  • Earn Money With Adsense!!

    What Is Adsense

    Adsense is a contextual advertising program by Google which allows website publishers to generate revenue from their sites by placing ads from the Google Adwords network on them. Each time these ads are clicked on by one of your visitors you earn a share of the revenue that Google makes from charging that particular advertiser.

    Below is a summary of how the program works and the steps you will need to take to implement it.

    1. You join Adsense and on acceptance into the program become an Adsense Publisher.

    You will now have your own Adsense account in which you will be able to create the ad code to place on your website and monitor the results of your campaigns.

    2. Create your custom Adsense javascript code:

    You can do this by logging into your account inside which you will be able to choose the particular ad format and ad color that you want to place on your website. The code your selections will generate will appear like this:
    <script type=”text/javascript”><!–
    google_ad_client = “your publisher id will be here”;
    google_ad_width = width of chosen ad format;
    google_ad_height = height of chosen ad format;
    google_ad_format = “chosen ad format”;
    google_ad_type = “whether text only or text and image ad”;
    google_ad_channel =”the channel you have placed this ad in”;
    google_color_border = “chosen border color”;
    google_color_bg = “chosen background color”;
    google_color_link = “chosen link color”;
    google_color_url = “chosen url color”;
    google_color_text = “chosen text color”;
    //–></script>
    <script type=”text/javascript”
    src=”http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/show_ads.js”>
    </script>

    3. You can then place this code inside your website template:

    Make sure you’ve chosen an ad format which will fit into the space available in your template. Once you have uploaded your page to your server the Adsense ads will automatically be generated.

    4. Google’s content matching technology will deliver ads that are relevant to the page content you have placed the code on:

    It may take anywhere from a few minutes to an hour but Google will start delivering ads that match your content. This is the real perk of Adsense - ads that match the content of your page so that they are relevant to what your visitors are reading and thinking about at the time and so more likely to be clicked on.

    In Google’s own words:

    “Google AdSense™ automatically delivers text and image ads that are precisely targeted to your site and your site content—ads so well-matched, in fact, that your readers will actually find them useful”

  • Hacking-Simplified

    Aurelius Mendes 11:07 pm on August 22, 2010 | 0 Permalink | Reply

    On Wikipedia, a hacker is defined as such:
    “Hacker, as it relates to computers, has several common meanings. Hacker is often used by the mass media to refer to a person who engages in computer cracking and is also often by those in computing fields to refer to a person who is a computer enthusiast. At least three major hacker subcultures, characterized by their largely distinct historical development, use the term in their jargon for self-identification. They are centered around different, but partially overlapping aspects of computers and have conflicting ideas about who may legitimately be called a hacker (see hacker definition controversy). In computer security, a hacker is someone who focuses on security mechanisms. In common use, which was popularized by the mass media, that refers to someone who illegally breaks into computer and network systems. That is, the media portrays the ‘hacker’ as a villain. Nevertheless, parts of the subculture see their aim in correcting security problems and use the word in a positive sense. They operate under a code of the Hacker Ethic, in which it’s acknowledged that breaking into other people’s computers is bad, but that discovering and exploiting security mechanisms and breaking into computers is nevertheless an interesting aspect that can be done in an ethical and legal way. This use is contrasted by the different understanding of the word as a person who follows a spirit of playful cleverness and loves programming. It is found in an originally academic movement unrelated to computer security and most visibly associated with free software and open source. It also has a hacker ethic, based on the idea that writing software and sharing the result is a good idea, but only on a voluntary basis, and that information should be free, but that it’s not up to the hacker to make it free by breaking into private computer systems. Academic hackers disassociate from the mass media’s pejorative use of the word ‘hacker’ referring to computer security, and usually prefer the term ‘cracker’ for that meaning. In a third meaning, the term refers to computer hobbyists who push the limits of their software or hardware.”

    So by this definition the bad side is essentially fear mongering and a few individuals giving the whole group a bad name. According to the various legitimate definitions, there is plenty of good that can and has come from hacking. Most of the wondrous technical achievements of the past fifty years can be attributed to hackers at play, from the advent of video games with Spacewar! on the PDP-1 to the Mars rovers, and SpaceShipOne.

