You are young at heart. hearty congrats for ur youthful thinking. coming to ur son''s career. Even after just degree one can go for IAS, if he is so passionate to become collector. He will not get a salary of IITian, if he opts for IAS after IIT, but it will be easy for him to come out with flying colors from IAS, if he selects optional subjects of his liking.
