It all started in Hyderabad Chat Room in Rediff chat, when MR asked me whether I had any plans to visit Hyderabad. I was then at Mumbai. I told him that I will be arriving there on 14th morning as I had a conference from 15th January at Taj Krishna where I was presenting a technical paper.

DADA was also very enthusiastic about it. He said he is also reaching Hyderabad from Singapore and said all of us should meet. Then Narada Muni and Manoj also joined the group, Narada reaching from Delhi and Manoj from Chennai.

Then there was some lull from my side as I was busy in my work. One fine day MR told me that the venue is fixed and we will be meeting at KSHETRA in Khairatabad.

I left Mumbai on 13th and reached Hyderabad on 14th morning and immediately got busy in my work for conference. I have not got any of the telephone numbers for the final program nor I knew the status of the get together.

On 16th as usual was at Taj Krishna expecting MR to contact me. Till 1.00 pm my mobile was silent. Mean while one of our colleague wanted to go to his room to collect some information. I accompanied him to Golconda hotel in Masabtank. It was then my mobile started playing its music and I know it was from our friends waiting for me. I lifted the phone and said hello

A big resounding voice boomed into ears
‘Hi subbu where r u?’
It was definitely not MR’s voice.
I told him
‘We r all waiting for u’
‘Can u give the location pl?’
Suddenly the voice changed and MR was on line
‘Subbu garu it is in KSHETRA’
‘Maama where is that’
‘It is just beside EENADU office sir’
‘OK maama I am on my way. I will be there in 10 min’

I dropped my colleague at Taj Krishna and reached KSHETRA
I was confident that I can find my people there as I already met MR and Manoj and Vamsi.

There to my surprise I found a big crowd. All r in a frenzy mood. Meanwhile MR and Vamsi saw me and rushed towards me with hands stretched and with big smiles in their faces.

I was introduced to all gathering there and we had some nice group photos taken. Many people  I met there were a close chatters in the room and we had nice time in the chat room. But it was first time I am meeting them. Qunal bhai, Chitti_Chilaka Raja, DADA_GIRI,  No.10, ravi_garu etc are all from rediff chat and for the first time when I met the I was very much happy. Then we started our lunch. It was then, while discussing different things, someone said about the someone not getting medical attention because of the lack of required money. At that time we did not pay much attention to it.

After the lunch some our friends left to homes and we remaing decided to spend some more time together. We i mean myself MR, DADA, Vamsi, Manoj, Kunal bhai, etc. We all took our vehicles and reached Yatri Nivas and started chatting. Again our discussion came to the poor people and their woes. It was then we thought, why don�t we spare some amount and try to do some social work.
As soon as the idea cropped up we r all enthusiastic about and started to plan for it. It too almost 4 months of efforts to give the idea a practical form.   MR suggested the name ARCH Association of Rediff Chatters Hub) for our association. And we stuck to it

We started with a minor contributions and small social work like providing school books for poor from the contributions we made. Then we slowly increased pace of our activities by blood donations and organizing blood donation camps and campaigning on organ pledging etc.

Now ours is a registered group in the name of arch_swift, (SWIFT=Social service in free time) with about 30 people (mostly chatters in different sites) in the group. We have conducted blood donation camps, organ pledging through Mohan foundation, distribution of school books etc. The work was conducted  in different parts of Andhra Pradesh like in vishakapatnam, kakinada Guntur etc. We have provided financial support for 2 heart patients for surgery in addition to the arrangement of  free pathological tests for them. We plan to do anything possible and in our hands to help the people in need. Social work is still on and will continue.
