POST MORTEM OF A

HITCH- HIKING

DALMATIAN-DINGO

CROSSBREED

-There are NO Easy Solutions to Problems; in Life…there are No Fevi-kwik, superglue or quick fix solutions

-Problems can arise in relationships, at work, in the family, etc…

-Learn to always tackle problems head-on, bravely… Face to face

-Don’t ever shirk away from your fears… face them…But, Be WISE and be prepared to anticipate and tackle the complexities of the strong currents and twists that each problem Will challenge you to solve.

-We REASON in our mind and make CHOICES, thus we are human.

-Problems are the Portals of opportunities. Opportunities are the Gateways of Success.

-Opportunities thrive on solutions…So; we have to solve our problems…to be successful. Think of problems as food you hate presented on a golden platter…If You eat the food, you get the golden platter… This is a bonus that comes along… this golden platter is the confidence and self belief that you have gained in this one experience which empowers you to face and solve larger problems in the future…the KEY to your life is HOW you Face-up to all the problems and SOLVE them.

-Many problems can be avoided by Preplanning, by anticipation and by preparedness.

-To err is human… So, problems Do occur, every step of the way…

-Most problems can be solved by judicious use of TIME, Proper channeling of the mind and motivated Focus on desired interests.

-There are a few problems which are difficult to solve, But, even these can be resolved if we could  put our earnest effort along with committed determination to achieve the desired goals and sincerely create portals and possibilities of thought which focus on accomplishing  the attainment of desired levels of success…

-But, first we have to shake up the skeletons in our closets and cupboards of our hearts and get rid of all the residual dust and we have to believe firmly from the nerve centers of our mind and from the epicenters of our soul that “OVERCOMING OUR FEARS” is NOT just another expression of the English language, but, Which exists because of our defiant approach and our never-say-die attitude and our great fighting spirit at centripetally FACING UP bravely, boldly and confidently … against  ALL the difficulties and hardships and turmoil that life has to offer… like mighty warriors in a combat field…AND …Because We FIND solutions to those “fears”…

-There are some problems which NEVER SEEM to get solved

-Our hearts shrink and droop in despair when we see ourselves helplessly seeking in vain for solutions which we know we HAVE, but it just doesn’t seem to surface…Due to WANT of time, interest, luck, help, opportunity, guidance, encouragement and direction….

-Let us call these little problems “ticklers” (as in tickle)…99% of the problems which we face in our everyday life are “ticklers”…. they are so little yet SEEM so large… they play on the mind…and reflect on our personality.

-“Ticklers” cause “stress

-Most ticklers are a LITTLE stressful…………………………

Some ticklers are a Little MORE-than-a-Little Stressful

 Few ticklers are VERY stressful……………………………..

-The STRESS created MUST be channeled PROPERLY…

-Stress must be dissipated centrifugally and should NOT be allowed to ACCUMULATE.

NEGATIVE approach to stress busting

This is a complete NO NO

-Alcohol

-Smoking

-Sedatives

-Stimulants

-Drugs

-Sex

-Uncalled for and excessive indulgences

-These kinds of negative steps taken to counter stress are NOT long term SOLUTIONS.

-These will eventually compound and multiply in logarithm to the stress you are already undergoing.

-These will CHANGE your Lifestyle, your ethics, your values, your focus in life and will make you a slave to your appetites and your passions.

-We don’t want this to happen.

POSITIVE approach to stress busting

-When you have tried sincerely to solve a problem and NOT seemed to have found a solution…ACCEPT your LIMITATIONS.

-Confide and Share your problem with a trustworthy friend, companion, spouse, relative, parent, sibling etc…who you think can help you…

-CRY it out completely

-Confide in a HIGHER power of your belief…In God.

-Sports

-Pets

-Recreation

-Hobbies

-Refocus again after One/All of the above

A NOTE about DEPENDING ON OTHERS FOR

STRESS-BUSTING

1. Stress + Stress  à Distress

-When one stressed out person falls on the shoulder of another stressed out person, it causes DISTRESS for BOTH the people involved. It does NO one ANY good. This is like rubbing sand paper with sand paper.

