  • Hey Jerome, where u vanished to dear? How have u been? Long time no see? U too abandoned rediff?

  • Hi Jerome…. How are you and how is life?? Hope everything is fine… Though i dont write anything now, I miss everything in iland. I miss all my friends here… I just hope that someday I start writing…. Keep smiling:):)

  • Hi J, How r u? wrote something on wome’s day, do take some time to read it. Hope all is well at ur end. Take care n stay happy

  • Hi Jerome,

Thanks for going through my post and for your discerning views. Yes, one is free to spend one’s money. But we’re all connected with each other. The same life current flows over all living beings. To me, it seems unethical to spend your spare money of Rs.2-1/2 crore on a ring when other persons are dying of hunger and the money can be utilized better in a social cause. However, it all depends on how you look at things ….

  • Yeah dear..old posts lost…trying to get them back..contacting those admin ppl almost on daily basis..lol
    u take care

  • Hi Jerome, I’ve not been able to post my comments on your post as they say, the characters are not matching. Indeed, it is a very thought provoking writeup reg. arguments. I agree with you that two people can have absolutely different views, argue amicablly and co-exist. When you have different views than mine on a particular subject, it just means that your inputs are different; you are not looking at the subject from my angle — and that’s all right.

and now the poem, come on never say it was bad, at least to keep my good humour say it is so so, well for last many days i thought i am losing track of human journey, thought for a real man. but tell me whether you liked it or not..

  • ka

thank you. yes, i would have exactly what you said about the post. i wish i could have dispensed with the wheel mark and be conscious that life could be better than our living. it could be different than we could suggest. i wished to make a few ammendments after your thought and know that was not enough.

    really life is not easy

Jerome, it is like a relatively big disc behind my head - so a slight peripheral vision ensures we see it. You can try it with a pillow or something. I meant it seriously :) but of course, I don’t expect anybody to take it seriously. You don’t have to apologize for that :) I don’t expect people to take me on faith, nor do I take anybody on faith. I may vouch for somebody’s honesty. But the bottomline, for me, is if there is no proof there is no point going too far building theories, and one has all the more reason to be skeptical. I also didn’t have anybody else tell me there was disc behind my head. So that’s that :) But all the same, I believe, this happened to me.

Don’t be heart broken! wish i was a professinal writer! But if you managed to laugh …then mission accomplished for me….. coz at least my last statement was meant to drag smiles! And this story was a challenge by my department friends..they gave me the heading and i wrote the story based on habits and behaviour of people of my department…. so that way i just stated facts ….love can have humor????

    Well written blog….

  • RUDRA

i had been to a bonda village in koraput of orissa, the abject existence and the meaninglessness of human movement there overpowered the tender emotions. well i just rewrote the diction and tried to make it a little less dark, if possible have a look.

  • Think Tank

Ok.. As such that was addressed to Sarath :) He had said that so far no one had criticized the parents, on your blog, so I said I had called the parents psychologically ill and recommended psychiatrist treatment for them, so its not that no one criticized the parents. And then said I didn’t see criticism of parents as the best sign of honesty. I thought self-criticism is the best sign of honesty. So this was my opinion on his opinion….

And I also said that criticizing parents in this case doesn’t serve any purpose, but if we support the victim and try give some suggestions for her to cope up with the hard time, it would help her and many more children like her. This was the reason why I thought many people didn’t criticize parents openly.

For your clear question if what she did was right or not – it was not wrong. She had to stand up for her rights and she did in a way which situation demanded… So its alright..

  • Think Tank

As such a gentle change may be on her way – its not that the new person who comes in her life would also be negative – there is a great chance that he would be a nice and understanding person and everything would become very all right. This is what I think…

    Regards,
    Rahul

  • Think Tank

Yes, she did very right by standing up against the exploitation. What should she do next is a very difficult question. Since I can only think, I think she should be prepared for what ever comes next. All the tough things that happen to us in our life happen with a reason – difficult times are not to break us but to make us strong and immune to such hurts. She should focus on her career and should be ready to even go solo if the need arises. But at the same time she should not be harsh on her parents and till they are nonviolent she should respect them. We don’t respect others for what they are – but we respect them for what we are. If she remains financially independent, I think she can lead a very righteous and unexploited life. She can even think about joining some extra courses to build her career, she is on her own and she has to be ready for even worse.