    Every community will have its bad eggs, but if one only focuses on the few, they miss the benefit of the many.

  • Why Paypal is not the Best

    Aurelius Mendes 10:56 pm on August 22, 2010 | 0 Permalink | Reply

    A true story of a person cheated by Paypal

    Random Credit Check = $5000 Frozen

    Today without warning Paypal “closed” my account with $5,772.91 dollars in it. They say on the website and in several calls I made to them that they will not release the money due to a routine credit scan they made and didn’t like what they read in my equifax credit report.

    What closed means by their definition is I can’t take the money out and I earn no interest on the money for 6 months. Almost 2 months have gone by since this happened and this is still the situation. They say when I signed up for Paypal I signed a standard agreement that says they can freeze the money in my account any time they want to. I strongly suspect they are earning interest on the money and, in effect, this is a scam on their part to make millions of dollars. I have 100% positive feedback as a seller on eBay (which owns paypal) and I’ve sold over 100 items. I have a feedback score of 86 with many of these being repeat business that doesn’t cause the feedback number to increase. The money was frozen from an auction in which all the winning bidders gave me positive feedback except for one non-paying bidder in Italy who never sent the money despite repeated emails so, of course, I never sent him the item. (The amount of the non-paying bidder is $500.00 — but since he never sent any money by Paypal or any other means I fail to see how this could play a roll in the “closed” account).

    Periodic non-paying bidders are, unfortunately, a fact of life on eBay — fortunately a rare one in my experience. The other eight winning auctions of the “freeze” auction all gave me not just positive but glowing feedbacks saying they both received the items I sent them and were extremely happy with them. Without the money from PayPal there is a very good chance I will lose my family home as well as my mother’s home we are attempting to bring up to code. I, my wife, and two sons have lived in our family home for around 18 years. My mother, before she was institutionalized lived in her house (with my father, me and my sister in the earlier days) for around 50 years. We were planning on renting out my mother’s house to help pay for the expenses of her staying at Alzheimer Gated communities which charge $3,500.00 a month and more.

    Ironically, before this happened, I was a big fan of Paypal.

  • How to be very Optimistic!!!

    Aurelius Mendes 10:38 am on December 21, 2009 | 0 Permalink | Reply

    While being skeptical can be a healthy way to avoid getting taken advantage of, being pessimistic - that is, always assuming the worst - can have major negative consequences on your life. Seeing only the negative aspects of any situation can cause you to miss opportunities, neglect problems that need to be solved, and fail to take action that would otherwise improve your relationships and quality of life. Optimists look for the light at the end the tunnel. If you’ve always had a pessimistic worldview, it can be difficult to shift your focus, but it is possible to start seeing the glass as half full, not half empty.

    Steps
    1
    Let go of the assumption that the world is against you, or that you were born with a gray cloud over your head. It is an assumption that has no basis in reason or science. To believe that the universe or a spiritual entity has singled you out and shifted the world order just to make your life miserable is both self-centered and illogical. Be humble and stop pretending you’ve got the world all figured out. Sometimes bad experiences lead to good experiences, and you can’t predict the future, so you can’t assume it’ll always be bad.
    2
    Look for the source of your pessimism. Deep-rooted negativity can often be traced to childhood experiences, when growing minds observe their circumstances and make presumptions about how the world functions. If all you saw growing up were disappointments, betrayals and failure, it’s no surprise that now it’s what you expect from the world as an adult. Sometimes we pick up a flair for pessimism from a parent who made negative assumptions about the world somewhere along the line. Either way, the sooner you can attribute your pessimism to a unique set of circumstances rather than the state of the world itself, the easier it’ll be to change your perspective.
    3
    Understand that the past does not equal the future. Just because you’ve experienced pain or disappointment in the past does not guarantee that it’s all you’ll experience in the future. There were many things in your past that you couldn’t control, and everybody comes across unfortunate circumstances at some point in their lives - you’re no exception. But there are also many things in life we can control to one degree or another, and therein lies the possibility of change. A day or week that starts badly will not necessarily end badly. Do not make a bad start turn into a self fulfilling prophecy for a bad ending.
    4
    See yourself as a cause, not an effect. You don’t have to be a product or a victim of your circumstances. Stop thinking about what is happening to you and start thinking about what you can make happen. If you’re not happy with the way your life is now, set goals and move on. Use your past negative experiences to build character and make better decisions, instead of letting pessimism turn you into someone who avoids risk at all costs. Sometimes it is necessary to take risks to receive rewards. Moreover, taking no action is taking an action. It is better to play to win rather than merely to avoid losing.
    5
    Accept pain, failure and disappointment as a part of life, not the entirety of it. Life involves taking many risks every day, and not all of them will end positively. That’s what defines risk. But the flip side is that some actions will lead to good results, and it’s generally better to have a mixed bag than to have nothing at all. Ideally, the good stuff will outweigh the bad, but you’ll never reach that point unless you put yourself out there and hope for the best. When in doubt, remember Lord Alfred Tennyson’s words of wisdom:

