Mobiles boon as well as curse
Hi friends
This one may be the most controversial topic
Men had always been more prone and vulnerable to the temptations of amorous adventures of all kinds. Be it long time parellel affairs, not so long time flings, short hook ups or even the one night, slam bang thank you Maa’ m types
Ladies had their set of reasons why they could not muster courage, find opportunities,or got the right connections or link up
In comes mobile telephony and all problems are now things of past
All those who had craved or had secret desire to have all types of links and hook ups have come out with vengeance, as if to catch up with the lost decades, if not centuries
So it is now possible to steal seconds, minutes, hours and in few cases days(nights) ala Mallika Sherawat of, (forgot the name of movie) fame, in the arms or wherever it suits or is convenient of the ‘partner’
Obviously men looking for such flings are not complaining. They are laughing all the way (to intimacy of all kinds and )in most cases to the beds !
Is there any casualty
Yes of course !!
Peace at home in families, future of so many children in such families and in a larger perspective, yes , Marriage as an institution
I would love to be proved wrong on this !!
PS :
The comments by friends are the source of valuable learning for me
Thanks, all of you !!

Dear fellow Ilanders
Bringing up a daughter is more tough or that of a son ?
Or it is different at different age as the child grows
Few may say that it is a pleasure to bring up your child, son or daughter, so there is no answer to this
May I hear your take on this
wish you all nicer times ahead

Hi, fellow islanders
An idea has been in mind for quite some time
I can not say it is possible ?
We all know that most countries in west have increasingly ageing population. These have started draining the social system for providing support and services to the aged persons. With less and less people in working age group, the cost of providing various type of services is becoming unsustainable.
On the other hand in India there is large % of population which is unemployed.
Is it possible that some old age people relocate from west to a place in India?
Now few considerations have to be thought of.
Firstly the place should have similar climatic conditions as their original place of living.
Secondly law and order situation should be reasonably good.
Thirdly support services like medical care should be good and essentials like electricity should be almost 24 X 7.
Lastly easy availability of people who can work as attendants, cooks, gardeners, security guards, laundrymen etc.
I feel hilly regions of Uttarakhand, Himachal, Maharashtra and may be few other states should qualify on all counts.
This idea was rekindled in my mind after reading about an old westerner somehwere in Goa who was refused extension of his stay there as he could not be granted this beyond a total period of eight years. why should we do that?
recently there was a news about honourable chief minister of Uttarakhand inaugurating a multispeciality hospital in Srinagar in that state. This may be a step in the right direction to achieve something I have been fantasising about.
Like always, your comments are solicited and welcome !
Thanks
PS.
Amount of foreign exchange it will generate can be anybody’s guess !!

Hi Friends,
There are couple of Utopian ideas that keep taking twists and turns in my mind so very often
I must admit these may sound totally outlandish or plain silly, specially to those of you with special bent of mind towards all things Scientific
First of these is :-
Is it possible for man to develop some sort of wings, of course mechanically assembled/ assorted, so that whoever gets these, can simply fly at will, like all those birds flying in the open sky. Some dream like this only must have lead Wright brothers to develop ’ Those Magnificent Flying Machines’
The second one, still crazier, is :-
We all see all types of vehicles tearing away speedily on roads
Is it possible to somehow make some portions of roads, in the manner like conveyor belt we see at the airport. So, rather than the vehicles moving, it is the section of road which moves and carries the mass of vehicles to whichever place the end of such stretch leads to. And this may be of many lanes, those of increasing speed, say from left to right, and the vehicles just slide from one lane to the other. Can such model be made economically viable, specially in places with perpetual traffic jams
Friends, most of you may laugh it over
Still some may give it a thought
Comments of all types are welcome !
Wish you all good times ahead

Fellow Ilanders,
It has been quite sometime since I have been thinking of writing few lines on some aspect of Indian Economy which are worth taking note of.
It was a while ago that there was a news item that Indians give some hundreds of thousand crores annually in the form of bribes
Does this money propel the growth engine of our Economy in a significant way
Who do you think buys various branded items sold, whether apparels, fashion, footwear, sports items, white goods or automobiles in the high price range
A large percentage of people are those who either get in many multiples, over and above their legitimate salary, in the form of oopar ki kamai, or those who evade taxes at will ( the list of such buyers obviously includes their family members)
So, is it that the parellel black economy is one of the cornerstone of India shining Growth Story
If there are friends who could enlighten me on this, I will be indebted to them

Hi Friends,
Today I am trying to express my views about an interesting topic.
I keep wondering whether makeup is necessary for all ladies to look good.
There are millions of ladies who look much better sans any type of makeup. They look extremely pretty, charming and attractive just if they wash their face with plain water and leave hair flowing, may be after washing with an ordinary shampoo. However, the makeup when applied on them makes them look worse and at times, horrible.
To name a few well known ladies in this category we can think of Madhubala, Jayaprada, Sharmila Tagore, Hema malini, Preity Zinta, Gul Panag and many more. There are millions of ladies who fall in this category around the world.
I simply wonder why do they use makeup or are made to use it by Directors of movies when it is well known that they look much better without it.
It is well known that there is an equal, may be a larger no. of ladies in whose case makeup is needed to hide the not so attractive features and highlight the pleasant ones.
Anyone wishing to throw light on this is welcome !
