Rainbow Desires - 1
"WHAT? ARE YOU CRAZY??" she screamed shrilly, completely losing control. "WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY THAT?"
He winced as her shrill voice pounded on his eardrums. He could feel the beginning of a headache..
"Reduce your volume will you? have mercy on my ears.", he said.
She shot him a nasty look.
" Listen you ., you .
"Saurabh the name is Saurabh ", he supplied automatically ..Smart, intelligent, hardworking, who believes in living life to the fullest..always on the move, a whirlwind.
" I know your name", she fumed.
"Well pardon me, but you always seem to have a problem remembering it.', he said sarcastically
She took a deep breath, trying to control her rising temper, but one look at his infuriating face, and she felt the rage build up again
"How can anybody be so dumb?", she asked.." how can you possibly lose the way? What were you doing?, dreaming of your girlfriend?..oh, well why am I questioning you, you can never do anything right you know how to mess up any situation .", she rattled off in a single breath, as he watched her, dumbfounded
" Hang on", he said, "are you done with praising me?"
She folded her hands and sat up in her seat, stiffly.
"Well to answer you. Ms. Muskaan " im never wrong", let me tell you that its close to
Muskaan and Saurabh both were working in the same organization but were poles apart .. They were going back to US after their presentation in Mumbai ..but they lost their way to airport in that heavy rainfall that day.
" I told you to take a left that time. I'm sure that was the wrong turn you took", she countered loftily, with the characteristic superior ex-pression she wore when she spoke to him.
He gave up..There was just no arguing with her..silently begging forgiveness for whatever sins he might have committed for which he was being subjected to her company, he tried to make out some signs on the road, anything familiar which would help guide him back.
He accepted defeat after driving aimlessly for another hour, if anything he had absolutely no clue of their whereabouts now.
"listen", he said, turning to his un co-operative passenger, "we're really lost, lets find some place to spend the remaining part of the night and we'll find our way back in the morning."
She turned to him, all set to argue, when she look in his haggard ex-pression and drooping eyes. He was really tired . her ex-pression softened and she nodded her consent.
Thankfully they found a decent looking place in a few minutes and they pulled into the entrance and made their way to the reception..
The reception was deserted except for a sleepy looking man sitting at the desk and another who was sitting on the couch, a few feet away..
