Milky Tales
People get all sorts of ideas all the time, then how can I be far behind?
I have never heard of anyone else, who wanted to bite someone’s neck, that too a stranger’s neck.
Oh, but everyone has heard of biting-off an ear, oh no, I don’t want to be in that category.
My former self implemented this full logic, however convoluted that might look today.
Long long ago, I had a schedule where I had to sleep at 11, wake up at 6:15 and leave the house by 7:05.
But why should I follow schedules, I used to sleep at 12:30, woke up at 6:30 and run from the house at 7:08.
(the bus arrived at 7:10 and it was a 5 min walk to the bus stand)
I was staying with my uncle’s (mother’s brother) family.
All I was ordered to, was to have one glass of milk in the morning before leaving.
And so the milky tales started.
Attempt No 1:
Easy thing, boil milk, drink a glassful and leave.
Difficult part is to drink hot milk, I can only drink milk at room temperature.
Hot hot hot, Late late late.
Tried for a week, time to move on.
Attempt No 2:
Different approach, no milk in the morning.
No getting late, no hot milk.
Some days later, I got scolded for not drinking milk.
Absence of glass used for drinking milk was proof enough.
Attempt No 3:
Forget the damn hot milk.
Lets not boil milk at all, lets drink cold milk.
Good idea but drinking a full glass of cold milk made me dizzy.
And the damn sugar won’t mix.
Attempt No 4:
A week passed, a new plan.
I’ll take only little milk, the quantity which is usually left at the bottom of the glass.
I’ll pour it along the sides of the glass and start rotating the glass.
And I used to put the glass in the sink and I was happy.
Attempt No 5:
Moved on to taking half a glass of milk.
Got scolded again for implementing this and the above one.
Later realized that my uncle makes the last tea at the end of the prev day.
And the first one on the next day.
Attempt No 6:
One glass of milk tries to make my life hell.
Now its payback time.
I’ll take a full glass of milk and pour it off into the sink.
And I’ll pour some water on top of it to remove out any traces.
Attempt No 7:
Two days later, I finally realized.
I am actually a fool.
I can pour milk into a glass immediately after waking up.
And drink it after I get ready, when it will be at room temperature.
So finally, now when I drink milk, its sugar-less.
Bournvita-less, poured into a glass.
Directly from the container in the fridge.
Without even using the chhani to separate the malai.
(chhani = filter, malai = cream)
Saves time, isn’t it?
PS - I still remember my promise from the last post, please don’t hurl any shoes at me for the delay in fulfilling it
