Let’s Grow Up!!!

Hi Friends!

Yesterday, while talking to one of my friends on phone, he gave a comment which I felt was a racist comment. Why ‘I felt’? Because he was quite comfortable saying that and he didn’t feel anything objectionable in that. Anyway. Afterwards I was thinking about this for a while. I felt very bad that why are we still in that verbal war of abusing people just because they belong to a particular cast, color, religion or region. And especially for those who proclaim that they are quite religious/ spiritual people. If you are really spiritual, you would never say something like that; because then you understand that religion and all is for physical body. Soul doesn’t understand anything like that. It doesn’t even know gender.

Friends I presume that all of us know that this physical body will come to an end after a period and the soul is eternal. It’ll reincarnate. The soul may reincarnate itself in the same culture or may not, in the same economic strata or may not, in the same country, religion, cast, sub-cast or may not. Then why this hue n cry about someone’s breed? I don’t know who I was in my last incarnation n who I’ll be in the next. I am a Brahmin in this incarnation because my soul chose a body in a Brahmin family; I may or may not be a Brahmin in my next birth. Then why should I differentiate between the Brahmins n non-Brahmins or Hindus n non-Hindus.

I would like to cite an incident here my friends. A few years back, a renowned Muslim leader was hanged till death. As per Muslim calendar, he was hanged on some auspicious day and buried the next day. Coincidently, the day he was hanged was ‘Vaikuntha Ekadashi’ as per Hindu calendar, which is again a very auspicious day. It is believed that Lord Vishnu opens the gates of his holy abode to all souls died on that day. So the soul of that leader also would have gone to Lord Vishnu’s abode. And as that leader was buried on the following day, this made him even more fortunate as it is said that a person, who dies on ‘Vaikuntha Ekadashi’ but is cremated  on Dwadashi (next day) is sure to go to Vaikunthadham. So friends, even though, he was a Muslim in this incarnation, he went to Vaikuntha. How amazing, isn’t it?

So I religiously request to all those who are sparing their precious time to read my space; that it’s high time; let’s take a call and grow up a bit; change our perspective to look at people and forget about the differences and lead a peaceful life!

Cheers J
