If the true giver gives…

Without seeing, how can I praise the Lord?
The knowledge thro which I could have understood a bit, that wisdom has not developed in me.

Knowledge less person does only unwise earnings.
The blind acts in blindness.

When one realizes the sound of the Shabad i.e. the voice of the god, then only the spirit of god comes to abide in the mind.

There is One Shabad i.e. the voice of the god, there is One Guru; there is only one Shabad to contemplate.

True is the trader, and true is the shop; the warehouses are overflowing with jewels. By Guru’s Grace they are obtained, that is, only if the Great Giver gives them. By dealing in this true trading, one earns the profit of the incomparable Naam. In the midst of poison, the Ambrosial Nectar is revealed and by His Mercy only, one drinks it in.

Not knowing the purpose of getting birth as a human.

January 11th, 2010 8 comments »

English Translation:

Without knowing the purpose of having birth, coming to this human world is useless.

Without knowing purpose and having senses of getting birth, if a person does lots of alterations and makeup of his body then consider as if a dead one is being made to wear cloths.

Without having feelings and senses of the spiritual life a human is like a women who decorates her body and bed and expresses her beauty in many a ways but  couldn’t achieve closeness of her husband. She feels sad when she looks at the ornaments she is wearing.

Hindi Translation:

Janam manorath ki samjh bina, manukh jagat mein aana vyarth hi jano.

Janam manorth ki sooh kay bina agar manukh apnay sharer kay vastay anekon banawatein aur shingar karta hay tou aisay hi janon jaisay murday ko kapday pehnaey ja rahey hoen.

Things are not as they seem.

THE WORD OF DEVOTEE RAVI DAAS JEE:

When I am in my ego, then “You” are not with me. Now that “You” are with me, there is no egotism within me. The wind may raise up huge waves in the vast ocean, but they are just water in water.  O Lord, what can I say about such an illusion? Things are not as they seem.

It is like the king, who falls asleep upon his throne, and dreams that he is a beggar. His kingdom is intact, but separated from it, he suffers in sorrow. Such is my own condition. Like the story of the rope mistaken for a snake, the mystery has now been explained to me. Like the many bracelets, which I mistakenly thought were gold; now, I do not say what I said then.

The One Lord is pervading the many forms; He enjoys Himself in all hearts. Says Ravi Daas, the Lord is nearer than our own hands and feet. Whatever will be, will be.

A five ball game.

December 28th, 2009 1 comment »

Imagine life as a game in which you are juggling some five balls in the air.

You name them - Work, Family, Health, Friends and Spirit and you’re keeping all of these in the air.

You will soon understand that work is a rubber ball. If you drop it, it will bounce back.

But the other four Balls - Family, Health, Friends and Spirit - are made of glass. If you drop one of these; they will be irrevocably scuffed, marked, nicked, damaged or even shattered. They will never be the same. You must understand that and strive for it.”

Work efficiently during office hours so as to leave on time.

Give the required time to your family, friends & have proper rest.
