The Taj Mahal Tamasha!!

That Taj Mahal will be among the so called “New 7 Wonders” to be announced today, is a forgone conclusion.

But the fact is this whole exercise of “New7Wonders” is a private exercise, more so, a business venture launched by a Swiss adventurer Bernard Weber. This whole campaign has no official support or recognization from any international authority.

What is interesting is that our normally over-active media, which has been going all out to ask us to vote for Taj Mahal, not once reported about any authencity or lack of it. It has been one of most profitable venture for all people associated with it including media.

What is interesting is that our so-called idols like Shabana Azmi and many of her ilk have been a part of it, knowingly or unknowingly.

Ask yourself, will Taj Mahal lose its value if it is not declared a Wonder? No! Monuments like Taj Mahal, Wall of China, Pyramids, Collosium were, are and always will be man made wonders.
