ELIMINATE TERRORISM

Friends,

Once again innocent people have been targeted in New Delhi. Every channel will run and rerun this news.Reams of paper will be devoted to condemn this cowardly act. Politicians will show sympathy towards the victims and their families/close relatives. Some monetary compensation will be announced for the affected people. Police and security agencies will become proactive after the blasts/incident. A few of the suspects will be  rounded up.Slowly we all will forget this incident.

But, now is the time to find some solution for this menance. The human life is becoming insecure due to these acts. The whole of social fibre does get affected.

Lots of discussion are already under way to locate the ways to eliminate terrorism.

A few of the possible ways to eliminate terrorism  can be —

• Strong and effective laws, clear definition of terrorists and terrorism. Include the associates of these criminals also in  these definitions.
• Witness protection mechanism to ensure public comes out and help the law enforcement agencies with out fear.With out the support of public and independent witnesses, the law enforcement agencies may not be able to locate the real culprits and bring them for prosecution.
• Similiarly a reward system can be formulated at national and state level for the public who can give specific/definite lead about these terrorists.This can be like the recent award system as implemented in Gujarat by Modi government.
• Fact track courts to hear and award maximum punishment to these wrong doers.
• Efficient intelligence network that uses the information technology tools to combat terrorism.Install CCTV cameras across the cities and particularly in the markets,parks, religious palces, schools etc. These places due to mass public presence can be/and are the potential target of terrorists. Electronic survellience should be used to intercept the messages of these law breakers.
• People participation in the intelligence network. Police and paramilitary forces personnel are few in numbers. To assist these forces Special Police officers can be designated from amongst the public. This system will strengthen the intelligence network due to the vast penetrtion level and ensure easy location of unwanted elements and their movement in the city.
• Draw a national policy that defines the line of action in case of blast/firing or other damage initiated by terrorists. As of now there is no clear cut line of action that comes into play in case of terrorist attacks. Moreover our security forces are also not prepared to react and face these type of situations.Every action taken by the security forces are hapharzedly implemented , with no clear line of action. Like the first reaction should be to control and reduce the damage that may take place in case of terrorist activity.Cordon off the area to ensure public presence is controlled in the affected area. Public on its part should also behave in a responsible manner. For this the public should desist from assembling in huge numbers at the incident site.Avoid clustering and help the security personnel to execute their work effectivily.

• curb the disparity between the haves and have nots and
• PLEASE STOP SHOWING VIOLENCE IN THE SERIALS AND MOVIES. These type of scenes give auto suggestions to youth and who may try to  experiment or may use/or try to imitiate the particular scene.
• Media should show some restrain while reporting these type of attacks.
