sharing some more soup..

Dear e.f,

Its been long time i am away from iland..and now seeing this new avatar of my iland. Its really refreshing but i guess i still miss the earlier avatar of iland for various reasons. Mainly because i could see many visiting the iland and i could see many of their blogs in the front page itself.

Anyways the year 2009 is just passing by..only one day away. I was just analysing the gone by year. Its really a breakthrough year for me as my business trips took me various parts of the world and i learnt a lot of things. Even though there were many ups and downs in the business i guess for last ten years this was the year very fulfilling and interesting.

Also the last month will be more known to movies..specially avatar. A never before experience and i guess it has set a stage for a lot of new technological movies which will surprise all of us in coming years. In any case present avatar is around 40 yrs ahead of time and i dont see anyone breaking that path except James cameroon himself. Also the hindi movies came in last month like paa, 3 idiots and rocket singh were quite amazing. I loved all of them.

The reason i chose to write today was to share two more chicken stories with all of you guys n gals. But i guess due to lack of time i may be able to share it one only. Lets see. In that case i will share the other tomorrow in edit section. Enjoy and share the chicken soup.

THE COOKIE THIEF
A woman was waiting at an airport one night,
With several long hours before her flight.
She hunted for a book in the airport shop,
Bought a bag of cookies and found a place to drop.

She was engrossed in her book, but happened to see,
That the man beside her, as bold as he could be,
Grabbed a cookie or two from the bag between,
Which she tried to ignore, to avoid a scene.

She read, munched cookies, and watched the clock,
As the sutsy “cookie thief” diminished her stock.
She was getting more irritated as the minutes ticked by,
Thinking, “If i was not so nice,I ‘d blacken his eye!”

With each cookie she took,he took one too.
When only one was left, she wondered what he ‘d do.
With a smile on his face and a nervous laugh,
He took the last cookie and broke it in half.

He offered her half,as he ate the other.
She snatched it from him and thought,”Oh brother,
This guy has some nerve, and he is also rude,
Why, he did n’t even show any gratitude!”

She had never known when she had been so galled,
And sighed with relief when her flight was called.
She gathered her belongings and headed for the gate,
Refusing to look back at the “thieving ingrate.”

She boarded the plane and sank in her seat,
Then sought her book, which was almost complete.
As she reached in her baggage, she gasped with surprise.
There was her bag of cookies in front of her eyes!

“If mine are here,” she moaned with despair,
” Then the others were his and he tried to share!”
Too late to apologise, she realised with grief,
That she was the rude one, the ingrate, the thief!

                                                                              Valerie Cox
Guys, running out of time..do read the other one also tomorrow which i will add with this.
I wish a very rocking and happening new year to all of you gals and guys. You guys are amazing..love you all.

Sharing…chicken soup!!..

Dear e.f.,

Hope all of you are doing great. I am back to africa since last two weeks, this time to mwanza, tanzania..lot more to write about the place and the country….will do it later. Schedules are very tight as always, that is the single most reason i am neither able to read and comment on my fav. writers blogs nor posting the new ones.

There is some special reason i chose to write this post..or you can say i did not wanted to miss that opportunity. You must be wondering at the title..some of you who have already tasted the chicken soup for soul series..must have loved it i guess..and those of my pure veg. blogging friends will skip this article, i guess, because of the title itself!..hey guys,..if you have read upto here..just hang on!!..I have something special to share with all of you guys n gals.

Well not taking much of your time..I am sharing two lil stories from A 3rd serving of chicken soup for soul ( By Jack canfield and Mark victor hansen). The stories are about adopted child and its on parenting series. Adopting a child..a subject i am always very excited about and i am very much willing to get one adopted child in my life time. Well, its not easy to imagine what traumas and emotions..an adopted child goes through in its life. And i am always curious to see it from their point of view. And yesterday i read two lil stories in this series….and i must say..it has opened up some new dimensions towards my thinking. Here is the two lil stories.

LEGACY OF AN ADOPTED CHILD..

Once there were two women who never knew each other. One you do not remember, the other you call mother.

Two different lives shaped to make you one. One became your guiding star. The other became your sun.

The first one gave you life and the second taught you to live it.The first gave you a need for love, the second was there to give it.

One gave you the nationality, the other gave you a name. One gave you talent, the other gave you aim.

One gave you emotions, the other calmed your fears. One saw your first sweet smile, the other dried your tears.

