You may have read in the dailies that activist B G Kolse Patil (former HC judge) was arrested along with 800 others for protesting in Ratnagiri against the Jaitapur nuclear power plant. [ Detailed news item: http://tinyurl.com/hindunews1 ] Earlier, FIR was registered against activist Arundhati Roy and others. Her grave crime was that she said in a speech that Kashmir was “not an integral part of India”. Meanwhile, half a dozen leading politicians – against whom there is ample documentary evidence of corruption – are enjoying life without even an FIR against them.
