BLOOD ON MY HANDS …
My arsenal for creating mayhem!
The pipes, the wires, the nails
The money to buy that tell-tale powder
The black bags, the remote control devices
The DIY manual telling me how to put it together
The fanatically committed foot soldiers,
Such glee - see I’m about to create history!
I’m watching the telly now!
The ripped open steel bogies
The blood splattered railway tracks
The bodies carried in make-shift sheet stretchers
The limbs - the body parts - the blood - the gore
The faceless bodies, the torsoless heads
Such glee - see what all I’ve achieved!
I’m reading the newspapers now!
The lists of injured, the body counts
The personal accounts of each individual tragedy
The desperate searches in hospitals and morgues
The ecstacy at finding a leg-less husband
The agony at identifying a son’s body
Such glee - see how I’m playing at being GOD now!
I’m answering the telephone now!
The neighbour tells me I must rush home
My son, daughter-in-law and grandson
Who had left for home by train yesterday
And failed to reach home till late last night
Their corpses have been found in the morgue
Such glee - I’ve blood of my kin on my hands now!

a truth of our lives…
hmmmmmmm GREAT POST !!
dark, compelling………
We are habituated to take tragedy, a man made tragedy as a common place thing unless it concerns somebody belonging to us. Pieces like this help us to look repoted tragedies in a different perspective. Well done.
So well written. It gave me shivers.

Brr… bloody chilling irony! I wish you had posted it back then, when the blasts were fresh in our minds. But on second thought, I”m glad you didn”t. We might not have been able to digest it. Warm Regards, Ghost
