Kolkata Inferno

For the past one week I have been tweeting regularly at www.twitter.com/jagrukindian on this issue of Kolkata’s Stephen Court tragedy which has by now claimed over 30 lives & left the others homeless & probably nowhere to go to.

Civic authorities after all these years (with these untimely deaths serving as a booster) have now declared the building unsafe & has most wilfully ordered the demolition of the top 2 floors.Great awakening indeed.

I have a completely different question to raise in this context.Who all were the area inspectors during the past 10 or 15 years of this area who kept on giving a clean chit to the construction of the top two floors which are now considered unsafe?

Naturally these floors did not spring up overnight.Nor was it done behind a hidden stratosphere rather it was collusion behind closed doors among the builders and the area inspectors (over the years including the current one) responsible to sanction or reject proposals which endanger human lives which has now resulted in the death of 30 unsuspecting young victims.

We therefore have a strong case to fix accountability on these corrupt miscreants. Not only an FIR under IPC 302/307 should be registred against these officials blindfolded by the colour of Indian currency but also they should be tried in Fast Track courts & severe punishment should be imposed on them immediately & urgently so that the souls of the innocent victims & their families will find some reconciliatory peace when they see people who flouted the law being brought to justice.

Hope Kolkata Police commissioner Gautam Mohan Chakraborty is listening. Jai hind

MF Hussain the OUTCAST

Hello people there is too much talk doing the rounds these days on MF Hussain – “the great Indian Painter”. However there are two entirely different points to be focussed on & dealt with seperately:

(1)    MF Hussain being driven out of the country. Yes this is where I have a serious problem. In India it is the lynching of democracy that keeps happening to millions of people in this country, infact easier done than said. YOU CAN EASILY IMPLICATE ANYONE & EVERYONE IN A FALSE CASE. I know it as I have experienced it myself. Interestingly a person so implicated has to get dutifully arrested, then released on bail & then begins the never ending saga i.e. do the rounds of the court  for years to come (for if you do not do that you would be arrested & put in Jail for non-appearance) till that dawn when presumably a judgement may be passed in your favour or if you are not so lucky against you wherein you find yourself catapulted into the next level of entanglement i.e. appealing & hearing & so on…. What I want to say here is that : if it is say upto a dozen cases may be you have the time, energy & money to deal with this unfortunately complicated legal system that we have in our otherwise beautiful country but for a man to be attacked & loaded with 900 odd bloody cases piled up against him OooPS…. Man it is too much… what else do you expect when you are FORCING SOMEONE INTO EXILE ? Any man if he wishes not to accept doing rounds of the court as his “never ending” career will do exactly what MF Hussain has done. So who is to blame naturally the “BLIND LEGAL SYSTEM” in this country & the GOVERNMENT who sponsors it.

(2)    Now for the second part; Can MF Hussain agree to see someone paint his own mother in the Nude ?or for that matter can any one of us tolerate to see our mothers or sisters painted in the nude and tagged or hailed as “a modern piece of art”? If the answers is NO he should not have ever played with the sentiments of millions of people of this country. What he has painted cannot be justified under “FREEDOM of expression ” under any context since it has hurt the religious sentiment of one or the other religion.

Hollow Justice or call it victimisation

Judgements delivered after or over even 5 years (talkless of 10,15 or 20 years) can no more be classifed as “Justice prevailed”. Infact it would be more apt to address it as Justice delayed hence denied.

If to reach the stage of simple hearing or evidencing the court requires 6 to 7 years (or may be more) it already describes the quality of the legal system in place in our country.

Clearly in this prolonged process innocent (but accused) who might have managed to get bail somehow & were forced to put up with court appearances (50 or may be even more) on all the dates called for by the Hon’ble court, has already been victimised by the pathetic legal system in the country (if not by the false complainant).

The process assumes iconic status when the such a victimised person is surrounded by hounds (i.e. the bribe licking advocates,Investigation Officer’s & Court attendants) who leave no stones unturned to talk such a person into eventual pitfalls or alternatives against his will or liking at the cost of his comfort, time, money, peace & may be career.

This eventually becomes critical if the false complainant has gained an upperhand by misrepresenting the facts n figures initially & had got the accused arrested thereby brutally hurting his confidence leaving him no room to represent himself apropriately but to move like a puppet (before the trap laid out by this tricky judicial system) to save himself by managing a bail thru preset(to be read prepaid) norms and that at the mercy of the false complainant whose illogical demands financial or otherwise he may have had to “submit” against his will to ensure his own freedom or the freedom of his near n dear ones who may have also been trapped by the wily complainant or his designated “man/men  in black”.

In a country where the legal system is forcing millions of its citizens to go through this torture how can you say justice is even being delivered in the first place & then how do you compensate someone like Mr Girhotra or his son (in the infamous Ruchika case). His & his son’s life is typical case which luckily caught the eye of the media but there are millions who cannot afford media attention or how have perished hoping for justice…..

Corruption free India

Is corruption free India a reality? Well I am afraid the right answer would be NO. Atleast not in the immediate future.

