I am Curious!

Yesterday, I came across this news item :

US teen lives 118 days without heart

It set me on a train of thoughts, wondering how that girl would have been affected in terms of so many phrases that we tend to use on daily basis. On one hand, I reasoned out that these are just figurative and are not supposed to be taken literally. But then, on the other hand, can anyone say for sure?

Simple terms or phrases like :

  • heart yearning for something or someone
  • feeling heartbroken when someone lets you down
  • doing something wholeheartedly or to your heart’s content
  • love sees with the heart and not with the eyes
  • take a load off your heart
  • being heartless or cruel

and many more…….

I am curious to know what are your thoughts on this !
