Body Reactions to Stress

February 23rd, 2010

We all complain from time to time we feel stressed. We feel tense
shoulders, headaches and pain we have a pronounced fatigue, which are
the most common symptoms after one day’s stressful home or office. Few
of us but I thought about what really happens in our bodies when we
suffer from stress.

The resulting stress:
Experts believe that stresses today are that lasts longer triggers
might be cancer or Alzheimer’s disease. Also, infertility, hair loss
and skin blemishes are caused by stress, so that we can not wonder what
other health problems can be caused by stress.

Stress can be described as a normal response to an abnormal situation.
When we are in a stressful situation - such as escape from a car
accident or a fight with your partner -, our brain releases certain
chemicals or send signals to glands to secrete hormones that prepare
the body to make face situations that data.

Another chemical is released or hormone cortisone. It is a form of
blood glucose and gives us extra fuel that is needed to overcome what
affects our normal life.

What is the first reaction to stress:
Also, and digestive system reacts to stress. The stomach produces
excess acid - presumably to eat any food available to give the body
extra energy - and the digestion process are slow.

And heart rate is accelerating to manage chemicals quickly through the
bloodstream, such that each body part to be prepared to give the
response needed. Amazing is that this happens almost instantaneously
and that the person is not even aware of the feedback that is. Body
response to stress is as unconscious as breathing and heartbeat, to
spend without control.

Although stress can be useful up to a certain point - help us to face
some dangerous situations and difficult - issues began to emerge in the
moment we are continuously in this state or travelers ourselves in
stressful situations.

Stress may trigger Alzheimer’s, heart disease and infertility

It is well known for a long time and that stress makes us to have more
sleepless nights in a row. But experts are of opinion that stress can
also cause several health problems.

High blood pressure and heart disease:
Already known that exposure to stress can do to increase blood
pressure, and this leads to increase risk of heart attack because heart
more effort to pump blood to be to get into the whole body.

Besides high blood pressure, stress can also lead to increase risk of
heart disease occurs - the blocking of arteries and other problems that
may give rise to heart attack.

A less known fact is that 75 percent of bad cholesterol in the blood
does not come from foods full of fat or more calories, but the
cortisone. Cholesterol is actually a product of cortical, which
represents the extra amount of glucose in our body produces during
periods of stress. Cholesterol in the blood also means that an artery
presents a much greater risk of being obstructed, and thus increasing
the danger of developing a heart disease and thus heart attack.

Stress leads to women infertility:
A recent study showed that women’s body is different from the reactions
of men when suffering from stress. Reaction to stress is a man to fight
to keep up. This means that, typically, women under stress rather are
with friends and family asking for help than to face one of the
problems they have.

Scientists also found that a woman’s body, when going through a period
of stress, releases more oxytocin in the blood. Oxytocin is a chemical
secreted by a woman’s body during orgasm and when born, but who can
block and fertility. It is believed that if there is too much oxytocin
in the blood, this can disrupt the menstrual cycle,
reduce the chances of conceiving naturally, and can even be linked with
cases of miscarriage. Thus, even if women can handle stress better than
men, they will develop health problems serious enough in the future.
The best advice is for pregnant women to give up activities that made
at least three months before the projected date to give birth, to
reduce levels of this hormone in the blood and thus avoid problems that
may arise so the mother, as well as for children.
