Life & Sufferings: Just Another Thought

Life is not easy.

And is unpredictable too.

It has its ups and downs, curves and straight paths, and sometimes it goes sideways.

Lessons on wisdom of life inevitably find their way during a moment of crises as prompt reminders of the incertitude and mysteries of life. At times, the unexpected twists and turns may leave us with no choice but an unqualified and unquestioned submission to compromise and adjust with the new order.

Our infantile spirit may wish to resist, crying out loud, contending with the maker and refusing to reconcile. However, 'Maker' and 'Life', intractable and incontestable, soon make us realize our own foolishness in undertaking such efforts.

We may choose an abject surrender; let pain overwhelm our sensibility, stifle our aspirations, dreams and happiness and imperil the 'I' in the process. The protracted agony may harbour a silent hope and still carry itself to grave.

Or we may choose to balance the practicalities of life with our shattered hopes and ambitions; when caught in intransigent situations prudently give precedence to acceptance, yet, working discreetly but diligently towards change, keeping the dreams alive in a secret corner of our heart, until one day we are able to live them again!

This is not how I wished to say this …

Where's the story I had in mind when I began writing this??

  • I think crisis some times makes you more determined to persue the gaol of your dream ,though society discourages you to take unkown path.

  • i personally believe, sometimes we get too weak and surrender too quick, leaving our dreams uncherished and unfollowed… sometimes, it gets too late in this process when we may pursue the dream but lose the passion behind it.. so, its better to swim against the tide if u r actually passionate abt sumthn… but, i lied ur writing neways.. u have presented it really well…

  • very well developed and very logically presented thoughts…wonderful post!

  • Dreams that are worth holding on to should not be allowed to die. Store the seeds in a corner of your heart as you say and when the time comes, they”ll sprout and grow and blossom and bear fruit. But meanwhile, yes, work towards it.

  • Jerome, not all dreams are worth storing in that little corner of the heart… In my opinion, no dream which involves only ourself is…. Idealistic it might sound but typically it should be “Dream for others, work for yourself”

  • Dat’’s quite impressive narration……….and you have amazingly presented it……read it many times……Thanx for sharing :)……..Raj…..

  • hey where’’s the story you had in mind when you began writing this??……:):)

  • Very good message, so true… and wonderfully written like a philosopher! We won”t mind your wandering from where you started if you write like this… All the best! (Rahul)

  • stifling the perceptible limitations and expanding the idea of infinite
could juxtapose each other, is it so? a definite style of presenting
    the stream of thought.
    good day.

  • Jerome, ur post got me thinking. There have been so many instances when I have surrendered my aspirations and went on living as if everything was fine. I remembered the lines from paulo cohelo’’s boot ”the Zahir” whre the main protagonist says that he want the words “He died while he was alive” as his epitaph on the gravestone. I think that is how it is when we let go our dreams due to circumstances - dying while still living.

  • well said,

  • very thought provoking post! The description of pain and our surrender to our inability to beat the intensity of pain…reminds me of cancer patients where pain becomes a inseparable foe.. They live each second with it and die with it The pain can be killing!

  • Now what did I write yesterday? :) You are putting me in a spot, testing my memory and all…now let me see. “I don”t usually think in terms of surrender. But maybe that is what it is. I try to work toward the larger goal as a series of smaller goals. As long as they are connected by causal connections, persistence will ensure success.” and then I quoted somebody, “It is good to have an end to journey toward; but it is the journey that matters in the end”. I think that’’s the crux of it. Not yet old enough to lose memory :))