One sought for a home that she could not provide, the other prayed for a child and her hope was not denied. And now you ask me through your tears, the age-old question, unanswered through the years.

Heredity or environment. Which are you a product of?….Neither, my darling. Neither. Just two different kinds of love.

                                                                                  ( Author Unknown )

WHAT IT MEANS TO BE ADOPTED….

Teacher Debbie Moon’s first-grades were discussing a picture of a family. One little boy in the picture had different colour hair than the other family members.

One child suggested that he was adopted, and a little girl named Jocelynn Jay  said, ” I know all about adoptions because I am adopted.”

“What does it mean to be adopted ?” asked another child.

” It means” said Jocelynn, ” that you grew in your mother’s heart instead of her tummy.”

                                                                                              George Dolan

Pls do share if you think you have something new to share on this subject..It will only help me and others to open up our minds n souls…

Love you guys n gals..keep commenting..I know my quota of commenting on many of ur blogs is pending..hoping to find more time soon and complete m\y quota of comments n pending posts..Love u again..keep commenting.

P.S.–the sharings above are not stories….but perhaps its too heavy and un-interesting to call it write up..so i called it..lil story.

Kudos to Ekta Kapoor….

Dear e.f.,

Hope all of you are doing great. Last few weeks missed lot of action ( i.e. reading and commenting on your blogs, posting blogs ) on blogging world. Its been long gap that i am continuously here in india for more than one month and i am enjoying every bit of it. In last few years i was missing india greatly eventhough i was visiting frequently for few days.

This time, i got lot of time to enjoy and to observe what makes this country different from entire world despite having thousands of problems. Well, apperantly this is the first observation what makes our country unique!!..We have lot of problems here in india..every step we take, we are presented ( yes, its truly a present!!) with lot of problems..and this gives us enough resistance power and know-how to deal with it..eventhough we may hate to do so..it automatically increases our efficiency and in the process makes us better human being and a better leader..and the beauty is this all happens without our knowledge. Its like we are groomed in an university even without our knowledge. This even is applicable to our education system. I am sure, most of you are aware that India is the country which is producing maximum no. of people with technical education and excellence. Reminds me the words of my african friend louis who once told me, why indians are better in education–According to him in india grooming in education starts from the KG class itself and they give lot of home work and exercises for grooming. Very true!!..The proof is the FIRST SEMESTER EXAM of my son Vishnu..who is only four years..( He does not know the meaning of exam but the funny thing is my wife smita is all worried and bears all the tension like she is facing a very big exam!!)..I saw many parents opposing this( even we thought like that at one point..)..but at the same time we must see the bigger picture also and must understand how it is preparing our children as a global citizen in the times to come.

When we are talking about problems in our country i just want to add one more observation which was from the top scientists around the world..The subject was..What made the normal life really normal and regular in mumbai after the shocking terror attack of 26/11..This is a big subject as far as scientists are looking at it..Originally all these kind of attacks are targetted to isolate the normal life and thus weaken the economy largely…But the effect is not even 1% except what is the direct loss of these attacks in india. The next moment itself, we are normal and lead a normal lfe which is a big shock for the people who are giving the shocks as they are completely failing in thier motive. To catch this culprits, to be ready for the next attck or to stop the attacks is altogether different subjects and are taken care simanteously but being normal after this horrified attacks is no less than miracle!!..Scientists call this as ” Shock Absorbing Model” and they consider India as a classical example in this model. In fact 11 june 2006 6.30 pm, when the 7 bombs exploded in local trains in mumbai ..the very same day 12 pm all the routes were running normal. The news corrospondent from BBC who was travelling local train the next day assuming nobody will be there..was surprised to see a normal train service with the equal no. of people.

Recently a lady called Kalyani in vidarbha region in maharashtra was in news as she is contesting in election against congress. She became famous when Rahul Gandhi recently visited her at her home. The reason for visit..Her husband had suicided due to the loan he has taken from Banks and he was one of the 6100 farmers who did suicide due to this. This is a big issue and eventhough government had done a lot, the issue is still burning. Rahul Gandhis visit to one of this lady has politicised and just became a publicity stunt. Whatever may be the reason, even after the visit nothing concrete had been done. In todays news i just saw that, this lady is missing now!!..Political parties are not even sparing a victim from their so called publicity stunt.

