The Bucket List
Hello Amigos, hope you”re all doing great as usual. These days I”m barely receiving 4-5 alerts a day compared to 45-50 alerts earlier, so next time you do not see my comments please do feel free to let me know… :-))
It”s quite long since I scribbled something and yesterday I got a mail from a friend reminding me that I haven”t been on iland for over a month now and so I”m back here, not exactly with a post but just a wish-list this time…
Some days back I was watching a movie called “Dasvidaniya” and this movie made me realize that we all take life for granted just like several other things in life. All of us have some little and big wishes in life, some which can be fulfilled while others which cannot be.
This movie provoked me to build two lists of my wishes; one which I think is realistic for me to fulfill and the other which I feel will always remain a reverie. Sharing the latter with you all, who knows KAL HO NA HO. Please do share your wish-lists with me sometime. :-))
My Wish-list
- I wish I could write some really complex poems like my fellow ilanders do, but is anyone out there, ready to read and most of all understand my poems?
- I wish I could go Bungee Jumping and scuba diving, but I”ve got Acrophobia
- I wish I could Meet-up with all my primary school classmates and of course preema (my LKG crush) and spend time with them relishing my scary childhood days, But undeniably they”ll need to get a nod from their GF/BF, husband/wife now.
- I wish I could own a forest someday where I could safeguard and preserve all the animals and nature I love. (Just like John Abraham did!)
- I wish I could direct children into a brighter opportunity, who are perplexed about their future, but I”m lost myself.
- I wish I could go back by some years and save the girl in my college who is no more due to lack of medical attention and financial affordability of her family, but it is too late now.
- I wish I could do something about all the Sexual discrimination, molestation and female feticide going on in our country but who am I at the end of the day? Just another somebody? Or perhaps a nobody…

Hey Dex, why just 99 in maths? Ab wishlist hai toh 1000 toh aim karna chahiye tha ;);) Dasvedaniya was a really good movie. It had a charm of its own. I liked the simplicity and humility of the protagonist. Somehow low budget films are really good and so close to real life. I felt like making my own list too. Yours was pretty decent and sweet. Nice!

how did i miss this post. But read it without wasting time and there again it is a great post, right from the starting to your numerous wish list has been beautifully written. Difficult to understand you the first few wishes were jovial and shows a carefree side of yours but slowly it descended to a very serious note portraying you as a very serious and thoughtful person. Never mind you seem to be a good human being and know that you will certainly achieve a lot, not soon but very soon. the 5th and 6th were awesome

dear kd, nice to see you after long time..btw..i am also visiting iland after long time..and yes..alerts are not there..and for ur wish list….let me be frank..who is deciding you are somebody or nobody?…its u ..right?..then why dont decide that you are a somebody who can achieve all ur wish list?..sorry if i seem like a motivational writer..but i am from this school of thought..IF U MISS UR AIM DOESNOT MATTER..BUT WHY AIMING FOR A LESSER AIM..also read and comment on my latest posts..

Hey nice wishes..i cant say anything abt me right now as i have to pondera lot for the same…may be life is running too fast that we dont get the time to think abt ourselves n these small small wishes which will make us happy..anyway nice post…why dont u mark it as tagged n force other ppl to think abt themselves for a minute or two…

Rediff alerts are not working properly, Karthik …..I”ve been receiving only three-four alerts instead of usual 15-20. It means messages reg. my new post ”Pending Punishment” have also not been received by my friends ………As for my wishes, I want to re-live my whole bygone days, particularly the school and college days differently, sing and speak on stage (which I could never do due to stage fright) ……and I wish that old melody times in Hindi cinema featuring Raj Kapoor, Dilip Kumar, Nargis, Nutan, Madhu Bala, Meena Kumari, Waheeda Rehman, Suchitra Sen etc. etc. should come back …….and my greatest wish is that India should again become one country and that there should no division in society on the basis of caste and religion ……obviously all these belong to the category ”will always remain a reverie”.
I wish all ur wishes excluding last two come true.
I feel sorry coz its too late for ur second last wish. I know how it feels when it is too late, I have a similar experience.

Kartik do write a more frequently as you know if not polish our skills they may tend to blunt. Hope you may get enough power and money to fulfill all your wish list. Keep going….

kuch aadhi adhuri khwahishein bhi zindagi kar detin hain poori
chahiye kuch himmat kuch bharosa aur thodi si kismat …
phir anjaane ki khuda namumkin si khwahishein bhi kar deta hai poori

i hope ki aapki sare wishes ek din pura ho jaye and aapka jo 7th wish hai na vo mein dil se chahthi hoon ki pura ho jaye because i too like forests but i dont like animals there because they will scare me.

i think you will achieve most of things on your wish list. but please don”t try to write a complex poem. life is too complex already, i always believe the simple elegant is the best, whether to do with poem or life.

As u said,some of ur wishes can be fulfilled,n some ,i gues cantur wish list is pretty intrstin,n abt ur poems,kyu nahi padenge yaar,ek bar likh toh sahi pata chalega…..n hope,ur frnd gets sum tym to write sumthng….$

Krthik such a sensitive wish list! Few wishes brought smile to my face and few made my eyes moist About that 99/100 in maths well. Even I had that on my wish list. N in FYJC I got so kicked up by this wish, that I actually scored 99/100! (after that I returned to my usual scores
