The human mind has limitless power, provided we allow it to work unhampered. At times un-justified criticism can stop us before we get started. It is nothing but the influence of other minds ' a negative influence which often is imagined. A person who is filled with fear of criticism often will not put forth his ideas lest he be rebuffed, and so he loses his great gift of imagination and self-reliance.
This happened with me when I entered the word of blogging in May 2008. For few days I just hopped around from one blog to another. Wherein I had strong desire to put up something. At last when I did, I forbid everybody to read my first blog and made it my personal reading.
We may examine the careers of men who achieved mighty breakthroughs in their fields and we may marvel at the way in which they found their abilities and put them to effective use. At the same time we may see many of the obstacles they had to overcome. Rarely, however, do we know of the adverse criticism many such men faced. Had they feared this criticism and let it take root in their minds, all their ability to conceive and achieve might have been crippled.
It is one thing to listen to advise from a person qualified to give advise. It is quite another to allow adverse criticism to hamper our thinking. Let's set aside fear of criticism and blog away .
well said…lets do that
yes…………nice post,thanks!
very good piece bash… yes we need to realise that just like hills enhance the beauty of the scenery, similarly criticism also makes us realise the true worth of our efforts… without it we will all slip into mediocrity.
(donno why i never got the mail alert for this post ! just happened to drop by & saw this)
cirticism is like stones…its upto us what to make out of it.. a wall or a bridge!!!
Yeah true… but in my case its different… i started good writing… after got criticised by a person, now a best friend of mine…. but also he has not criticised to harm me… and i also took it positively… i think its also different isnt it…??
But Bash what you”ve said is also true… criticism can kill creativity…of a feared person…. Thanks for this superb posting….
Criticisms are part and parcel of any work be it books, movies, sports……….it is how the affected individual takes it and responds is what matters most…..so as think tank says “one should not ignore good suggestions which come in the guise of criticism”
I think criticism does it both ways …. i mean RETARD n FUEL ..its kind of necessary evil ……so keep blogging …n with each remark ….displace on brighter n upgraded positions
, CHEERS !
Of course you are right: if we strongly believe in soemthing then others” criticisms don”t matter. But we would be fools if we make that an ego issue and go on ignoring honest and good suggestions which come in the guise of criticism. I don”t know about your controversial post
Will check. (Rahul)