With this news one another shocking news was there. Mortgaging girls on stamp paper!!..This too was in the same region of vidarbha and the same victimised farmers..who have nothing left to pay back their loans!!..And they are putting their wives, sisters, daughters name on the mortgage agreement..that..if they are unable to pay within said limit..their daughters can be taken as mortgage. This is very shoicking news..Whether someone reacted or not..there was one conctere voice..which raised the issue. She is none other than Ekta Kapoor. She has not only raised the voice but also worked out the details and started a charity drive for this farmers. She is starting a road show starting right from vidarbha..And this is what required at this moment from the talents and people like us..There is no politics or scope of it in this drive. She clearly told that being a woman..she can understand how shocking a news it is to mortgage a girl!!..This is nothing less than prostitution. My all best wishes are with her and i will do everything in my capacity to support her in this drive.

Jaate..jaate..just saw WANTED ( prabhu devaa directed)..full of violence..the only reason i saw it, i had seen its real versions in english and then the Tamil remake by the same director..POKKIRI..wanted is not even near to pokkiri in action sequences..all the action sequences are covered by special effects may be because of salmans non flexibility. He is a very good body builder, but when it comes to real action sequences the earlier tamil and english versions are far superior.

Pls continue commenting, Love you all,Manoj

PS.–We do have technical excellence comparing to other countries but there are some fields where countries like US lead in superior knowledge than us primarily because the high budget in research and development and the willingness to develope it. I just wrote it in the context of Maximum no. of Technical menpower is produced here in india.

Questions Are Answers..

Dear e.f.,

Hope all of you are doing great. The title is in fact name of a book by Allan Peace..Questions Are Answers. ( its a book written on direct selling indusrty, but the concept explained is amazing.)

Questions are answers.I beleive very strongly in this. The solutions to any problems depends on how the problem is defined. Whatever colour spects we wear, we see the world in that colour. That is the core for finding any solutions. For example, if i want to make lot of friends and if i dont get friends. I can tell people are becoming selfish, they are more interested in themselves etc. If that is my stand on that than the only time i will be having lot of friends is, all the people become selflessly interested in others. On the other hand i can see why i am not getting while others are getting..and when i define my problem with this perspective..i am reaching near the solutions.

One of our bubbly and lovely ilander have asked some wonderful questinos. She also answered those questions in her latest post, which was very touching and i am inspired to answer all of them. I wish all of you can also answer them in ur style. I am sure all of you know, who is that lovely ilander..Guys n gals she is none other than shelly..

QUESTIONS:-
1) FIRST NAME (this will not reveal your Identity…..there may be thousands by your first name ): was supposed to be Santosh..but that was the time i lost my mothers father..and u know my name..right??
2) DATE OF BIRTH: does it matter except for job applications??
3) SUN SIGN: i came to understand very lately what is the meaning of dual personality..thnks to my sun sign!..gemini.
4) DESCRIBE YOURSELF: a very boring person for those who bore me..
5) ANY TRUE LIFE ADVENTURE THAT YOU HAD: every time i left a job against wish of my well wishers, it was an adventure..but looking back now..that adventure is worth having.
WHAT IS YOUR AIM IN LIFE: kind of a HR type question..always feared to answer it..so give me more time..i can share later.

7) MOTTO IN LIFE: to live life fullest..
8) ANY UNFORGETABLE DREAM: all are unforgettable..its different that some of them i started realising.
9) MOST HAPPY MOMENT IN YOUR LIFE: ..right now putting this post is very happy moment indeed ! ( if i start looking back for a happy moment,i am loosing this moment)

10) MOST EMBARASSING MOMENT IN YOUR LIFE: .answering this qustion i guess..

13) FIRST LOVE (IF ANY): difficult to recall it but i guess i simply fell in love with life which is still very strong..

14) THOUGHTS ABOUT OPPOSITE SEX / ANY CLOSE ENCOUNTERS WITH THEM: long back i understood there is nothing to THINK about it..all the encounters after marriage are very CLOSE and i am still surviving !

15) DREAM GIRL / BOY: at this moment i dont dream about a girl or a boy..but i truly look guys like richard branson as my role model.

16) DO YOU BELIEVE IN FATE / DESTINY:
they do exist may be..but i am too lazy to leave my actions to them..
17) IF YOU HAD ONE CHANCE TO LIVE YOUR LIFE AGAIN WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO DO: will take more risks, will come out of all comfort zones i have been given in this life..

18) DESCRIBE YOUR DAILY ROUTINE IN SHORT: 10 am to 4 am( next day)..( i hate sleeping in night..)

