THINKING OF BLOGGING AGAIN

Everything has changed on rediff blog. I do not like the homepage where my homepage  picture is absent and the string of passers-by are not flashed. I can no longer go to the box that told me who has wanted to be friends with me and who had left a comment on one of my blogs. The avatar photo is no longer there either. I can no longer click on the icons on my guest page and land on the pages of those who comment. Why, I can’t even find my mail page quickly enough.

All that was friendly and warm and interesting has been taken off. No wonder I visited here a few times and decided not to restart the connection.
It is like re learning the ropes again. And change is never a happy process.
But I guess this had to happen with all the spam that was going around and the comments being deleted by some kind of virus.
It’s been what? a year now? wonder how many of the old guard still haunt the portals of rediff and how many are actively blogging. Are there still debates and wars or has this site become one of those  private diary page entry type of blogsites?
Let me find out.

  • You write something and it vanishes. You cannot cut paste or copy from here to a word to preserve what you have written. I am not sure how to use this blogsite anymore. They have ruined it.

  • Lissome Didi,
    Welcome back, start ASAP.
    regards,
    PI.

  • I didnt know I had to approve comments. Found all your comments in the spam bag. Imagine!

    Hugsssssss guys.

But I am glad that this approval thing is in place. Otherwise the schizos and paranoid idiots would be on the prowl with their imaginary woes.

Like Hari said they have done a me too and lost the uniqueness.

    Love you all… LL

  • kk

you are great writer , you should continue writing , happy blogging..

  • Ok, LL, let’s start again. Haven’t been to rediff in ages. It’s not user-friendly anymore :( BTW where are the lil one’s photos u promised to send???? Jolly

  • The new rediff blog has been indeed a great disappointment and lacks the unique, friendly features of the earsthile Iland. Many of my old friends and favourites have left - all and all are gone the old familar faces. I’d written two blogs about the missing features of the Iland (Dec.18′09 and Jan.15′10, but continued to write here. ……Pl. do come back, Lissomeji. You’ve been the most cherished writer and I miss your comprehensive posts very much ….shayad aapke aane se bahar phir se laut aye …welcome back …and do read some of my recent posts and offer your enlightened views.

  • what a coincidence? I visited my page almost after a year and felt like writing again. Nothing much keyed but at least made a start. I think i will come back :) cheers, UC

  • Aruni

same happening with me, i did not fine my pages , where is all comments and gustbooks

  • Hey, finally!!!!:-) You’re right. Nothing’s the same anymore. But I’ve been sticking around here out of sheer laziness. Too much of an effort to look for another blogging space. Hope you’ll start blogging here again soon.

  • Thanks God, Lissome ji, you’re here again …..we all miss the unique features of the old Rediff iland. In trying to become life other social networking sites, Rediff has lost its uniqueness. Besides, the loss of friendly features, gb entries as well as the comments on posts don’t now show the dates. I’ve repeatedly requested Rediff to to revert, but …..yet I’m stuck here, though most of my old friends have gone ….Hoping to see more of your comprehensive writeups soon, Lissome ji ….wish you all the best.

  • Would be a pleasure to be able to read your thoughts again,(and disagree with them too :) ) so please do restart the connection.
And ma’am.. “re learning the ropes again”??? take a relook at the “again”.

  • what a pleasant surprise! guess all is well with you! some of us are still around, though we do miss the old format for the very same reasons that you have mentioned. good to see you again!

  • At least a few of us are still here. I do miss old ‘warm and friendly’ iland!