Ya Jerome that was a less dramatic and drastic step. A small one too, but the best part is that it worked. Totally agree with you. But though it seemed to be a small step, it wasnt. Slapping your parents is not a small thing. Needs lot of guts and a strong reason for that. The girl\’s threshhold limit had reached to such an extent that she had to take this step. But as I said, it liberated her. That was the best part..

  • Bo

    hi, jerome
    thanks for your comments.
to answer your question in regard to my post, i guess we fell in love with each other at the wrong time and wrong place. i wasn’t ready when he wanted to marry me, but it was too late when i was ready to marry him. besides i am not indian…everything about me was just too much for him at the end. he was scared to fight the rest of world for me, i think.

  • Preethi Nair

Want to read something from you…… Please…..

  • Sarath Chandra

Iland is not the only way we can meet, Jerome :) We will have cross-platform (blogging platform) interactions or by email.

Thanks for asking me not to go :) it, of course, feels good. But it was not an easy decision to take, and I felt sad too.

Also I don’t post (what I think of as) chaff :) if it is that, I’d rather not post, than post it here at rediffiland :)

    Will keep in touch.

Yes, Jerome; I meant the agreements are in support of the arrogance of mankind. I do agree with you that science and technology contributed very positively to mankind. I don’t need a proof, and I think neither do you :) I don’t think the operative word was “every”; even saying “most” problems and defending it in any open forum scares me, from past experiences. As for the scriptures thing, that is one thing I really find tough. Many of those guys who say this, I get along with. I keep pointing out science is about process; you don’t have to take anything on faith. No scientist “says” anything like Krishna or any scripture. He demonstrates, derives, shows etc. Even those guys use scientific proofs to validate an “interpretation” of any scripture. I want to say it is their attitude of taking something on faith that results in us being fooled. But it is usually a waste of time, causes unpleasantness, and is generally difficult for me :)

    Hi
Yeah, there are some die hards who never want to give up! Like u said in ur blog…for the sake of arguing or because simply they refuse to see reason..woh kahete hain na ‘ murgi ki ek taang’..
Have a nice weekend! Take care

  • rajeshkumar rai

yes ..the americans and the russians fought on international space station……. i gave it my twist with adding indian drama…..most of the things are facts! and i can’t stop myself from making the story funny and foolish!

  • soloman williams

Dear jerome, i appreciate whatever you wrote above my attacking comment in nikhats post.lolz, yes, i was agitated, coz that post was not necessary at all, we all write political posts, but never in this manner, we criticize the govt, not the people……….and her “hate lab” theory is all wrong, morever, my friend, she objected in lines like sanghe shakti, which means unity is strength. However, i do feel that, that such hatred must not be spread in the iland!I hope and wish you understand my lines too!

  • Nikhat Fatima

Hey thanks a ton. U said it so well. I hope the others get the point too. Have a nice day!

  • Nikhat Fatima

Hi Jerome..thanks for your comments. Did you read the other ‘attacking’comments? Why do people think I am attacking the entire Hindu community? Strange yaar. Have a nice day!!

  • Preethi Nair

There is something for you in my iland.. Please visit… Hope you like it…

  • Karthik Dexter

woah, that was a neat and witty comment.. :)

  • Virtual Reality

Thanks Jerome for the message. Yes I know it is not non-nonsensical. The title was just a futile effort on my part to exercise down-to-earthness. Re. VR

  • Sarath Chandra

You don’t have to respond to my comments, Jerome :) unless there is something to respond to. Things can get busy. I will keep visiting your page, as long as I enjoy it, whether you respond or not :)

  • Sarath Chandra

I will wait for the couple of days to end :)

  • Think Tank

  • Virtual Reality

Hi Jerome, Thanks for your comment to my post ‘What is true love?’. I have replied to you in the comments section of the post. Re. VR

  • Buddha

Thanks Jerome for the comment and glad you liked it….:)

  • Think Tank

Specially, see it from the eyes of a farmer who maintains an animal in his family. And for the opinion on religious matters, it would be good if you can ignore where I went extreme…

  • Think Tank

You can check the reply… Sorry in case you won’t like it, but if you pick up the points from the arguments and try to understand what the other person is trying to say instead of arguing or attempting to counter and nothing but counter, you would get the points… Specially see the second last one in the comment box….
