Dear Jim,
Thank you for your comment.
You say, “We are seeing today’’s situation because we made Money the fuel that our society ran on. Perhaps it is time to look for better reasons for which our species live.”
I agree. Our civilization is built on several false premises; one of them is that we can build a self-perpetuating money-making machine that will grow eternally, riding roughshod over the lives and environments of billions of species who share this planet with us. We have increasingly assumed that if we can keep our eyes on the money, everything else will be taken care of.
Some of these assumptions are coming unravelled. Rightly so.
Let Nature bless this planet and its countless species. As for the bloated populace of 6.5 billion humans… well, we must learn to survive whatever natural phenomena (including global economic phenomena) is dished out to us.
A small fraction of our populace will hopefully survive to create the next civilization.
Warmly,
Krish

I understand the agony. Look at who is the head of the mafia- the argument is get them at any cost. We have no enforceable law f libel and penalties for wromg prosecution, confinement or delayed justice. The legal process encourages delays to feed the lawyers, and judges come from that breed. The police are incompetent, and look for scapegoats. The classic examples- Vikas Yadav shall not hang, Afzal Guru shall not hang, slander Arushi’s parents merrily until the court bails them out, a hounding press that creates news, carries out trials and bends opininion polls for “guilty” surveys, and gloats all over when someone new is roped in, again the Arushi case. The trouble is Indian Independence came too cheap, the British were sick of India, having no more to steal, other than the dhoti’s from the politicians. With a political system run by the business class in proxy, with blind politician yelling and making “laws”than are never enforced, what hope do we have. My poem questions all that!

Anyways, the point I was making there is..the kind of religious profiling I have seen in delhi was a total shocker..educated youth from IITs and IIMs are not let out houses..I myself hunted for a friend and was turned down by at least 25 of them ONLY bcoz of this reason. First they are forced to live in ghettos (not everyone wants to live in those congested localities) and then they have sudden and frequent police raids in the middle of the night, the poorer among them are frequently lifted up by the police truck and are reqd to pay a bribe to prove they are not bangladeshi immigrants despite displaying their voters id..all this is a first hand account Jim..there were times when I felt we are lucky civil violence hasn’t erupted yet..I guess it hasn’t bcoz some ppl still think rationally

No. I don’t think any of those in question are worthy of me taking their sides..if driving away an entire community from your country (it is as much theirs mind you) is what seems like a good solution to you then go ahead and try it..but don’t complain when shiv sena does the bihari bhagao campaign in maharashtra. If you’ve read prabod’s blog and my comments, you’d notice that the solution lies within ourselves, its not whole india vs religion A, it is civilians vs extremists, we need to strengthen our own security system..mumbaikars were on a 24/7 vigil during the riots, your own city blore has a citizen’s report card system, how many elections do each of us skip, how many of us ever raise a voice against smaller crimes around us? of course we should raise a voice, but not like naive ppl making sweeping statements..fanaticism one way or the other is unacceptable..i guess its difficult to understand unless you have family on both sides of the glass wall..