19) HARDWORK OR LUCK WHAT DO YOU BELIEVE:
..luck without hard work is luck only..evenif it comes and if we are not ready its useless..so i believe in hard work so that when luck comes i am ready to grab it.
20) IF YOU ARE GRANTED THREE WISHES WHAT WOULD YOU WISH:

1. give me wisdom to understand what is right and wrong.

2. give me courage to do the right thing.

3. ensure that both above things never stop.

21) Biggest Lie you ever said: went to attend Barry John acting classes in delhi telling at home that i am going to attend primavera project planning course..they still dont know that.

22) ARE YOU TRYTHFUL TO ALL ABOVE ANSWERS??..some of them do seem as neutral..But i mean it.

P.S.–guys n gals..you may find many of the answers boring but i tried to be as frank as i can. Do comment and also answer all the questions in ur post..will be happy to see that. Also most of you have not visited my earlier blog as well..do visit and comment there also…once again there is problem in uploading picture.

Love,Manoj

Man has become like a….!!!

Dear e.f.,Hope all of you are doing great. There are lot of thoughts and subjects in mind nowadays to put on blog but somehow when its running in mind there are not sources or willingness to write it down and when am ready to write it down mind is blank. Its better to do what Amitji is doing, be ready with gadgets all the time..write it down as it comes in mind. Many times the strokes of thoughts are never the same once it has passed from the mind. This is my feeling, what is yours ??..

Just read today one poem posted by nitin in gujarati..Its amazing. I am particularly very bad at reading poems ( and i am convinced that i can never write one!)..Mainly because i have no patience to be in tune with imagination and feelings of the poet….And if it is written with heavy words..I cant go to the second line. But that doesnot mean i dont try to read them..I do it. And quite amazingly sometimes my little mind is able to understand and grasp some of them. And some of them stays in my heart forever.

The one which i am sharing here is posted by nitin. Its in gujarati. I believe that many of the feelings and the way it is expressed lose its originality when translated. Its never the same. But i am just trying to translate this poem in gujarati..to English.I know its not going to be equally great as expressed in gujarati. Some of you, if knows gujarati..and if feel to translate better..Pls do try.

Its basically comparison of our life with mobile.Expressed and compared so beautifully, that first time in my life i am trying for a translation,as i think you should not miss it. Nitin also suggested in post, those who dont understand pls get it translated from someone. So dear e.f. this is for you and nitin this is for you as well.First of all the original one i am putting here.So those, who knows gujarati pls enjoy..Do not forget to give the feed back after reading the translation as well!!
Love..

This man has become like a mobile!

Recharging the feelings only as he wants….Shwoing zero balance at the right moment

This man has become like a mobile!

Receiving relations seeing who is on other end….Wearing spects of selfishness, switching off friendship also

This man has become like a mobile!

Started changing models as today geeta and tom. reeta….Calling Miss leaving Mrs.

This man has become like a mobile!

Worrying deadly, seeing high model of the neighbour….Telling..ooops..I could have waited lil bit..

This man has become like a mobile!

Telling i am in surat..when he is in baroda,….Changing friends seeing benefits..today vodafone tom. reliance

This man has become like a mobile!

Gone out of coverage of family..in finding incoming-outgoing free packages,….What can be done now when he has already became a model..a package!!

This man has become like a mobile!!

Love you all, Keep commenting.

PS.–As i wrote above there are certainly many things in mind to put on here. One of them is –Lock up Lessons– inspired by ramus (Ram Gopal Varma.s)latest write up on his blog. That write up is an amazing one..I will share with you guys shortly alongwith the lessons i learnt. And for this poem i shared here, its not for criticising anyone, its just that i felt the comparisons so close to reality that i thought to share with you all.

happy blogging day…….

Dear e.f.,

Yes you heard it right..Happy friendship day..Since we became friends on this wonderland i would rather call it a happy blogging day. Who knows this is the way every DAY has been formed..be it mothers day or family day.

I feel it awkward to have days for remembering something. How can we have a family day??..Is there any day when we are not with family..if not physically at least without remembering them..Is it require for us to have a family day to remember our family??..I guess for indians and most part of the world, family is our extension,we are part of it.It can be important for someone to remind who forgot its value?..Perhaps the pace at which we are going its better to keep in mind!..Similarly, mothers day, fathers day….are we reallly losing its importance?,,Every this kind of a day reminds is it really required?..

