The cow

This was recieved through “forward” channel, asking me to relax and forget my stress and to help myself lift my spirits after reading this. While I acknowledge the author’s good intention of sharing humor, It has also made me sad that the educational standards is still in disarray, and that no thought is being given by the authorities concerned to lift the standards and bring it to a uniform level all over the country. I do not know why this Bihari gentleman chose to write in english in which he, obviously is handicapped. The other reason,is it essential that all of us should master the language (English, I mean), in order not to make ourselves laughing stocks? I do concede that for effective communication in other languages apart from hindi / local language, English is a must, and for those who do not nurse any ambition to reach the zenith career wise, well, they need not bother. But for those who aspire to be IAS, well, one needs a minimum level of communication in English too to keep up with the trends of the world. In short, What is the need of the hour is raise the standard of teaching languages than permitting the mushroom to spread itself on one hand, while strengthening the existing levels in a holistic approach. The Govt of Andhra pradesh has introduced English from 5th standard onwards in all goverment schools, without even studying the availability of qualified english teachers and their standards and obviously the type of essays that we can see from IAS aspirants won’t be any better. What do you say? Well, I am sharing the essay that I had recieved, not only to see the lighter side of it, but also to give a thought over about the isssue.

You’ll forget your Englishby the time you finish reading this. This is a true essay written by aBihari candidate at UPSC (IAS) Examinations. The candidate has written anessay on the Indian Cow.

INDIANCOW

He is the cow.The cow is a successful animal. Also he is 4 footed, andbecause he is female, he gives milks. He is same like God , sacred toHindus and useful to man. But he has got four legs together. Two areforward and two are afterwards. His whole body can be utilised for use.More so the milk. Milk comes from 4 taps attached to hisbasement.

What can it do? Various ghee, butter, cream, curd, why and thecondensed milk and so forth. And he is also useful to cobbler, watermansand mankind generally. His motion is slow only because he is of lazyspecies, and also his gober is much useful to farmers, plants and treesand is used to make flat cakes, in hand and drying sun.

Cow is the only animal that extricates after eating. Then afterwardsshe chew with his teeth whom are situated in the inside of the mouth. Heis incessantly in hte meadows in the grass. His only attacking anddefending organ is the horns, specially so when he is got child. This isdone by knowing his head whereby he causes the weapond to be parralleledto the ground of the earth and instantly proceed with great velocityforewards. He has got tails also, situated in the backyard, but not likesimilar animals. It has hairs on the other end of the other side. This isdone to frighten away the flies which alight on his cohesive bodyhereupon he gives hit with it.

The palms of his feet are soft onto the touch. So the grasses head isnot crushed. At night time have poses by looking down on the ground and heshouts. His eyes and nose are like his other relatives. This is thecow………..
