People who know the yoga will know that yoga in west include three elements, postures (or asanas in Sanskrit), breath control (or pranayama) and meditation. When a person is doing the yoga, the first thing that we observed is their postures. Their elegant postures are easily be caught by us.


Yoga postures are the physical stretches. Postures come in standing, sitting, and inverted forms and are designed to improve suppleness, flexibility, and posture. They also stretch the muscles, and help to build stamina and strength in the body, as well as calming the mind.


Some postures are easy to learn, while some are difficult. I can remember that in my college, our roommates bought a yoga book. We only persisted some time. In that book, it teaches so many postures to beautify our arms, shoulders, breast, neck, legs, and so on.


Except the postures, when you are doing yoga, control breathe is also very important. The practise of breathe control enhances lung capacity, oxygenating and energizing the body, and improves the circulation. And the last element but not the least, is the meditation. We become more singleminded, our concentration improves, and we give up on habitual thought patterns, allowing us to become self-confident, open, and honest with ourselves and others.
