Yesterday, I taught my kids a Shloka that they could chant. This was taught to me by my elders when I was a kid. It has a great meaning.
‘I am fully aware of the work that I am doing. The work that I am doing for my nation, for my society is not easy. Many problems are going to come, I have to face these problems & get successful for my own country, for my own people. To burn youself to give light to society is not easy. I am aware of this & still then I am going to follow the path.’
At the age of 8 to 9 years, I didn’t understood the meaning at all, only realised the dedication & some different kind of emotions of my father while he said that shloka.
As I grew older, started knowing our history, right from Ramamyan, Mahahbharat, historic period, Maharana Pratap, Shivaji, Guru Govind Sing & many known unknown heros I started realising its meaning.
When I came across the thoughts & life of people like Ram Mohan Roy, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, Mahrshi Karve, Mahatma Phule, Mahatma Gandhi (here I would admit that I partially agree with his thoughts.) & many more who spent their whole life for betterment of society, I started understanding this shloka.
A period came in my life when I also did a small work. That period showed me the requirments of many people, their problems, helplessness , their fight against it & I also saw many people who were living above mentioned shloka.
I was really thrilled. Till now I was only reading about such people. Experiencing such people was like getting a tonic for my future.
At this stage of my life when I remember this shloka, I could see many people arround me who are living this shloka in their circumpherence, not even in maharashtra but through out the India.
In the efforts of these people if everybody will decide to share his/her small part of responsibility, it would be quite smooth walk for our nation.
As a mother when I look at my kids I pray god that let them understand the meaning of independance, enjoy it along with the responsibilities. Let God give me the ability to gude my kids in the correct direction. What happens in the future that I don’t know. But, I can’t stop doing my efforts.

future we do not know ,yes but when you have put in right mould the impression will bring forth a young well modelled youth of India.
