Hi Arun … software, cartoons and music … wow!!! … and still only 24. Been trawling thru GBs of mutual frns … and I find that you are a jazz fan … me too … as for my job, I work from home (after a bad leg injury which reduced mobility) … data analysis programs, report generation, modelling (computer) etc in mkt research is what I do to defray living expenses … mostly I read books I always meant to read and listen to music I always wanted to listen to and poke my (curious) nose into international politics … and write, write, write … hehehe … making up for a lifetime wasted on masti.

Yeah, I guess Dylan wouldn’t be the electric stage presence he once was … for one thing, those passionate spaced-out crowds are long gone … he does love experimenting, doesn’t he? … you remember when he ditched his acoustic guitar for an electric one, how everyone freaked? … as for me, if Dylan’s songs were available as singles (like in MP3) there would only be a few I would actually buy … never liked his born-again songs … so, what kind of job are you in, Arun?

  4. Turbo Jet says

Hi Arun … I think I suggested that one could make the guy real mad at you or something, so that he’d ’see red’ … your ‘chillies’ also is a great suggestion … the job was in media modelling for an ad company, involving math and stuff … and yeah, it was my first job.

Dylan is great, a true messiah of music, tho he hated being identified with the anti-war movement in the US … the sixties were a watershed, weren’t they? … so many fab singers and bands … and Dylan is still cutting new albums … amazing

Ha, ha, ha, only 24, great! What IS older, everything is relative, isn’t it???
Wel , i have 2 times your age + 11%= ? So all those names were there already when I had your age and less. And I tell you a secret, I have since a couple of months a friend in N.D., India (read my blog ‘I have a friend in D’) and he has 1,5 x your age + 1=? , so what is age? Man’s heart and mind is the most important, yes o.k, the eyes want also something………………but that seems to be allright. ( see my photo at my post ‘Weather for a barbecue’) He’s coming to The Netherlands next month…………….and we are hopeless in love………
Lateron we talk further about music. To hear the last CD of Neil Diamond, named 12 songs, see my blog under ‘Love is a gift’ ……with the link to internet……….
have a nice day……from elisabeth, The Netherlands , 9.55 AM, local time

    Hey Arun,
Thanks for your reply in my guestbook.
I like to be friends, of course…………….I never was on a life-concert of Bob Dylan…………….just like his music and also the other names you call………….. At this moment I enjoy the last CD of Neil Diamond and music of Leonard Cohen, both older man nowadays, but still a fantastic voice and performence in their voice………………..You know them???
All those names from the sixties and seventies……….it still is good…
Are you also some older, like me??

Thanks :). I write whenever the fancy siezes me…and when something frustrating or amusing happens…or when I have nothing to say.

I hope you find time pretty soon for one of your lovely poems.

    Cheers, Jaya.

  20. Jayalakshmi Srinivasan says

Oh, that’s okay, Arun…I understand. I’m not a genius at programming, and I’m having a pretty hard time keeping up with my team leader and trying to get him to listen to my suggestions. I didn’t know student projects could be so difficult to handle!

  21. bronzegoddess bright says

  26. Jayalakshmi Srinivasan says

Oh well…with all the encouragement, maybe I will try poetry sometime :). So you’re in software too. Is it out of interest or would you rather be doing something else? By the way, do you know of any website that has clear examples of data flow diagrams and ER models? I need to know about the levels of DFDs and I don’t have a textbook. This is for my Java project.

    Thanks, Jaya.

  27. Jayalakshmi Srinivasan says

Hey Arun…great race at Silverstone today. Not much in terms of action, but I simply loved the Ferrari strategy. How about you, I suppose you would have wanted one of the Brits to win? Are you watching Wimbledon?

    Cheers, Jaya.

  29. Jayalakshmi Srinivasan says

And yes, I am backing Federer. But I wouldn’t really be averse to a surprise winner, say an underdog.

  30. Jayalakshmi Srinivasan says

Hi…thanks a lot. I almost always feel that I’m conveying absolutely nothing through my posts, it’s just a way of unburdening myself and talking about things I like. There are so many people on iLand and they all have such amazing things to say, and beautiful ways of expressing them.

    Cheers, Jaya.

  31. Jayalakshmi Srinivasan says

Hi, think we’ll ever have a Grand Prix of India? I think the deadline is far too close for the formalities to be completed in time.

  32. Rinky Bansal says

oh…tht cud tk a-bit of your time…anyways, would definitely await them!!!

  33. Rinky Bansal says

You seem to be much a dreamer:-) alike me (though I miss so many talents)….m just a scrawler mastering nothing…hey, do upload some of your sketches…m a high-hard fan of pencil sketches…and guitar too, infact I would be commencing my guitar classes (to learn not teach :D)in recent. Great to know you

  34. Rinky Bansal says

painting..yea…been long since evn held a brush, but that’s somethin I really loved doing…I do have some of my paintings, but at home…definitely would upload them on iland on my next vist back home:-)…seems caricature is your line of interest?

  35. Jayalakshmi Srinivasan says

Well yes…if you’re a Honda fan I understand your predicament. Their season has been awful. I hear they’re planning to concentrate on 2008 now; they were much stronger last year, and maybe there will be some sort of mid-season turnaround…you never know! I arrived late on the scene :(, started watching F1 only in 2001, and my loyalties have always been with Ferrari and Michael. Now it’s Massa, because I’ve come to believe Kimi is an overhyped, underperforming ‘potential champion’.

  36. Rinky Bansal says

Yea…TOI does have an e-paper also (online available newspaper) …but am not sure of the site…you’d have to do a-bit of google for that:-). Also, to read the complete paper, you might be reqd to get urslf registered. Guess its evn a free registeration

  37. Rinky Bansal says