At one point one of my friend told me its nothing but some marketing tools to promote business of greeting cards and such things which is highly sold during this DAYs!..May be true, I dont know..but if such days are recreating those feelings and relations…nothing wrong. So what if that is business or anything..relations and feelings are priceless!!..And at the same time it also forces us to think.

Anyhow, i never celebrated friendship day..except receiving some sms s and sending them back!!…

But at this occassion, particularly here on blogging..i am taking this opportunity to wish all of you a very happy friendship ( read blogging) day. All of you are special for me. Its not possible to write any names. I really dont know what is my contribution here but all of you have contributed a lot lot knowingly or unknowingly. I cant put it in words. Its a process, which is continuously evolving me to a better and a new person.May be i will require a blog to reveal it what am i learning here. But most importantly, its a chance to look into ur mind, thought process and feelings which is special. Where else would i get it?..This is the single reason reading books also, i consider very vital part in mental growth Because we are getting a chance to venture into someone elses territory..who may have lived 2000 or 20 years ago.Blessed are the persons who have a reading habit!

And finally..friendship. What is that?..Well there may be thousands of quotes..but for me a best friend is with whom i can be myself and i can allow him to be himself when he is with me. Sometimes i wonder why do i open my ilandbox before my email box?..I think most of the friends are busy with their daily affairs and happenings ( hi,hello..whts up) and they have nothing to say about my thought process or what do i think or feel towards life!!..Well this is my experience i guess many of you will be having very good friends with whom you can share everything.

Here on iland even if no one of us have daily personal meetings or interactions, at least we have a bonding to care and share about what we feel and think. Thats what counts more and makes the bond stronger. At any point of time if we meet in future in life anywhere, still we will be having that understanding as we have always seen each other as some thoughts and that has made our roots strong.Well, there always can be some illusions whether we meet personally or knowing the mind of that person. But i guess comparatively knowing someones mind and thoughts always gives better picture.

Sorry guys, it is ending up as a phylosophical journey..Wanted to convey this.Am not sure whether i conveyed it clearly.Your comments will reveal it.

Finally guys n gals,I love you very much.Sameera asked recently why i am addressing dear e.f. ..what is e.f.?..Well let me write it again, its extended family. I copied it from Amitabhjis blog. It truly is extended family for me.Tried to upload a beautiful foto..not sure whether it comes or not.

Keep blogging and the spirit of knowledge and sharing alive!!..

HAPPY BLOGGING DAY.

When My Mind Is Still….( PAUL BEATTIE)

Dear e.f.,

Hope all of you are doing well. Just sharing some thoughts of Paul Beattie. Thoughts that has almost become part of my life….dont know since when.I Love this for the sheer clarity of thoughts, the simplicity in which it is expressed and the universal and timeless theme.Hope you guys will love it.

When My Mind is Still

When my mind is still and alone with the beating of my heart,
I remember things too easily forgotten:
The purity of early love,
The maturity of unselfish love that asks —
desires — nothing but another’s good,
The idealism that has persisted through all the tempest of life.

When my mind is still and alone with the beating of my heart,
I can find a quiet assurance, an inner peace, in the core of my being.
It can face the doubt, the loneliness, the anxiety,
Can accept these harsh realities and can even grow
Because of these challenges to my essential being.

When my mind is still and alone with the beating of my heart,
I can sense my basic humanity,
And then I know that all men and women are my brothers and sisters.
Nothing but my own fear and distrust can separate me from the love of friends.
If I can trust others, accept them, enjoy them,
Then my life shall surely be richer and more full.
If I can accept others, this will help them to be more truly themselves,
And they will be more able to accept me.

When my mind is still and alone with the beating of my heart,
I know how much life has given me:
The history of the race, friends and family,
The opportunity to work, the chance to build myself.
Then wells within me the urge to live more abundantly,
With greater trust and joy,
With more profound seriousness and earnest service,
And yet more calmly at the heart of life.

–PAUL BEATTIE–

P.S.–Guys, not that i read too much ( although i would love to do it..) but whatever i go through, if it touches me i allow myself to be carried by that. As in Ramus (Ram Gopal Varmas) words knowledge is like stepping up on a ladder, each step we take we must be able to see that much higher. We should not carry what should have carried us ! The picture i posted is one of my most favourite, less colourful but full of stories!!

Love you all, Keep commenting.

