    Hi Ganesh,
Just curious to know with the high rise in inflation and speculation in the oil prices, and amidst some recent job cuts in US, leaving aside the ROW markets where many of the IT majors still to penetrate to crust. What do you see in the coming 1 or 2 years / till the new US president gets into the chair the fate of Indian IT professionals… both as NASSCOM chairman and as a blogger?

NASSCOM should also address the talent creation. There are not many employable candidates and not much industry participation in the education domain. Also, there is dearth of faculty that create talent. It is time NASSCOM address these issues.

I am a person working on compliance for a mnc. How about Nasscom coming to the front end and fight to reduce piracy of software produced by difference companies around the world and what is your perspective in this kind of actions against whom pirate the valuable asset of a company. What is best kind of contribution you would like to give to the software community as a nasscom man????

  14. Deepak says

I am currently pursuing B.tech in COMPUTER SCIENCE and would always like to know about skill sets required in BPO/KPO and also about new emerging areas.

  15. Mahavir Karnavat says

NASSCOM’s success story so far is limited to the IT & ITES companies to acheive more visibility, more business and lobbying with various government agencies for welfare of its members. I think one more dimention need to be added to this - infrastructure (not only airports) in and arount major IT hubs like E-City (Bangalore), Whitefield (Bangalore), Hinjewadi (pune), Magarpatta City/Infocity (Pune) etc. The road traffic is gorrible to say the least. NASSCOM should lobby to the concerned govt agencies for speedier solution in this regard.

  17. Mallik says

    Hi,

I run a small company providing QA services to companies dealing with digital video. If you are sincere about using this blog to reach wider audience, my suggestion would be to address issues that very small companies like mine face. The big guys do not need your help any way, other than for branding which they have already achieved. It would serve no purpose if readers bombard you with questions like: Which is the hottest technology and How do I get a job?

I would be very grateful if you can visualize yourself as a mentor for companies like mine and provide inputs on various aspects. I regard that as a primary goal of NASSCOM. As you may already be aware, companies like mine provide considerable if not significant amount of talent for the bigger fish. Many a time, a guy who is not eligible to write the screening test, is hired by the same company after being with companies like mine. So, your inputs serve multiple purposes.

    Thanks,
    Mallik

    Hi Ganesh,

My name is Krishna from Melbourne, Australia. I run a software company specialising in ERP. It is interesting to know how you spend couple of minutes of your busy time on your blog about your experiences from the world.

I have few questions to ask you,

    1) what is your management style, centralised or decentralised? How do you plan to expand your operations?

    2) Do you apply ”Marvadi” mentality in your operations or “Innovative” ways of doing business?

    Would appreciate your quick response.

    Thanks in advance.

    Dear Sir,

I am an AMIE (Institution of Engineers, Kolcutta) Student. You knew AMIE is equivalent to BE graduation and you will be knowing that course has a tough paper valuation and vast syllabus. Making 65% to 75% is very tough for the working peoples who study this course.

We are not able to get entry in Big IT/Electronics/Electrical companies due to that percentage criteria. So we request you to give some order/request to that Corporates/IT/MNCs to make some recruitment allocation to AMIE graduates despite the markes scored. . So that we can explore our knowledge and stuff to the benfit of the ocncern. We have the ability to adapt ourselves for any Corporates. Kindly looking your favourable orders/suggestion to the IT companies.

  20. Ken Mathew says

I am glad that I am able to interact with you through your blog. For those like me who don’t have a big corporate brand behind them, this initiative will help to get in touch with the grass root and those at the grass root level to reach you.

I have designed a system, which addresses the problem of FAKE RESUME and FAKE CERTIFICATES at its source. The system has been hosted online at http://www.authentictrackrecord.com

Today, even if wrong information of a candidate is circulated due to typographical error, after employment verification, the candidate’s resume may get marked as a fake resume. At the same time there are others who provide fake information and snatch the opportunity that the authentic candidate deserves.

My system provides a proactive solution, which addresses the problem at its source, which means that the candidate cannot make error or fake information. This system also provides solutions to many other HR issues, like NO SHOW, Attrition etc.