    I hold it true, whate’er befall;
    I feel it, when I sorrow most;
    ‘Tis better to have loved and lost
    Than never to have loved at all.
    6

    Be thankful. Everyone has something to be grateful for. Make a list of the good things that have happened to you. If nothing instantly springs to mind, you aren’t trying hard enough. The key to being an optimist is recognizing the benefits and possibilities of any situation, and understanding that it could always be worse. If all else fails, think of how life could be worse, and flip the thought process to recognize what you do have. For example: “I’m flunking out of school” can turn into “Well, at least I have a chance to go to school, and I still have time to turn my grades around.” Get a notebook and a pen, and write down all the good things that you have. Every time you are feeling negative, read through them and remind yourself that it’s not all bad.
    7
    Use positive affirmations. Write down short statements that remind you of what you’re trying to change about the way you see the world. Put them in places where you’ll see them every day, such as on your bathroom mirror, the inside of your locker, on your computer monitor, and even taped to your shower wall. Some affirmations to start with are:

    “Anything is possible.”
    “I create my circumstances, my circumstances don’t create me.”
    “The only thing I can control is attitude towards life.”
    “I always have a choice.”
    “I choose to live my positive side of life.”
    8
    Remember that life is short. When you feel pessimism clouding your judgment or you start to feel down about the future, remind yourself that every minute counts, and any time spent brooding guarantees nothing but less time to enjoy whatever life might have to offer. At its core, pessimism is impractical because it causes you to spend time dwelling on things that haven’t happened yet and aren’t guaranteed to happen, and it prevents you from getting things done. Pessimism breeds indecision. It’s a waste of time, and time is a limited resource that you can’t afford to take for granted.
    9
    Be a balanced optimist. Nobody’s suggesting that you become an oblivious Pollyanna, pretending that nothing bad can or ever will happen. Doing so can lead to poor decisions and invites people to take advantage of you. Instead, be a rational optimist who takes the good with the bad, in hopes of the good ultimately outweighing the bad, and with the understanding that being pessimistic about everything accomplishes nothing. Prepare for the worst but hope for the best - the former makes you sensible, and the latter makes you an optimist.
    10
    Ignore the unkind things that others do unto you, and love your surroundings by just focusing at the positive. For example, if your friend and another friend are just talking to each other and leaving you out, try to join in. If this doesn’t work, enjoy your surroundings, find someone else you know and like, and go talk to them! Show no sadness for misfortunes. Focusing on the negative will make your situation worse and will end up spoiling your day! Instead, be bubbly and cheerful. Join in others’ conversations and laugh with them. Soon everyone will start being friends with you and you’ll realise that those two people who left you out are not really very good friends! Always stay cheerful!

