seen on youtube. Cant post it on iland ;-).

At the end of the day we were so contended with the discussion and all the stupidity we did, we knew that we will meet again and at least once, will come back to our alma mater ..