  21. Chenthil Kumar says

    Hi
I would suggest NASSCOMM to have membership of Software Professionals…after checking thier CREDENTIALS and Say NASSCOM CERTIFIED..so that the FAKING OF RESUME STOPS WHICH SPOILS OUR COUNTRY NAME

My company has recently venture into SEZ unit and the unit has been housed under the same legal entity where even STPI unit is functioning. As you may be aware, if SEZ unit is housed under the same entity, there are issues in claiming SEZ tax exemption ( refer article published recently in ET). Wanted to check, whehter Nasscom will able to provide any relief to all those companies who has housed the SEZ unit within same legal entity ? Can you able to tell us whether Nasscom will able to get some interim clarification from govt authorities? Even wanted to chk on question raised by Service tax authorities on service tax exemption available to SEZ unit

Your article in TOI Remember the values of ’samarpan’. I was moved and could envisage the personality of a genuine person. It is rare that people in their hey days really do remember & appreciate their teachers/mentors. I am associated with a school run by the Trust at Lonavla. I would appreciate if you could spare some time to meet us, me and my husband Mr. Patel. we are from Mumbai . We have started a school in memory of our young son whom we lost in a tragic accident. Our aim is to immortalize him, hence the day school. Also I extend you a warm invitation to visit us whenever possible to enlighten us and those working towards our goal ‘education for life’

    Dear Mr. Natrajan,

It is very difficult to locate that you have done your PG in Industrial Engineering from NITIE “in any official looking web page”. You probably are inclined to mentioning only IIT Bombay & Harvard. Where as you probably got a decent launchpad in life at NITIE as well. I being an Industrial Management grad from NITIE, feel bad about this reluctance to publicly display your PG when our (yours & mine) Institute has felicitated you multiple times & the students at campus look up to you with dedicated respect.

    Please comment.

    Yours truly,

    Respected Sir

    Heartfelt Greetings.
I am a student of K.J.Somaiya Engg.College ,where you have just recently expanded your fan base. At the onset i must confess i am bit reluctant to write a post to a person of your stature. But i had too.I wanted you to know that you have been tremendously inspirational for me. If 30 yrs down the line i attain my goals ,it is due to that 30 min session.

  33. Satya Prakash says

I am currently working in sotware industry 1.5 years in development and now in testing. Then what I was doing at gttconnect.com session. Lots of my juniors who are in colleges keep me asking about the career options and so I have to attend these sessions in order to answer thir queries.
I would like to appreciate about the answer you have given to the query. A person asked you about Agriculuture and seeing towards India , you have answered him well. And that let me to think why that gap is so.
It is just because we have seminars on IT but we do not have it on agriculture.
The govt gives funds for setting up agri clinics. but these are to be highlighted and their are many opportunities but the Agriculture sector should come up with conferences and ideas to attract the people …coz there are lots of people who are inclined to agriculture sector but do not have knowledege.
One more thing I came to know about your place in the seminar.

I am from Bihar and working in an MNC in Pune

  34. Satya Prakash says

    Hi Sir,
This is related to the talk which you gave on a carrer talk session for gttconnect.com.

I came to know about various career options and different tracks to work on. The strategy a student should take while completing his project, The team has come up with the brilliant idea giving the students a platform to interact to take help and become the best techocrats.
The students at their stage do not understand the importance of other aspects of work. I mean to say suppose they are good at coding but they do not want to document the things. It is very important to teach the prototype, design documents, SRS etc so that they would come upon the best one.
I really appreciate the teams who are a helping hand to the students. In addition to that the thoughts you all are providing to them are marvellous . The sessions that are conducted , answering the queries of the students…these also helps them on personality development side.
    Kudos to team

Why cannot you quit, you fool?

  37. badri narayanan says

You are a piece of trash.. a loser who is all fluff and no substance. I have heard from some of your IIT/NITIE colleagues that u steal other people\’s ideas and cleverly market it. God will punish you.

  38. sangita murali says

    Ganesh -
you are one of the most disliked people in india’s IT industry. People know you to be a clever manipulator, mediocre thinker and of poor character. You are doing well right now, but you will sink eventually.

  43. Lissome Lady says

Very well written and reasoned Ganesh. Pleasure to read you. “War on terrorism” , “Enough is enough”, ” We will not live in Fear” etc will remain cliches if they are not backed up by the multi-pronged action that you have outlined here. There is just one thing that I would like to add. The cache of terrorists and their methods of self annihilating terrorism is like nothing we have seen before, especially young, bright eyed and busy tailed as the cadres come. Therefore we do need to look into the psyche of those who are ready to volunteer for such acts, our intelligence must encompass the activities of organisations who garner their anger and harness their hatred. Counselling and care of these young people need to be looked into by governments when tragedies occur as they typically perpetuate other tragedies. Do not leave the vulnerable young unattended. Countering the education of evil by that of nurture is needed. Are we looking at Gujerat in this aspect?