-You begin to feel that you have tried honestly to channel your stress efficiently, with the limited resources at hand…But, that it seems is NOT enough to get your life back in order…neither is there free space or courteous sympathy for fine-tuning the wavelength with the other person. Such dependence needlessly ends up relations on the rocks. This does more harm than Good.

-This is usually seen at work place relations and in marriages heading for divorces.

-This is how Distress leads to DEPRESSION.

-Depression is the condition where a person is Breaking downNOT only due to his own personal failures or shortcomings…BUT, this person is falling apart mentally due to SEEMINGLY collective failures and Unexpected LETDOWNS by Family, friends, Colleagues Etc…This was Sudden OR for which he was unprepared for

-The helplessness of NOT being able to put the situation right…leads to FRUSTRATION

-Frustration Leads to WORRY

-Worry leads to Self DOUBT

-Doubt is the grandfather of depression.

-when failure is around you, personal failure gets COMPOUNDED.

-Everything, then it seems is IMPOSSIBLE.

2. Stress + DEStress à Zero Stress

-This is where the importance of family and friends comes into play.

-This is where you reap the rewards of investing in LONG TERM relationships.

-When a Stressed out person Falls on the shoulder of a NOT-SO-Stressed-OUT person, the Stress is SHARED and in time… It is LOST or becomes negligible

-This is like rubbing a sand paper against wood. The sand paper loses it grain, and the wood gets it’s polish…In time… both purposes are accomplished …as intended.

-So, Now you KNOW why you have to be nice to people around you, in GOOD times…ha ha!!!

Moral of the story

1.   Share your stress with the RIGHT people

2.   Refocus on your life’s aims

3.   Shake yourself out of depression

4.   Come out refreshed and Get you life BUBBLING back again.

P.S.

 -I have found a wonderful Stress-buster from amongst my I-land friends….

-I know that this friend is WINKING at me right now…Ha ha!!!

-So, Cheers to life…Happy Stress-Busting!!!

SATISFIED

Your adrenalin starts to pump

As you push off down the hill…

And with your hand, you adjust the stump

As you begin rolling the oily mill.

You carefully manoevere to avoid the hump

And try in vain to hold back still

In the rush of blood, you feel a lump

Down your throat, as you begin the Kill…

You raise your head to check for signals

And feel the depth for all the signs

You open your mouth to gasp for breath

And rubber yourself to grip the handle…

The sweat and the wetness invite you….,

Your nerves are alert

Your mind seems numb…But

In complete control you dare to plunge in

To cut the swollen mound….Sliceeeeee

And tearrrrr …..and riiiiiiip the tunnel of ice

Your emotions …..

In…. one fulllll circle

 Build in quantums… and explodeeee..

into one resounding heightened thrill…

Your heated blood and warm skin

Make insignificant the cold air tint…

Your pumping heart

Your pumping veins

Your throbbing muscles

And the freeze cold air…

Your whole body shivers

In spasms of ecstacy

Rippling down your spine

Your mind is in a coma…

You make your moves

You make your moves

 You make your moves

    You make your moves…

Then as you reach the bottom

You loosen out…into the valley

Twist and turn and wriggle

And… take the last curve out…

You catch your breath

And gain control

Your heart rate settles

As You steer gently… to the finish…

You wipe your goggles

Loosen your helmet

And take off your gloves

It felt soooooooooooo good !!!…

Then you break into this one big smile

Completely satisfied

Completely satisfied

It is a wholesome feeling of victory

as you slowly turn around…

With the ski poles by your side….

It never felt THIS GOOOOOOD!!!

You just conquered the swiss Alps..

MY FATHERS GARDEN

My father has the most wonderful garden in the whole wide world .Gardening is his pass-time.His garden is full of silent activity ,mischievous little creatures and  adventurous birds, animals , trees and plants and flowers. All of them LOVE my father’s garden BECOZ he takes good CARE of them and they LOVE him and ADORE him. And even I have fondly begun to believe that my father is the best Gardener in the whole world.