Indian,global….and indian films.

Dear e.f,

Hope all of you are fine. Its been long time did not post a blog. Too busy. but certainly in between some incidents happen and get a point to write or rather which propmpts me to write. Well, for the master plan series which i started in last blog,i will continue it later. In fact in last blog i even did not mention why the title..but will surely do soon. Hope some of you can remind me!

Films are my all time ever green subject. I love them!!!! Specially, Indian Movies. Not that i dont like hollywood movies or dont watch them. But somehow it is very difficult to relate to them. Probably we are instilled with so much love and non-violence in our mind and that may be the primary reason…there are lot hollywood movies without violence also..but somehow not appealing as i feel lack of emotions. Well, there are lot other reasons hollywood is still superior.. technics, budget , planning and detailed working on script, reality factors, believablity etc. And similarly hindi movies are also not without violence but certainly with lot of emotions and a soul.

Before i go further i would like to write i hate the word..bollywood. It seems that we dont have our own film industry. This is a name given by west to tell the world what indian film industry should be called !! And we, even took it further to mollywood, tollywood, kollywood and everyotherwood!! And when west say Bollywood they are only meaning to Bombay Film Industry. They dont even perhaps know or mention how many regional film industry we have..which is almost producing world class movies! Why do we need to be so desparate to get the so called oscar awards which does not truly represent or understand our movies. Why do we need to be so much influenced by them while we are no. 1 nation in the world to produce movies !! And for the fact indian movies are most watched and loved around the world..And dont be surprised if they come up with figures comparing who is having more world wide audience..hollywood or indian film industry?? I strongly believe indian film industry will come up with more numbers. Well if we go for actual numbers in this regard it would be interesting to know if someone comes up with that!

My belief is based on my observations in various countries i visited recently and also from observations of our film analysts. Whatever country i visited ,whichever people i met i made sure at one point i take their feed back on indian movies and indians.

When i was in qatar, i was posted in qatar petroleum and i was working in the night shift. My colleague was a qatari guy..a fat, tall and lazy guy. When he walks, i used to believe that he is not walking on his own..some spirit is taking him further. Walking was too much exercise for him. If he can do anything without moving..he would love it. Imagine, he was the only colleague i was having and what would i do if some emergency arises!! And thats the actual fate of every indian working in gulf who had local colleagues. They were only for namesake..the show is basically run by indians only. Thats the single reason indian engineers are respected there very much. Not that i am comparing with other countries..but indians are capable on their own.

Well i was curious to know whether this guy watches indian films. Next day morning when we were ready to go back and waiting for vehicle.i asked whether he watch movies !! I asked about hollywood movies..also about his family. ( btw….he had 9 children..from four wives..which is very common there. i wondered how the guy who hardly moves..can manage to have 4 wives..and above all how can remain so calm…?? Government encourages everyone to have more children in gulf countries..In saudi after 2 nd child education is almost free. The same phenomena i saw in africa also..they were not ready to believe that indians can be happy with 1 or 2 children. ) Now, the guy asked me a question..which stunned me. And i did not have to ask another question to know my answers. he asked me, ” Do you know Amitabh Bachchan ?” I told..no. Who is he? And now he was stunned..Dont you know him? My god, what an actor !.and what are the films!!!!. I understood the magic of our films and actors.

In gulf almost all the expatriate ( not only indians..particularly all asians and other continents also) love indian movies. This include locals of their country also. Market for hindi movie cds are very very hot! Unfortunately, those are pirated cds..but market will find its way..if we dont cater the demand the supply will find its way. There is no point in talking about pirated cds..because ultimately people want the product..We must know how to cater them otherwise they will find the way. Although i am a firm believer that piration must stop..I find the solutions in catering the market through right way..If we keep original cds at damn high prices and only available at few reputed stores..how can we even think about stopping piration?? At least, they have reach..they are everywhere and also cheap. So whts the point in stopping piration. Recently i also read on vibhutis blog that the money from pirated cds go to terrorist circuits. Which can be truth..So now it is even more important for us to make our reach strong and cheap. I heard even some stores started original cheap cds, which is a good step. Network must be more strong. If originals are available everywhere at lesser price no one will go to pirated cds. And if no one buys those, its as good as dead. I hope those are listening who are crying all the time to stop piration.Wake up and smell the coffee lah!! It can never be stopped unless we have strong network of distribution world wide which is also viable. Sorry, was bit side trcked from main subject but this is a subject which is discussed more often than solved. Here is an immense potential market lying if some of you want to venture into it..Not only to make money but also to have essential service and core solutions. There is huge huge demand for our movies world wide..to me its not only to supply demand but its equally good service also. (Now,pls dont ask me why am i not venturing into it..its not because i dont want but because my present business is so demanding in time and efforts that there is no way i can do the same in near future, but i am open for doing it in future)