Did you ask why? Well then, You, yes you are the very reason. Still zapped….. Alright let me explain that a bit:

(a)How many times have you ever supported a movement that has come to you seeking your participation in fighting corruption?
(b)If you could not extend physical support, then how many times did you financially support their programmes that they intended to conduct?
(c)How many times have you yourself put up a fight against a corrupt babu, a corrupt policeman or a corrupt practice in your neighbourhood?
(d)How many times have you raised an RTI against any corrupt in your locality or district?
(e)How many times have you approached a police station in or around your place to highlight a wrong practice in your neighbourhood?

If you still want to correct the system.Don’t waste any more time reading this blog or scribling your opinions on various issues instead get up & step into the real world & start doing any of the above or if you can better my expectations “all of the above”.

It is only then that you can see making a difference yourself.

Media Slapped & Scorned

Media Slapped & Scorned

It is interesting to note that Indian Politics & its caretakers have this time slapped the media right across the face. "Good or bad" that is for you to judge. In my opinion the media has been spitted on & scorned at.

It was the media pressure /tactic that forced the Govt. of India to withdraw Vilasrao Deshmukh as the CM of Maharashtra, force resignations of the state home minister R.R. Patil & the then DGP A. N. Roy to be transferred but .. but . Whoever thought that was it, was living in a fool's paradise.

Barely within 6 months the CM who was withdrawn was rewarded the berth of a Cabinet Minister

Barely within 8 months the D G P who was transferred was brought back & this time with a promotion as the Maharashtra State Police Head

Barely within 11 & a half months the Maharashtra state Home Minister R. R. Patil who was  made to resign & lie low for "that" moment has been restored as the Maharashtra state Home Minister.

So that's it ! It would cost me another blog to critically analyze what other surprises the Govt. of this country has for us Citizens. I also wonder how many more 26/11's would be required to wake up the herd of SELFISH COWARDS in this country ?

I DO NOT KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING ABOUT IT BUT I HAVE DECIDED WITH OUR VOLUNTEERS TO KNOCK AT THE DOORS OF THE GOVERNMENT on 26th november 2009 at JANTAR MANTAR at 11:00 AM & TELL THEM I HAVE FEW INDIANS WITH ME WHO ARE STILL ALIVE, HAPPENNING & doing the NEEDFUL!

Legitimizing my faults

Within 12 hours yesterday 12 people die on tracks in NCR.Interestingly angry locals from the Jhatoli village not only ransacked the railway premises but also severely beat up the railway staffers for a mistake supposedly of the dead victims who belonged to the same village.

The Mistake:The victims, had got off a bus on the flyover that runs above the railway tracks, about half a kilometre from Pataudi Road Station. They were to catch a local train to Gurgaon and decided to walk on the tracks instead of taking a detour to reach the station.

However I hear, that rather than “highlighting the above consequence” & issuing a strict warning to all found loitering on the railway tracks [trying to take a short cut to... where ever??], the Government is out to legitimize the mistake by doling out compensation of about 5 lacs to the dead victims. Strange…isn’t it?

Shiney’s mistimed erectile overfunction

Whatever be the outcome of the Shiny rape episode one thing that stands established is human behaviour is spontaneous & unpredictable and if allowed to have its own say in the fit of the moment usually erroneous with devastating consequences for the propagator.

Also an important point that could definitely be established is that "Osho" was absolutely right when he propagated the ideology of seeking "Divinity through Sex" for if you look at it "Sex is actually Divine" for it knows not to differentiate on the basis of caste, creed, colour, religion, persona, status or any other factor that we humans usually tend to make a fuss about.

As law takes its own course I really wonder at how a "spur of the moment erectile overfunction" could change the future course for an individual who was otherwise blessed with an envious career & a blooming future to look forward to.

26/11 long forgotten but not at JNSS

Yes it seems we the resilient Indians (resilient by force of course) have long forgotten the 26/11 carnage or at least it seems so but JNSS (Jagruk Nagrik Suraksha Sangathan) an organization registered nationally with its head office in Delhi, has made it a point not to let this unbelievable incident [of the economic capital of India being put to siege for over 72 hrs & saw over 200 killed & over 500 injured] pass by as "just another incident". To support JNSS you can become an active member of JNSS at www.jnss.in

It is quite obvious that with the kind of porous borders that we have which is managed by corrupt hands who are inturn governed by even more insensous & criminal political brains together with the least motivated & the most ill-equipped police force we cannot just shrug of this incident of mass brutality or even guarantee that an even fiercer & sabotaging ones would not happen in the near future. The fact is you never know when & where these highly motivated & sophisticatedly trained terrorists who are working overnight would come knocking NEXT.

Hey, atleast I do not want to be caught napping again though I can't say the same for others around me. Well I wonder what's your stand on this issue ? or does it bother you at all ' "waiting to be caught in the line of fire?"

Well it would be interesting to see if we the complain mongers would really come all out with our energy & time and if not both of these (which is quite understandable because of our busy scheds) then atleast support JNSS with their resources in terms of providing free office space, vehicles for campaign/roadshow & the much needed finances umm…What would you do… let me know about it please!
