Bar Soap is widely used by people all over the world in bathtubs, baths and showers.
These are used to wash away the buildup of body sweat, excess body oil,
sticky sebum, dirt and grime from one’s surroundings and to get rid of
microbes which are a threat to health and causative agents of body
odour. Soaps are made of fatty oils treated with alkaline substances.
This imparts the property of being able to remove dirt and oils from
body surface.
An effective soap should work properly in both hard as well as soft
water. It should not have any bad effect on skin- no allergies, dryness,
itching etc. Most people bathe more than once a day. Thus, they need a
soap which they can use frequently without having fear of any adverse
reactions.
People prefer soaps with pleasing, long lasting fragrance. However,
chemical components of perfumes can damage the skin. Thus, one must be
careful in choosing a soap which does not have a very strong and harsh
perfume component. Soaps with mild or even no fragrance are becoming
increasing popular these days.
Bar soaps are easy to use, effective at performing thorough cleaning,
easy to carry around and take up very little space. However, soaps that
are of an inferior quality do not last a long time and dissolve quickly
in water. Thus, it is important to invest in a soap which retains its
compactness and does not disintegrate rapidly.
A good quality soap has an invigorating effect, it moisturizes rather
than dries the skin. It does not melt away into wasted studs upon coming
in contact with water. It should be completely devoid of or having
limited amount of harsh chemicals. Certain soaps even have components
which are non-biodegradable and end up polluting the environment upon
regular use. Thus, many people are opting for natural soaps.
Natural soaps are made of plant oils and natural herbal components. They
are gentle on the skin, possess moisturizing properties and nourish the
skin. They are devoid of harsh chemicals which can damage the skin and
pollute the environment. Natural components also have potent
antibacterial properties and pleasant light fragrances. Thus, natural
soaps are gaining in popularity.