That was in gulf countries where without any doubt indian movies are very very popular. In UAE its malayalam movies which are popular primarily because majority are from kerala. When i came to uganda, africa almost every cd shop owner are crazy watching indian songs. Although sales is low compared to hollywood movies, but people are not aware of indian movies yet. Those who are aware are getting addicted fastly and word of mouth is doing the tricks. Even at small towns like jinja i saw they are hooked to our movies. Later when i visited some homes i came to know they follow hindi movies very well…even if they dont understand language they understand story very well. That explains our film industry. Shahrukh is a house hold name here. Recently, while i was seating in a bourbon cafe in rwanda ( now thats the beauty of visiting bourbon in rwanda….if you see around you essentially find people from four continents very easily..africa obviously, america has some long term interest, europe because its neighbour and obviously asians..or rather say indians because they are at every corner!!) at the nex 2 tables young african guys were seating..doing something on laptop. Slowly from the soundtracks i understood at one table they were watching slumdog and another they were listening hindi songs!! Mostly hindi songs are very very popilar in these countries. The place where i stay the maid has a big collection of hindi movie songs. And wife of my business partner in rwanda loves hindi movies most.

So kind of it sums up with the phenomena..we dont need to explain. Also time to time we hear that our block busters are top ten grossers in UK,US. Yash chopra could not believe when dubbed version of veer zaara became top earner of that year. Not just because indians in germany, the germans watched it more than indians. And yashji could not believe when he was seeing germans coming out from theatres in lot of emotions. Thats the language of love..no boundaries.

Well there is lot lot lot lot more i want to write on this subject..one blog may not be enough. Particularly want to write about global cinema. Can add here later or post in series..After knowing ur comments..I hope i have not bored you all. I wanted to share these thoughts with all of you.

Before stopping, my tribute to Malayalam film director lohit dass who passed away few weeks back. Some of his written movies are like embedded into my system and i consider them master pieces.( Many of them are awarded with national award).like kiridam, chenkol, kamaldalam and many more. I wish you can understand malayalam to feel these movies..or if you get subtitled version..do watch it. Malayalam and Indian cinema has lost an amazing film director.

And finally, for the picture posted here..phenomena of indian film industry can ever explained by any other pictures !!!! I guess..not for some centuries..may be!

Love you guys n gals, Keep commenting.

P.S.– If some of you are inspired to start the business i mentioned above..Pls pls..dont jump into it without having checked all feasibility reports and exercises. Demand is certainly there..but to cater it successfully is both art and science, which requires immense imagination and research.

Dear e.f.,

Not seen both of you for long time.

I am sure all of you have visited nitin jash last posts about secret of married life and one recent .and some of the  2-3 liners very inspiring nitin. Well, Nitin is the one who gave me chetan .I can never forget that. It reminded me of shelly .who was searching link for chetan and that famous lecture—from the country of 1 billion sparks?desparately, but shelly is not seen after that. Deepak Shukla, ( writing full name bcos there are few more deepaks here..) ur last  post was really touching. Was it ur own?.. sorry  to ask direct .but if so, congrates to you. Your creation was wonderful .dhoon banane ki koshish bhi karo..shayad ek bahut hi achcha gana ban jaaye..SUNIL PRAHARY .is the guy who still makes me laugh with his one line comments.  Kausalya has once shared aout mannerisms about eating at restaurants or public places. Very nice post .SUNILs comment..bahut achcha tha..bhook lag gayi..still makes me laugh. Btw..kausalyas all blogs are very spiritual and enlightening. Deepika, I understood you stopped blogging because of  some silly or rather sticky matters .I wish you could read some of my previous blogs and understand how entire ilanders  are  reacting on such matters. Be cool .come back!!

