What is success?
When a person achieves any of his goal(s), it is said that he has attained or achieved success. Generally, success is not an accident. It is the result of systematic doing or completing any task. Edwin C. Blis says, “Success doesn’t mean the absence of failures; it means the attainment of ultimate objectives. It means winning the war, not every battle.”
We say achievement of personal goal(s) as success, and then we must be clear that the meaning of success is different to different people. To one person success may mean becoming rich. To other, it may be recognition, good health, a good family, and happiness, good friendship, passing an examination, peace of mind or any other achievement.
Success is said to be subjective because success means different thing to different people. For a student, success may be passing an examination, but for other student, it may be securing merit position. For a politician, it may be winning an election and being in power.
So, be clear what success mean to you!

A MORAL STORY

A Junior School teacher noticed some of her students carrying hatred and fighting with each other. She wanted to teach all a lesson and told her students to bring some potatoes in a plastic bag to school. “Don’t think it’s for preparing chips just bring”, she told.
Each potato will be given the name of the person whom that child hates. Some decided to bring a sack of potatoes. Like this the number of potatoes would be equal to the number of persons they hate. On the decided day the children brought their potatoes well addressed as instructed. Some had two, some had three and some had even five potatoes. ..
The teacher said they have to carry these potatoes with them everywhere they go for a week. As the days passed the children started to complain about the spoilt smell that started emanating from these potatoes. ..
Also those who had many potatoes complained that it was very heavy to carry them all around. The children got rid of this assignment after a week when it got over.
The teacher asked, “How did you feel in this one week?” The children discussed their problems about the smell and weight. Then the teacher said, “This situation is very similar to what you carry in your heart when you don’t like some people. This hatred makes your heart unhealthy. That may be also a major reason for rising heart attacks and you carry that hatred in your heart everywhere you go.
If you cannot bear the smell of spoilt potatoes for a week, imagine the impact of this hatred that you carry throughout your life, on your heart?” Hatred is a burden; it ruthlessly crushes the one who carries it deep inside, not realizing he’s sown a poisonous seed within his own heart. Wipe it before it wipes you!

People from cross sections of society joined hands to celebrate the festival of colours in Goa state. People, especially children and the youth, were throwing colours at one another and enjoying the Holi festival. The streets all over the Goa state were turned colourful by the colours of GULAL as thousands of people participated in the Holi celebrations in the state.
The Holi revelers participated in the traditional dances, such as Romtamel, Ghodemodni etc. The exhibition of the traditional dances would continue to be held all over the state for the next fifteen days. Śhigmo in Konkani language is a spring feastival celebrated in Goa. One of the prominent festivals of the Hindu community in Goa, and is an alternative name for the Indian festival of Holi. Śhigmo is also known as Śiśirotsava.