    Tips
    Use quotes to remind yourself how to be optimistic. Maybe if during a particularly tough day someone mentions some saying that gives you a rare boost of motivation, write it down. Here are a few inspirational sayings:

    Even the longest journey begins with a single step.
    Life has a way of reminding one that it can be worse.
    Until one understands the low and darker side of life, the appreciation of the awe-inspiring highs will remain stagnant.
    Every cloud has a silver lining.
    Look happy. Studies have shown that putting a positive expression on your face can actually make you feel happier and more optimistic about the future.[1]
    Practice by conveying these ideas to others. If you hear someone being pessimistic, counsel them based on these steps. Sometimes it’s easier to understand a perspective if you explain it to someone else first.
    No matter how odd this may sound, listen to optimistic music (that you like) and read books that have a least a little optimism in them.
    Pass a blessing on to a friend or stranger, let somebody have that parking space, let somebody in front of you in line at the market. Doing nice things for others is an instant pick me up.
    Only you can make the situation better, so smile and make the situation better!

    edit

    Avoid negative people. If you can’t avoid them, learn how to not let them get you down.
    Don’t confuse pessimism with depression. Depression can make everything look worse than it is.
    While it is true that you create your own circumstances, accept that the past is the past. Don’t let negative circumstances trigger irrational guilt or pessimism.
    Realize that it’s not about what happens to you, it’s about how you react to what happens.
    Get rid of all one-sided relationships in your life. A one-sided relationship can be defined as someone who is always “taking” from you and never giving anything (except grief or stress) in return.
    Avoid cynical/pessimistic entertainment. You are what you watch

  • How to realize your dreams!!!

    Aurelius Mendes 10:34 am on December 21, 2009 | 0 Permalink | Reply

    You can be successful and have your dreams come true. This is just a start.

    Steps
    1
    Figure out what you want to do. If you REALLY want to do it. Then, the questioning part begins: Am I really talented? This question is really important because you don’t want to waste your energy on something where you’re just not talented. Then ask the others about their opinion. However, you’ve got to be careful about this one, because there are many people who are just envious and won’t tell you if you are good or not.
    2
    Now think about HOW you are going to achieve this. Do you have to study? Which university is best for it? For you? Which key qualifications do you need? Gather all the information you can.
    3
    Know what makes successful people successful? Their willpower, their confidence and their optimism. If someone tells you differently, he or she lies. A successful person will never give up as easily. An example needed? Walt Disney! At first, nobody liked his idea, but he did believe in himself and went to Hollywood. He continued improving and working on his idea. And it worked! There’s also the boss of Red Bull who wasn’t successful at first. But with his ambition and his willpower, he got everything he wanted. What you can learn from this? If you know-deep down there-that you WANT to do this and that you are talented, it doesn’t matter what the others say. Keep on working, which brings me to the next point:
    4
    Work hard! Even if you have to work ten hours a day, do not get lazy. Everything in life has its prize. You have to be willing to pay it. The work really does pay off. Later, it makes you even prouder because you can say:”It didn’t just come to me. I actually worked hard and see where it got me!”
    5
    Fight for your goals. Lack of money? Then DO something! There’s always a solution, as long as you keep looking for it…There are many celebrities, writers, singers and actors who were poor at first. But they worked their way up. They didn’t just isolate themselves from the others and be like:” If I should become an actor one day, it will come!” Yeah, it’s true that sometimes destiny IS generous, but do not rely on that…If you have the problem that your parents say “no” to your dream, don’t be mad at them. Try to talk with them sensibly. Mostly, parents just want the best for you, and if you say:”Mom, Dad, I want to be a musician!” it’s logical that they’re concerned. They fear that you will have a bad life, not enough money and stuff. But if you are well-informed and show them your plans, they’ll see that you actually MEAN it and that you are willing to take responsibility for your actions. If they still say no, just do it. After all, you live just once. And you are not, I repeat, not, their painting book which they can fill in with their favourite colors!
    If you did all this, it’s a great way to move forwards towards your goals. However, a good education and some certificates won’t hurt. For example, if you want to be a dancer and you break your leg and the doctor tells you: “Sorry, but you’ll never be able to dance again!”…It’s always good to have a back-up
    6
    Now go your way, be confident, ambitious hard-working, optimistic and you’ll get everything you want. You want to grab the stars? Before you know it, you’ll be one yourself if you are willing to give things up for your goals

  • How to Enjoy every bit of life!!!