Finally guys n gals..If there is one guy in entire last hundred years (apart from Gandhi, Mother Teresa, Diana .and few more you can add if u remember .)  who not only said but truly lived the words .WE ARE THE WORLD and HEAL THE WORLD .is my beloved Michael Jackson. In my views, he has done more to heal the world ( even at a small level thru his music..) than most of the other political leaders or saints who  talk big..but can never ever achieve what MJ has truly achieved in his short life (and even shorter period actively..as last 11 yrs were the darkest years of his life). Does anyone have courage to go beyond race, religion and nations and make a place in hearts of millions of people around the world ? MJ did it without much efforts. What made him true legend and a universal icon?? ( probably the only real superstar in the world .) Well, It was pure love. From brook shield to Jeramine j.  and from Kenny Ortega ( Director of This is it..tour)  to Smokey robinson told ystrday at his memorial .He was a man of heart..and would do anything for his friends AND FAMILY anything!! This was MJ .HE WOULD GO OUT OF THE WAY TO HELP PEOPLE IN NEED .that was the essence which made his music and dances ..something more than just music or dance ..He truly loved people .The musical and magical moments MJ has given can anyone forget that?? Never ever .The theme picture in ystrdays memorial where MJ is shown telling..I AM ALIVE AND HERE FOREVER .is very true. I am sure many of you have watched ystrdays memorial live!! If not, don't  miss the next  telecast..whenever it is. It  was shown on CNN.

It was very touching and emotional tribute to Michael Jackson Memorial yesterday . I consider myself lucky to be able to watch it live at staples centre( on tv..off-course!)..as per CNN..one of the most watched event in recent history!!  Every moment of it was tremendous..but I will never forget Brook Shields tribute to MJ and how emotional she became while talking on MJ..and also his daughter paris..I could not stop my tears when she gave her tribute..And particularly at the end while everyone around the world watching it on tv or live .were requested to hold the hands of nex guy  or girl .with the song playing WE ARE THE WORLD.

I was only 13 yrs old while coming back from kerala to gujrat..on train I picked up one gujarati magazine..chitralekha..There was some article on MJ. I read it but could never understood why are people crazy about him. Then my big bro. who was lucky enough to watch some of his videos, explained me about his magic. That was my first chase to MJ. That was 86 and television was still a luxury in india.. very few people had it. Video was nowhere in our  small town! So I had to wait few more years..to feel the magic of MJ. Thriller—was the first video I seen in 90s when cable tv started officially. Except DD,METRO only ZEE and CNN was there. CNN because of gulf war..Slowly MTV,V TV all music channel started.  All I can remember is I became instant fan of him..and never missed any of his songs on telecast. He has the power to take me to entirely another world .and feel me so high. Uncomparable experience even today!! In recent years when I was in middle east I was frequently visiting Bahrain. A very small but live country .specially comparing to Saudi..Both are neighbouring  countries but with two extremes. Saudi is very large and still under lot of restrictions and customs. Bahrain is very small but no restrictions and  very friendly country.  Lately, I came to know MJ was a special guest of King of Bahrain and was living in a palace there for many years during his last dark years.  I wish I could have visited him sometime Was just reading Amitjis blog the day Jackson gone..Amitji have very humbly shared his experience in live MJ show  at Jacksonville .and after few years of that his meeting wih MJ in one hotel in US. Do read it guys.

I always believed the magic of MJ  is going to be there ever..forever. And after watching ystrdays tribute to MJ, I truly understood and felt..why he is a universal icon. Why everyone loves him so much. MJ  is gone becos of over medication as experts are telling. He was in too much pain and had to gone thru lot of medication which the system did not accepted. Apperantly, after  being released from all the charges in 2005, he spent one week with Dr.Deepak Chopra .Where he had asked for prescription  for some narcotic for getting relief from heavy pain. DC disagreed and confronted strongly and also understood MJ is already taking heavy medication. Despite his confrontation MJ was not convinced and continued it. This was the major reason according to experts MJ is gone.

I think god has some other plans..May be god  was too curious for his comeback..on 13 th july..And thought  its easy to call MJ to him rather than going to London!!  Anyways, MJ had to go back from this world like all of us one day .But he will be remembered forever ..ever..ever..ever..and Michael Jackson proved that it is possible to make a change in the world..despite all personal tragedies and problems. I salute to this legend and assure I will do everything in my capacity to do so.

Love you Michael,Manoj.

( guys..guys..guys..some clarifications…just edited this one..there is no way we can compare MJ with the legends i mentioned above..i just meant that he joined their rank in healing the world in a small way thru his music…..and he is the only real super star in the world of entertainment….love u guys n gals..keep commenting.)
