Our intellect is of no use.

June 15th, 2007

To see an object that is in the dark both the eye and the light of the lamp are required.

To see the light alone, the eye is enough.

But to see the sun there is no need for any other light.

Our intellect or buddhi is of no use to realize the Self.

To see the world of external objects, the mind and the reflected light (or chidabhasa) which always rises with it are necessary.

To see the Self, the mind has simply to be turned inside and there is no need of the reflected light. Sri Ramana Maharishi

Optimism

HOW TO BE OPTIMISTIC???

You can only have one tought at a time.
This is the key to feeling optimistic. You only can keep one thought in your head at a time. So what should your one thought be??Dwell on what you want to achieve.?Do not dwell on what you do not want.

Expect the best. What are you thinking about? “A man is what he thinks about all day long.”Generally, as you begin your day or a project, your frame-of-mind proves extremely important.

Strong ambition.Wishy-washy people do not go very far. The people who move mountains, people who get things done, are people who feel a profound sense of mission. Every highly successful person is a maniac on a mission.

Gumption to change how you think. The way you handle situations has served you to some degree. Now you?have to feel more confident and optimistic than you ever may have dreamed possible. You can unleash your enegy and hone your focus on what you most want.

Persistence.Persistence is a key to feeling happy. Persistent people achieve more than their less persistence colleagues.
