Why?

After visits in and around the Gandhinagar constituency, my list of “Why?” keeps increasing every day…
- Why is there no PHC in Jalund village?
- Why is there no ST service in Moti Adraj?
 - Why are there  no toilets in Borij?
 - Why has a tank in Ghatlodia - that is said to have cost Rs. 60 lakhs- never had a drop of water?
 - Why are there only 32 polling booths for 2 lakh people in Juhapura?
 - Why are there no gutters in Borisana?
 - Why is NREGA not applicable in Sonawada?
- Why do villagers in Gokulpura have to walk a 15 km circuitous route when a 3 km road could ease their transport problems?

Why?
It would be too simple to answer all these questions with “Its because the local authorities are inefficient”. Of course, there is a certain level of inefficiency that is only too obvious to those who talk to villagers around Gandhinagar. But the answer to these questions goes beyond issues of the local authorites being inefficient, to asystem that is inherently flawed. A system that once aware of such inefficiency can choose not to address them!

What is worse is how often the same questions are repeated across villages and talukas. Questions that have been around for years and have still not been answered. Questions that have led all those who ask them to believe that the answers will never come. Questions that reiterate the fact that in Indian politics today, the same mistakes are being repeated again and again. And again.

As I talk to more people and add to my list of “Why this?” and “Why that?”, I become more certain in the need for a new kind of leadership.
A leadership that, if nothing else, will bring back a belief that asking questions can lead to getting answers. A leadership that believes in honing its ideas based on what its people most need. A leadership therefore that revels in taking new risks and making new mistakes.

If there is no clean water in Gandhinagar and sanitary conditions are bad and there are other problems surely not only Congress is at fault as it is the ruling party but then whatever happened to Narendra Modi who is the leader of Gujarat ? Why those posting complaints are questioning him ? If Congress couldn”t resolve problems in Gujarat what stopped the leader of Gujarat of changing things.

Exactly this is what is needed. We need these kind of personalities who are courageous to ask questions. Then only solutions will come. People like you should come to the forefront in order to take India to the front without discriminating between villagers and city dwellers. You be with the people of Gandhinagar and be one among them and that will show up in the results. Once you are elected then also you should remain to be one among them.

    Madam,

Your issues are justified, but not only in Gujrat, you would find in whole world specially poverty areas. This will not be solved mere by a day or two, look sixty years back where were were.

first thing if you really want to get some ppositive opinion..keep this moderater thing off..
all those question you raise are no doubt debatable but its nothing which you can change in five or ten year …
all those will remain in globe even after say 20 year down the line and its not about ghandinagar or gujrat its a story of whole india ..i live delhi and you find a lot of place where people still use open space of sanitation …
on every street of delhi(india including ghandinagar) you can see the system failure …
india need a generation change not a system change …

what ever the question you raise (i hope to urself ) is secondery in my opinion (which could be wrong in opinion )there are lots of primary issue ..

these questions are not something by which you can get votes coz are a set parameter of Questions every candidate ask and lest unfulfill to be raised by another candidate after 5 year.
    in the end .
There is no WHY ..only HOW

Sure, interesting points and frankly which have been cited by several others. Let’’s face it, most of the speeches revolve around this.

Key thing is - what are you gonna do about it and how are you gonna go about resolving this. And for Christ’’s sake, please do have a plan (I really hope you do) - it’’s irritating to hear “we”ll work together” and “with your help, we”ll lick it” kinda stuff.

    Dear Mallikaben,
I request you to visit each and every Govt. school in Gandhinagar city. The toilets are stinking and hardly get cleaned. Drinkin water’’s quality is questionable? Why so?
I also request you to travel in auto-rikhsaws under a disguise and see for yourself how they loot the passengers….why no one is using the meters?
Why there is no inter-sector bus or train in Gandhinagar when the population is increasing day by day?
