Building a healthy environment at home

Kids are fast learners. They are good at emulating and learn a lot of you. Hence it is essential that you build a healthy environment for kids at home itself. A healthy and a happy environment can work a great deal for kids.

A 'healthy environment' precisely means sharing quality time with your kids, making the home environment happy and calm. Avoid shouting and screaming while your kids are around. Engage your kids into a lot of creative activities. As a parent, you can start painting a canvas and see how your child will follow you. He or she might ask you for a brush and show willingness to paint. Let his creative juices spill around and make him feel free and happy to do that.

Children love stories. Talk to child as if narrating a tale and make sure to teach a moral lesson at the end of the stories. Physical cleanliness is important as well. Maintain proper hygienic conditions so that your child is not prone to illness. Timely change of diapers, cutting nails, cleaning hands and feet after every four to five hours is essential.

Do not leave your child alone for too long. There is a lot of research that shows people who are left alone in their childhood suffer serious personality disorders. Hence building a healthy environment at home is very essential.

As a parent, you can also involve your family members in inculcating good values in your children. Typically, grandmothers are best at doing that. Teach your kid to respect each and every family member including your servant or maid as well.

Since kids spent most of the time at home, there is maximum learning that happens here. Suitable and favorable home environment can go a long way to teach your kids good manners and behavior.
