Bhel-Puri of Mindless Thoughts!
If you understand the title…. Welcome to the club!
Mayawati is once again in the saddle. We will see how she rocks the UP cradle? One thing that I am sure of is that her tenure is going to create Dhoom…….. either UP will see a never-before kind of growth or it will become the worst state….. nothing in-between is going to happen in coming 5 years.
Behanji created a web of social engineering and all other parties got stuck in this carefully woven web.
Talking of web….. last movie that I saw was SPIDERMAN 3. There are a lot of critics who have given it a so-so rating, probably it wasn’t worth much of waiting for them. For me it was full paisa vasool two spidys for the price of one…..the black slacks looked cool….. but i wonder sometimes….. what will spidy do if needs to pee? does it have a zipper?…… If you have an answer do tell me….. you can also read the review at http://www.swatantrachetna.com/movies/hollywood/reviews/2007/review_spiderman3.htm .
After the spidy comes my other favorite SHREK THE THIRD. Actually apart from the green color and those two horns, we are quite similar…… I see a lot of myself in Shrek. “Cheeni Kum” is an interesting title. But wonder why the “K” in the “kum” is highlighted? I guess if the title had been “Cheeni Cum”, we woud have expected a Chinese sexual orgy…… Bad joke?? so be it!

Coming to movies, “1971 POW” is being acclaimed critically though box-office says otherwaise.
“Water”, though much acclaimed, seems no great shake. The movie is good and that’s about it.
Talking about other two movies would just be a waste of time.
I put my money on two releases next week - “Just Married” and “Hattrick”. Again, success is not guaranteed for any of those but those may make you feel good.

Nishabd! is the title of the movie but people are going bonkers over it. A few have loved it and the rest….. they are shocked, bored, disgusted (add any number of emotions), but no one is willing to go nishabd over “Nishabd”.
The most ridiculous response has come straight out of Kashi (Varanasi). Some very cultured people of Kashi chose to burn Amitabh’s and the movie’s posters claiming that the movie hurts the culture of Kashi.
CULTURE!! did they say? Anybody, more so females, who has been to Kashi and has dared to visit the narrow lanes or single screen cinema halls in Kashi would vouch for the groping culture of Kashi.
Be it a young teenager, a married woman, a middle aged woman, those cultured men just can’t help but grope the bodies of helpless women whether in the darkness of cinema hall or the crowded narrow lanes.
Kashi is major center for cheap Bhojpuri and dubbed movies and you will find these very cultured people enjoying the cheap thrills.
When these very cultured people choose to protest against the movie like Nishabd, I wonder what is bugging them? It might be that with such a storyline, there would be a lot of scope of sex and titilation in the movie, which these people have been deprived of, by the uncultured Ramu.
Moreover who would like to let go of a chance to been seen on TV with media going whole hog to create moral police out of these rowdy elements.
As a latest development, U.P. Congress has demanded that Nishabd be banned for it goes against the culture of U.P…….. You can laugh out loud or tear your hair in frustation over this.

Coming to honeymoon, the movie, is a sweet timepass. If some blokes (like the rediff reviewer) went hoping to see a Satyajit Ray master-piece, then naturally they would be disappointed. I had no such illusion. Honeymoon, delivers what it promises…. its that simple!
I request those over-sensitive, over-hyped critics to take a chill pill and enjoy their popcorn with pepsi once in a while rather than sitting up-tight with a perpatual frown waiting for a movie to end…. so that they could shred it apart.
Abhay Deol is sweet and natural… best among the deols. Kay Kay, Reema, Shabana, Boman, Sandhya are very good too.
