I am a Commitment phobic!!!

I am sure that my today’s post will drive you in frenzy!

Around the world, we witness that relationships break because there was no commitment from one partner, right? Or One was involved head to toe n the other was not committed at all.

You’ll say that here I am vouching for commitment and there I am writing that I am a commitment phobic? How is that possible? How can one make two totally different, disagreeable statements at one time?? Not getting me no? Never mind!!

Now come on n tread with me for some time on my path of thinking. Friends, I always think in a bit different direction. I don’t know if my thought process is correct or not; whether I think rationally or not; but I believe in emptying my mind of thoughts those frequent me every now n then.

So coming back to the title of my today’s post, I want to tell you that I don’t believe in commitment. Yes friends, I feel it’s a negative term. It binds you and your actions in your precious relationships. What is a commitment? The dictionary meaning of this word also shows some negativity bound with it. The definition goes like this- “Commitment”- noun,  1.the act of committing or pledging, 2. the state of being committed or pledged, 3. an obligation, promise etc. that restricts freedom of action.

So friends, tell me, is your relationship so shallow that it needs to restrict someone’s freedom to act the way he/she may or may not wish to? What’s the point in carrying a relationship which binds you to something which you may or may not like to do? Why should one have a relationship which is like carrying a big burden on your head for rest of your life?

I wanna say just one thing, that instead of committing something in a relationship, why not try on a day-to-day basis to make the relationship work for you n your partner, become more enjoyable, more meaningful, worthier and more precious!  Why not understand each other’s way of thinking, likes, dislikes, priorities and duties? Why not give a chance to our partner to express his/her feelings and allow to vent out negative feelings like anger and frustrations to free him/her of those. I am sure, you all would agree with me that whenever we feel free; with no restrictions n all, we give our best. Our mind is tuned in a way that it rebels for no reason with the mere thought of being controlled by someone else. We love our freedom. So, why to commit and why not to just give the best; with no outer control, restrictions n binding. I think, we can always exercise self-control! And then I believe in a relationship which would help me feel evolved, which would bring out the best in me, which would make me feel proud. I believe in freedom of thought n freedom of expression and probably that’s why I never ask for any commitment, any promises from my near n dear ones. I feel, if you have some emotional value and respect for that relationship, you’ll surely do what your partner would like you to do. I believe in unconditional approach in my life. A relationship can grow only when it has some space. I just don’t believe in hypocrisy; what’s the point showing a happy face smiling all the time when your heart is crying? What’s your say??