    Aurelius Mendes 10:31 am on December 21, 2009 | 0 Permalink | Reply

    Every human being can name at least one person who has stood out to them as utterly, amazingly, wonderfully, almost inhumanly, calm at all times. It is the person who is never fazed by life’s petty ordeals- the person who is able to deal with larger problems with maturity, grace, and venerable wisdom. What is it they know that everyone else seems to be missing?

    1
    Find a peaceful zone. To gain this level of calmness and serenity, you must first be free of any distraction. This moment in time is set aside for deep inner reflection. Find somewhere quiet, preferably somewhere natural (e.g. Sit in the grass in a park on a nice day, take a slow walk in the forest in late fall, sit on the edge of a mountain after a hike and gaze over the scenery) If you have no time to travel, simply sit on a couch or on your bed, anywhere will do.
    2
    Reflect on the fact that as a human being you are immersed in billions upon billions of chemical reactions at every second of your life. (e.g. the exchange of carbon and oxygen in your breathing, the unfelt rotation/revolution of the earth, the dying and renewing of cells in your skin, etc.)
    3
    Reflect on the uncanny scale of the universe, and your size within it. (e.g. you are a towering monster to an ant, and a universe to a cell, yet you’re but a spec to the earth, and the earth but one millionth of our sun, which is but a cell to the galaxy which is but a stain in the universe…)
    4
    Take time to respect and appreciate the mystery of living and all that comes with it. (Why is it that you are here now in this moment in time? Why are you human and not a rock or a bird or a waterfall? Could you have even been anything else? Do things happen for a reason? What is time? Does it exist? Do mathematical equations build the universe? What is thought? Why are humans the only creatures with such advanced civilization? Will the universe ever end? Is infinity real? Is anything I believe real? What is reality?…) Ask yourself all the questions you have ever wondered but have never asked. Consider answers and debate yourself, chances are you will come up with theories no one has ever conceived before. Even if they are ludicrous, you have expanded your mind to possibility. Remember that other people in the world might feel just like you do now!
    5
    Just be. After such explosion of thought, your mind will be restless but somewhat tired. Take a moment just to breathe and exist, feel yourself taking up space in the enormousness of the universe and consider the importance you have as a being. You are here, a human, a mind, with all the possibility in the world. Feel the amazing power of opportunity fill you. You can do anything. You can change the world. You can help those in need.
    6
    Seize the moment. If you have felt this sensation captivate you, indeed you have achieved a revelation, for this moment in time you have been enlightened. Whenever petty problems seem to storm you, recall these amazing feelings and ideas and all insignificant ordeals will melt in such obscurity you may laugh at them with a sincere humor that others puzzle over and long to obtain. Most will change forever, always in state of wonder and respect for life and the world. This is the state of mind of the calm, the caring, the wise, and the respect!!

    Keep an open mind. Closed, calculating minds are the root of ignorance and static. Nothing changes if all minds are certain.
    Pertaining to religion: Do not dismiss your beliefs, but always consider you are not correct. With thousands of religions in the world, at least a few are guaranteed to be untrue. Sometimes letting go welcomes a spectrum of new and exciting ideas.
    Never impose on other people. Though you may feel uplifted and enlightened by your new realizations, most others are stuck in the cycle of the mainstream working/family/business life and have not yet or will never have the chance to see above it.
    Leaving the mind to settle on its own is the best way…effortless effort
    If you are feeling angry or upset just count to ten and take deep breaths. Then make yourself some cooling camamile tea or chilled water and take yourself to another place by letting your imagination take over.

    Warnings
    As ignorance is bliss, enlightenment is sometimes a burden.
    Remember to keep a balance. Just as it is poisonous to become a slave to material life you can lose grounding in the realities of survival in modern times (Rent isn’t the philosophy of sages but it provides your shelter). Do not become lost in fantasy.

    Things You’ll Need
    Open mind
    Maturity
    Intelligence
    Patience
    Perseverance
