I am not concerned with the negativity of this trait, only its impact. IMO, if it is blogging that a frivolous writer — the kind described in the post — indulges in then it at least curtails the impact on society. When writng in newspapers and magazines one must exercise greater constraint and feel more responsibility. Then again, frivolous blogging has its impacts, but at least its not on the scale of the write in newspapers!

  21. Sarath Chandra says

Thanks for the wishes, afl, and the comment :)

  22. Kush A says

your hindi needs a lot of work. i think u shud communicate in english. perhaps u learnt hindi at school and werent such a good student :D

  23. Freedom Unbound says

    Thanks n same 2 u..:)

  24. Sarath Chandra says

:)) Come on, afl. It is a debate and I don’t think my views are being taken for what they are. Even now, I don’t think anybody who is talking to me understands what I mean (I think I tried what you said you would do); still demanding for “proof” for what I said, not choosing to hear my objection that I was ascribed “facts” and ideas which I never mentioned or intended (sometimes diametrically opposite). This is no longer about the content of the debate, but the fact that people have to hear each other in a debate in the first place. This, for me, is not happeninng.

Still, I appreciate your attempts at this. But I don’t think this is such a serious issue. I don’t hate anybody there. I still think Lissome, Vivek, and Amit are very intelligent and nice people. Sometimes, it just does not work out; happens :)

And really…thanks. You certainly have risen a lot especialy with the first line of your last para :)) I will be around your page, of course if you have no objection :)

  25. Bash says

Thanks for paying the visit and leaving comment on my blog….. Well dear i thought you are in my list….. no regrets…….here i shoot

  26. Sarath Chandra says

I don’t care to counter when whatever I say is heard as something else by the listeners and responded to as such.

And as you wish, I will stay away from your Gb, at least on this topic.

  27. amit goel says

I appreciate your sincere efforts to restore normalcy. Reminds me of F1 racing- when there is rain, a safety car comes in front and prevents the race from turning dangerous. Thanks for being the safety car :)

  28. Sarath Chandra says

A word means what it means, afl. Quoting you “But “Quit” is the easy path”; however “easy” does not mean “wrong”. When I face a choice I ask myself, “What is the “right” thing to do?” Not, “What is the difficult thing to do?”.

It is the same concept I have been trying to stress. If you oppose something state its disadvantages, don’t use words “not in tune with nature:, “opposing nature” or whatever. For me, these are not same as disadvantages.

BTW, you can have your opinion on nobody disrespecting me there and thanks for sharing that. But I will have to go with my judgment. It wasn’t in any earlier blogs; only this.

  29. Lissome Lady says

Jai Hind Alf. Happy Independence Day to you too. Hugssss

  30. Sarath Chandra says

afl, thanks for all the points and discussion on my gb. When I don’t think I am treated fairly in any relation - I quit, whether business, individual, or blogs as long as I have a choice. I don’t want to talk in an atmosphere where if I say, for example, “Hitler’s moustache looks funny like Chaplin’s”, the next thing I know people accuse me of supporting Hitler and in a few minutes, ask me why I am supporting the jewsih genocide and world war 2. All I said was the GW was not “as catastrophic” as somebody suggested and here I am saying “it is benign and very good and we should welcome it and we should destroy all ecology and we should consume energy and pollute everything without thinking” for the people there. I think I’ve had enough there. Thanks again.

  31. Sarath Chandra says

Afl, I don’t think anybody is really far there when applying stuff. What I say is, speak advantages and disadvantages; not other words which are not synonyms of that. I don’t think all anthropogenic acts (which are against nature) are by definition disadvantageous. Some acts against nature can be advantageous. So don’t use against nature as a synonym for disadvantage. That is all I wanted to say there.

  32. amit goel says

I very much love your sense of humour and timing ! It was a pleasure to see you, and sometimes to read you :) but then, the subject is complex , and as in all genuine debates, a cross section of opinions is essential to make it meaningful. And in this, Sarath has made an excellent contribution, and I am grateful to him.
