SAVE WATER - A few tips ….

USE WISELY, YOU CAN SAVE WATER, A PRECIOUS NATURE GIFT

K. R. SINGHAL

There are number of ways, we can save water – a precious nature gift. Some of the tips to conserve water are mentioned below:

1. There are a number of ways to save water, and they all start with us.
2. When washing dishes by hand, don’t let the water run while rinsing. Fill one sink with wash water and the other with rinse water.
3. Water your lawn and garden in the morning or evening when temperatures are cooler to minimize evaporation.
4. Turn off the water while brushing your teeth and save 25 gallons a month.
5. If your toilet flapper doesn’t close after flushing, replace it.
6. Share water conservation tips with friends and neighbors.
7. One more way to get eight glasses of water a day is to re-use the water left over from cooked or steamed foods to start a scrumptious and nutritious soup.
8. Turn off the water while you wash your hair to save up to 150 gallons a month.
9. Wash your pets outdoors in an area of your lawn that needs water.
10. When washing dishes by hand, fill the sink basin or a large container and rinse when all of the dishes have been soaped and scrubbed.
11. Turn off the water while you shave and save up to 300 gallons a month.
12. When you give your pet fresh water, don’t throw the old water down the drain. Use it to water your trees or shrubs.
13. To save water and time, consider washing your face or brushing your teeth while in the shower.
14. While staying in a hotel or even at home, consider reusing your towels.
15. Have your plumber re-route your gray water to trees and gardens rather than letting it run into the sewer line. Check with your city codes, and if it isn’t allowed in your area, start a movement to get that changed.
16. When you are washing your hands, don’t let the water run while you lather.
17. Carry out ‘internal water audit’ of your water use habits and improve your habits to save water on the basis its findings and outcome.

Remember – “There are a number of ways to save water, and they all start with us.”

Have a nice day!

With best wishes,

Keshav Ram Singhal

PLEASE REMEMBER
Every drop of water counts. Save water, save money.

WE NEED TO IMPROVE OUR COMMUNICATION SKILLS …

Communication

The purpose of communication differs according to a situation. One should understand that every act of communication has an intention. Without an intention, one can not communicate. The intention of communication can be fulfilled in a better way if we learn the art of communication effectively.

Why we communicate? There are several reasons including the following:

-          To provide any information,

-          To receive any information,

-          To ask someone to get some job done,

-          To express views on any subjects,

-          To express concern,

-          To express feelings,

-          To build relationships etc.

Communication may be of two types – (i) Verbal communication, and (ii) Non-verbal communication.

Verbal communication can be done with the use of a language or a mixture of languages (such as Hindi, English or Hindi and English) to convey a particular message.

Non-verbal communication is done through other means (such as use of colours, pictures, body language, facial expressions etc.). To convey danger signal, we generally use red colour. Verbal communication is more important in life.

At the moment, you are reading this article. Reading and writing are both forms of communication. So are speaking and listening. In fact, we spend doing at least one of the four things, reading, writing, speaking or listening. The ability to do them is absolutely critical to our effectiveness.

The ability to use systematic language to share views, ideas, thoughts and feelings are something peculiar to human beings. Communication is the most important skill in life.

So, it is necessary to improve our communication skills and techniques.

Have a nice day!

With best wishes,

Keshav

Make Your Communication Better

BETTER COMMUNICATION

Following are some tips to improve your communication:

1.       You should be clear about objectives of your communication. Think ‘what you want to communicate’ before you make your communication.

4.       Create an atmosphere for free and frank communication.

5.       Always use simple language while communicating, so that listener may be able to understand your communication.

6.       Ask for feedback from your listener, so that he may have chance to say about any confusions in your communication.

7.       Make your communication relevant and interesting to the listener.  If are able to create suspense in your communication, then the listener may apply more concentration in listening your communication.

Setting Proper Goals

Be a Winner - 2

Setting Proper Goals

Setting proper goals according to strengths and abilities is a major step towards success. There may be two kinds of goals when we set goals for our life-

(i) Long term goals, and

(ii) Short term goals.

A boy or girl may aim to become an engineer while studying in middle class and this may be termed as long – term goal, as it takes years to fulfill. Qualify the competitive examination to be held in near future may be turned as a short – term goal for a candidate.

While setting the goals one should see the following points –

-          Strengths and Abilities (including knowledge and skills),

-          Weaknesses,

-          Resources, and

-          Opportunities.

One should set proper goals that are achievable. It is improper for a commerce student to set his goal to become a scientist. The person should be more practical and reasonable while setting goals.

When we wish to have success, we should understand that success is the progressive realization of a worthy goal. Goals are important, because they orovide us a sense of direction towards success to achieve success , one should start and continue progressive realization journey.

When a person achieves one goal, he can set another goal to achieve.

So, be clear about setting your proper goals!

Have a nice day!
