Salman refuses to forgive Viveik

When Salman Khan and Viveik Oberoi come face to face, things are bound to happen and that's exactly what happened at the tenth Rajiv Gandhi Awards function.

Salman was present at the event as he was being given an award in the Best Actor Category and Shilpa Shetty who was also present was being honoured with the Best actress award.

To add some spice to the event, the organizers as usual had a number of performances put up to entertain the audiences. And Viveik was also performing at the awards function.

According to sources, after Viveik wound up his act, he folded his hands and bowed before Salman as a sort of apology.

Salman and Shilpa were the guests of honour at the event as they were to receive awards at the function and hence they were seated in the front row. Viveik's performance was the last one before the awards were to be announced and hence Salman was forced to sit through it.

However this time round too Viveik took the opportunity to show Salman how apologetic he was for the past.

Vijay Kalantri, chairman of the reception committee said, "Viveik grabbed his ears and bowed and mouthed bhai, but Salman just shook his head."

Viveik also joined his hands in front of Salman as a sign of asking for his forgiveness. Unfortunately though Viveik's gesture did not make Salman relent and when he was later asked about the incident, he refused to even acknowledge that he knew anybody by the name of Viveik Oberoi.

However, seeing this apologetic gesture, Shilpa tried to coax Salman to relent and forgive Viveik, but Salman was still adamant and refused to forget and forgive.

The two actors have a history of not getting along, due to the presence of Aishwarya Rai in both their lives then. Viveik was a beginner in the film industry at the time and it seems his impulsiveness got him into a big mess.

At the time Viveik called a public press conference and claimed that a drunk Salman had hounded him with 41 abusive calls. Since then though a lot of water has passed under that bridge and the lady who was the bone of contention between the two has also moved on.

And for a while now Viveik has been trying to bridge the unpleasantness between himself and Salman and even visited Salman's mom in hospital when she was ill, while the Khan was in jail, but nonetheless it seems Salman was not impressed with his gesture and has continued to ignore the actor.

Chak De! India: Some Interesting Facts

Shah Rukh KhanChak De India : Some interesting facts!

Do you know that when Aditya Chopra first approached Shah Rukh Khan with the offer to act in Chak De India, the superstar turned down the offer?

At last, the D-Day is just around the corner for Yashraj Films presentation Chak De India. The movie is very unconventional not just by SRK's standards but also for Yashraj banner. There are 16 actresses but no love angle. There is no song n' dance. And there is no villain.

So why did SRK give his nod to the film?

SRK says when Aditya Chopra first came to him with the offer of 'Chak De India' he turned it down. Not because he didn't like the script, but because he was too busy back then to commit to this film. By some twist of fate, Aditya couldn't also complete the casting of girls in time. The film's shooting got delayed and when Aditya approached SRK again after seven months, SRK had free dates to spare and therefore he accepted the offer.

In fact, SRK says he agreed to do this film not for Aditya Chopra, but for director Shimit Amin , whom SRK calls "a good friend".

CASTING

You may also be surprised to know that Neetu Chandra was first considered to play the role of the captain of the girl's hockey team in the film. But, for reasons better known to the makers of the film, she was dropped from the project and Vidya Malvade was roped in. Shimit Amin says the criteria for casting the girls was that he wanted 8 girls who could act well and 8 other girls who could play hockey well.

HOCKEY STICK

The hockey stick that SRK uses in the film actually belonged to director Shimit Amin. When Shimit first read the film's script he went to a sports shop and bought himself a hockey stick. He kept this stick with himself during the film's pre-production work. Later, when the shooting began, the stick changed hands from Shimit to SRK. It is this stick SRK uses in the film.

ON THE HOCKEY FIELD

SRK has been a lover of hockey since his school days when he used to play the game. In fact, before shooting the film he thought that he would be able to outshine the girls on the hockey field. But when he stepped on the field and began playing, he found that he had lost his touch with the game. On the other hand, the girls proved much better at the game.

SHAH RUKH'S BEARD

SRK sports a beard throughout 'Chak De India'. The actor grew his beard over a period of two weeks. But there was a problem. Besides shooting the film he also had to shoot for some commercials that required a clean-shaven looks. SRK found a way out. After a shooting schedule of the film got over, he used to shave and shoot for the commercials. Then he would grow the beard again before the next schedule.

BASED ON A TRUE STORY

Chak De India is based on the true story of former hockey goalkeeper and coach Mir Ranjan Negi, who was charged with allegations of match-fixing after India’s humiliating 1-7 defeat to Pakistan in the 1982 Asian Games hockey final. Seven years later, Negi's honour was restored. He coached the national women’s hockey team that won gold at the 2002 Manchester Commonwealth Games.

In the film, SRK plays the coach.

Chak De India has been shot in Australia. The movie will release worldwide on August 10.

Shah Rukh and Big B exchanging gifts !!!

Shah Rukh KhanShah Rukh and Big B exchanging gifts

All the talk of 'cold war' between Shah Rukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan can take a beating.

While the two superstars have been alleging that their so-called 'cold war' was a creation of the media, there can be little doubt that the vibes between the two stars have been rather cold for some time.

But now things are warming up. SRK and Big B have been sending each other gifts lately.

Not long back, SRK gifted Big B a computer game (SRK is an avid lover of computer games). But Big B is relatively ignorant about such games. However, the sexagenarian superstar is glad that his grandson Agastya enjoyed playing the game gifted by SRK.

SRK also gifted Big B a white Dolce and Gabbana leather jacket, which Big B liked a great deal.

Reciprocating SRK's gesture, Mr. Bachchan also gifted him a trendy Dolce and Gabbana jacket along with an expensive pen.

Big B also dropped by during the shooting of SRK's home production Om Shanti Om and is making a one-scene guest appearance in the movie.

Shilpa Shetty leads UK opinion polls for the new Bond Girl

Shilpa ShettyShilpa Shetty leads UK opinion polls for the new Bond Girl

Bollywood star and Celebrity Big Brother winner Shilpa Shetty is now leading opinion polls as the first choice for the Bond girl's role opposite Daniel Craig in a Bond series movie.

It all started after 'The People' website in the UK raised the question about whether Shilpa would agree to play the Bond girl's role, right after she won 'Big Brother'.

Since then there have been opinion polls across the Internet and vast discussions on whether Shilpa qualifies for the ultimate glam role or not.

Interestingly thousands of people have actually voted for the dusky beauty and she has topped almost seven of these polls.

Surprisingly Halle Berry who was Bond girl in 2003's 'Die another day' and who replayed the famous 'Ursula Andress bikini shot from Dr. No' has come second to the Indian diva.

However there is a downside as well. There are also sections of people taking part in these discussions who have been saying that things aren't all that rosy and this could also end up as yet another big Bollywood rumour.

After some other Bollywood actors, now it's turn for rumours about the latest international celebrity from India.

As of now, Shilpa has many offers from the UK as well as the US. She hasn't consented to any except for the role of Sita in Uru Patels's 'Hanuman' which has two Hollywood stars playing the roles of Ram and Hanuman.

So if luck continues to favour the dusky Shilpa, a day might come when there is actually an Indian Bond girl creating history of the unique kind.