My dad’s garden has an amazing range of flowers. Most beautiful, amazingly attractive and greatly pleasing to the eye. You would never find these beautiful flowers in any botanical garden or in any floral collection. These are the most tiny gorgeously beautiful and strikingly colorful cute little things which probably on a normal day you would NOT even think about looking at ,BUT in those moments of SOLITUDE and quiet recollections and nostalgic idleness… these little flickers of God’s Pure creation Grasp the glorious canvas of the vast expanse of dreamy  imagination .Roses and lilies, jasmine and crotons , balsam and marigold… of various shades ,hues and colors.

The vegetables that my father grew made me feel so proud of our garden… (i didn’t like them on my plate on the dinner table though !). He planted seeds of brinjal, tomato, ladiesfinger, and corn….. And there they were …the longest brinjals I had ever seen and the red tomatoes glistening there gloriously in the sun and the most tender ladies fingers… and there were the green chilies and corn and sugarcane…when I was a kid, I used to follow them grow every day and see my dad nurturing them, watering them and manuring them and taking care of them … I started falling in love with the plants of my father’s garden.

My dad’s fruit trees were no less amazing. He had these lovely orange trees, guava trees (red pulp in the middle) and custard apple trees and lime trees and banana trees and the papaya trees and my favorite amongst all of them were these TWO Jackfruit trees which I adored… Infact I had secret names for them…and as a kid I never left the garden without kissing them…they were like my best friends!!!

There was the mango tree on which I always had a favorite branch and the tamarind tree which my mom says she had made me plant when I was like 3 years old .The black berry tree and the goose berry tree and the curry leaves shrub and the large Gulmohar trees which had those MAY flowers in the summers and the Ashoka tree in the corner and those majestic Coconut trees on which Squirrels raced up and down like it were a Expressway. And the drumstick tree which caterpillars adored as they sucked out the gum on its bark and as they swung like Spider-caterpillar-men, with their webby nylon ropes and gave me the Dreaded Itch every once in a while. There was this teak tree which had these amazing shades of its leaves in different season’s brilliant green and stark brown. I never figured out the name of one of the trees… I simply remember it as the tree which all my neighbors called the Christmas tree which they cut down and borrowed for Christmas decorations and My mom had this Soap nut tree on which we managed to get a few large Bee-hives/honey combs and the Great Neem tree from which I fell down playing hide and seek, opposite to which stood the Badam tree, the nuts were like a treasure within an oyster

I loved to study relaxing on the easy chair with blue stripes and occasionally dose off reading Julius ceaser or As you like it or Flights of fantasy or Robinson Crusoe or One of those short story books… and we had this large cotton tree on which large birds and eagles would make their nests on the top and I would love to see them in my fathers garden ….Occasionally a snake would breeze past after a green frog or a young quail singin to it’s mate….All of them Knew they were welcome here to be part of the family in my Father’s Garden

The sound of squirrel’s and chirpy birds and sparrows and lizards and chameleons streaking square.

The sound of the day… Most wonderful!!! Most pleasant! Most soothing! …like a dandelion passing by your eyelashes…. You hear the AIR speak to you in my father’s garden say’n…Dose away little kid…Exams are a few more months away ….

It is my personal opinion that the Bajrang Dal is somehow a very inflammatory organisation making unnecessary statements which instigate innocent hindus in antagonist feeling to fellow indians…

In general ,MOST Hindus in India are a Sensible lot… They mind their own business , they take good care of their families and inculcate traditional values to their children…..The majority of hindus  are honest, selfmade and homebred gems of PEACEand HARMONY

The Constant communal color that politics and politicians add to the simple sentiments of hinduism and trivial matters are flared up out of proportion ( and intrestingly  most of these things happen around the time of the elections..and most involved are either unemployed , uneducated , frustrated with the system.. and politicians wrongly instigate their pain … this is how all the bomb blasts , all the heavy drama happens….)..

This is a sad state of affairs in our SECULAR country  …, Such Organisations like the VHP  and bajrang dal , etc , needlessly stress on violence on the minorities and the helpless people .. citing very petty reasons like conversion to other religions …HOW PATHETIC !…The situation of our Muslim and christian brethern are particularly SAD when they are attacked unnecessarily without any sense of reasoning.

Take off Your Robe Of Hypocricy … O you INDIAN !!!

“HE THAT KILLETH WITH THE SWORD SHALL DIE WITH THE SWORD.”
